HTC Droid Eris :: Eris Missing From HTC Website

When I first got my Eris I remember that it was all over the HTC website as their new phone on Verizon. I know that the Nexus One has come out and been the center of attention but the Eris seems no where to be found. If you do a search on the site you can find the user manual(PDF) and some press release but that's about it. I sent an email to them asking whats up but has anyone else noticed this? This really worries me that it is gone, specially when I am expecting a nice 2.1 update(fingers crossed) on the 22nd.I don't know what was up but I just check back and the site is completely different then it was 10mins ago and I mean like a total makeover. I must have been sent over to a backup server that doesn't run flash and is out of date or something. Even the search results came back different!

Our HTC Droid Eris. is no longer showing up on Verizon's website. It's still in the support pages, but not in their smartphone "line up" page. Anyone know if it's still displayed in stores?

Many of my contacts have websites that I need to add to their Contact card.Is there any way to Add a URL / WWW address to a contacts info card and have it show up on the phone and be clickable? Like the persons Home address and email fields are. I see no field on the ERIS for this info, However, The Moto DROID has it.If I Edit or Add the Contact from my PC, using Google Contacts there is a Field for this info, but entering it in there does not add it to the ERIS contact info.Out of Frustration I added URL's to some of the other preset fields listed (Company, Mailing address, Other etc..) on Both the ERIS and Google Contacts on the PC, but doing it this way just adds unclickable text to the Contact card.Any help would be appreciated.

maybe it just isn't there, but I am trying to locate the backslash character () on the Eris keyboard. I can easily see the forwardslash character ( / ) but the backslash is what I need to setup my Exchange account on the phone. Does anybody have any ideas?

One thing I noticed about the HTC Eris over the Moto Droid is it seems to be missing the Corporate Calendar app. I want keep my gmail calendar and my Outlook calendar separate like I could on the Moto Droid. Am I being a total n00b and missing something here?

Been on 2.1v3 since it came out and just today I noticed in the market a couple of games are now showing in my Downloads as Purchased. I bought them back on 1.5 and haven't seen them since the 2.1v1,2,3 updates.
They are SmartPix games Tan'n'Feed and CrystalLight Defence ( and they are great to play, by the way ).
Anyway, I'm 99.9% positive they have not been in my Downloads in the Market since I started down the 2.1 path. Now they are...weird.
Wonder if the 2.1 rollout triggered something in the marketplace?

Ok I realy like the update. But I am missing the weather part on the stock, sense UI, clock. I used astro to check for it an it isn't even listed any more. Is there anywhere to download just that piece (widget)? Thanks in advance for any help. My Sense home page just doesn't look right with out it.

I'm not the only one experiencing the problem. Anyone talk with the DEV yet? Just curious he has an idears or anyone here has come up with anything.AppBrain was able to add it to my list online, but when I sync'd on my phone and selected it, all it does is launch the Market app with a search term for that app, so it doesn't show up.This kinda makes me think that 2.1 #2 is not final.

So I downloaded the OTA update today without a hitch. I went to the Market today to finally download Pac-Man and maybe de Blob, but they're both missing. No big. I tried to do a search for them and...they aren't there. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Is it just me or does it seem like your phone misses more than just an occasional notification for things like google voice, gmail or various small items while the phone is asleep? For some reason my phone will be asleep for just a short time, then I click to wake it up and my notification shows up then, but if I hadnt woke the phone up it wouldnt alert me even though its set to check and notify. This happening to anyone else?

For the life of me, I can't seem to get to the power bar widget. I want a shortcut on my home screen. I have tried the method of: long press Home Screen>HTC Widget and I don't see it available there. Is it possible I deleted it? Can I get it back?

I just signed up on this forum the other day on a whim and a thread thats still floating hereabouts. I thought I'd never have any questions because lurking solves most of that. I've long since learned that forum participation, while entertaining, is very time consuming if not relegated strictly to office downtime. Alas I have a problem, and I beseech this wise forum for wisdom.
Righto, so I love my Eris and have had barely any problems. Sure it lags a bit but I'm not rooted so its my own fault. I've had a problem the last two days with the SD card. Basically my phone suddenly starts saying the SD card is missing. Which is total BS since its still in there like a good little card. So like any reasonably technical person would do I popped it in and out. Lo and behold it works again. I think nothing of it and go about my business until it happens again later that day. Wtf right. So i pop that sucker out again, and reinsertion cured the problem.
At this point I'm slightly annoyed but just happy that my Eris works reasonably well. Seriously I had just finished telling someone, I could see myself keeping this phone even if I could upgrade. But the problem recurred even worse.
This morning all was well and my Eris woke me up to a bright sunny day. Except after a bit of browsing online suddenly my SD card flips out again. But heres the catch, reinserting didn't help. Reinserting it twice didn't help. So again like any reasonable person I powered it on and off. Didn't help. I then powered it off, took out the card. Waited, then put it back in then powered up. Didn't help. Folks this took a lot of patience because I have some classes to go to today, and not a lot of time to mess around. I then powered down, powered up, and then reinserted again once everything settled down.
Didn't help... In fact the problem got worse. Now its telling me the "SD card is empty." "Well this is frelling great", I thought to myself. I desperately reinserted to an even worse message. "The SD card is damaged and needs to be formatted." At this point I'm rapidly losing faith in this Eris that has kept me all the way since December. Reinserted once again... and didn't help.
I wasn't about to give up, after maybe a few more times it finally reads and I hastily backed up the card to my desktop. I'm relieved but unnerved. My first inclination is to whine to Verizon. Afterall they did swap this phone out 3 times already in the past, I had this weird restarting problem which they couldn't figure out. I had to run countless tests on my own which were never conclusive, but seemed to be related to app installations. It eventually went away so I stopped complaining Late May and got this 4th phone. Meaning I had my original, swapped out once, swapped out twice, swapped out thrice.
So this could be the opportunity for a new phone. Do I want a nice new model, yes. Am I willing to keep my Eris, also yes. As you all know its very aesthetically pleasing and conveniently portable. I'm trying to figure out what I should do next.

My fiance and I both got the Eris last week, and we both got our contacts transfered from our old phones (hers was LG EnV Touch). We both had existing Gmail accounts which were setup by the Verizon techs at the store as well. The other day, she started telling me that she was getting this weird message on her phone "Too Many Contact Deletes" or something to that effect. I disregarded it as nothing, and carried on until tonight.
She called me freaking out that all her favorite people in her HTC Favorites Widget were gone, including me, and that my number just showed up when i called her, no name, no picture, just number. So I had her check her People list and she said they were all still there, except that all their Phone Numbers were missing. I quickly logged into her GMail account to confirm, sure enough, everyone was still there, but all the numbers were gone.
I did some research and found a little bit on the error message she got originally, but nothing about random deletion of contacts phone numbers. I still have her LG EnV Touch here with all her contacts, and am contemplating deleting all of her Gmail contacts, all of her Phone contacts and then importing the list into GMail, and syncing with the phone. Is that what you would do? I'm worried that this will happen again. What is this caused by and how does she prevent this in the future?

I'm using Companion Link to sync my Outlook with Gmail and thus to my Eris. So far it works flawlessly. All my calendar events show up, all details and notes included. The one weird problem I'm having is that while all of my calendar events show up in Outlook, and in the Gmail calendar, AND on the Eris calendar in either Month View (it shows the notch indicating an event that day) or in Day View (all events are correctly displayed) but --- if I switch to Agenda View, most of my events are NOT displayed. All Day events are all displayed as a few "timed events", but most timed events are not. Can't figure it out. I know the data is there. It is correctly displayed in every place and in every way EXCEPT Agenda View.

I dropped my phone from a height of less than 2 feet (knocked it off a table) and the back cover and battery fell off/out. So I popped it all back together, but just noticed that the volume buttons on the side of the phone are missing!

I am running the 0.3 rom.. and there is no battery usage under about phone.. its there on the droid am i missing something? Also to make it more stange when you get down to 15% it gives my a low battery warning i can either say yes or view battery usage.. but cant seem to find it anywhere in the menus.

Since the Android store doesn't have protected apps available to use yet for 2.1. Is there somewhere you can get them? I been looking for Cherry RPlayer and even though its free its protected. The backup I made didn't include it.

Both seem to be working perfectly, except:
The Contacts and Calendar on the phone no longer appear on my laptop. Worked fine yesterday.
Obviously it's some idiotic thing I did or failed to do, but I haven't a clue.

I have seen a lot of posts saying that people once they rooted they lost access to some of the apps they had with android 1.5.This is an HTC hero rom that was ported over to the eris that I am running right now. With this rom which is running 2.1 you will get access to the protected apps on the market (the apps that come up missing). Read the known bugs section though. Included is an app that circumvents the power down hang and I actully like using it more then shutting down the phone the convential way hope this helps. People running eris with 2.1 don't have access because it has not been officially released yet. "Given that I am in the process of switching from my Sprint HTC Hero over to a Verizon HTC DROID Eris I have been paying more attention lately to accessories for the Eris, one of which was extended batteries. Personally I am not really sure that I need one, but at the same time, a little extra juice is always a welcomed option for a smartphone especially when you are a heavy user.That said, it seems that Seidio has two options available, a 1750mAh and a 3500mAh which are selling for $49.95 and $69.95 respectively.The main difference here, aside from the 3500 offering more juice (and being more expensive) is that the 1750 model was designed to fit with the original battery cover. And that means no extra thickness. The 3500mAh battery on the other hand will add some extra thickness, though its said to only be 3-4mm. The nice part here is that this battery does come with the replacement back cover.

I am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
