HTC Droid Eris :: Does Snesoid / Other Emulators Work On Phone?
Nov 11, 2009Since the Droid Eris lacks the physical keyboard, I'm wondering if Snesoid, Nesoid or Gensod work at all on the Eris? Anyone give them a try?

View 15 RepliesThe title says it all, I'll open my SNESoid (or NESoid) and the buttons will be on the screen sometimes and they won't be on the screen sometimes. It doesn't appear to be a "settings" issue. Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedInstalled the Snesoid and GameBoid on it but they are not working. I open up either application with a message 'No ROM loaded. Press Menu for more options.' I put my games in a folder called Roms. When I select the folder to load a game, it recognises that the games are on there but as soon as I choose a game it loads for a couple of seconds then the whole application closes returning me to my home screen on my phone. What's up with that? I want to play Mario Kart dammit! P.S Is there any way to stop the phone's time syncing with my PC time. It's doing my head in!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've seen that others have SNESoid on their DX's but when I installed SNESoid light on my DX and went to freeroms.com I get a black screen. Here's is what I did.
1.Installed SNESoid lite and ASTRO
2. Went to freeroms.com
3. Direct DLed ROM .zips of FF3, Super mario bros. to my phones SD.
4. Opened with ASTRO went to download folder and extracted in same folder.
5. Opened SNESoid lite and it went to download folder. It only showed the zip folders and not the actual roms.
6. so I clicked on the .zip folder but I either get a black screen or really screwy lines.
A friend of mine has the g1 with a nes emulator on it and a crap load of roms. Do these emulators work for android in general or are they phone specific? (new to android phones btw) If they do can anyone point me in the right direction to getting a good emulator and some roms for my moto cliq.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat do you think is the best way to map the buttons for these two emulators (NESOID AND SNESOID). I'm having trouble finding a solution. Your help as always is appreciated...and yes I searched, but could only find info on the actual droid which has an actual keyboard not just a virtual one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm testing out a web page on the Android 2.0 and 2.2 emulators, and the jQuery.ajax() requests that the app makes have slightly different behaviors regarding HTTP Authentication Headers. The server I'm making requests to requires basic authentication, and the ajax requests in 2.2 send the proper auth header. In 2.0, I am debugging with Fiddler, and it seems that the requests do not include the auth header, and the server rejects the request with a 401.2 error. I don't think it matters, but the server is running IIS 7. One interesting thing I noticed while debugging the web requests is that Android 2.2 makes two requests for each resource, whether or not it's an XHR. One does not contain the Auth header, and the second one does. In 2.0, it seems to make 2 requests for everything but XHR's:
Here is the 2.2 header for the first XHR:
GET http://192.168.1.111/sonar/mobileweb/sonar/views/week/init.ejs HTTP/1.1
Host: 192.168.1.111
Accept-Encoding: gzip

Accept-Language: en-US
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; sdk Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
Accept: text/plain, */*
X-Requested-With: XMLHttpRequest
Accept-Charset: utf-8, iso-8859-1, utf-16, *;q=0.7
The 2.2 header for the second XHR:
GET http://192.168.1.111/sonar/mobileweb/sonar/views/week/init.ejs HTTP/1.1
Host: 192.168.1.111
Accept-Encoding: gzip

Accept-Language: en-US
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; sdk Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1

Accept: text/plain, */*
X-Requested-With: XMLHttpRequest
Accept-Charset: utf-8, iso-8859-1, utf-16, *;q=0.7
And the 2.0 header:
GET http://192.168.1.111/app/views/week/init.ejs HTTP/1.1
Host: 192.168.1.111
Accept-Encoding: gzip
Referer: http://192.168.1.111/app/app.html
Accept-Language: en-US
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.0; en-us; sdk Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
Accept: text/plain, */*
X-Requested-With: XMLHttpRequest
Accept-Charset: utf-8, iso-8859-1, utf-16, *;q=0.7
Has anyone experienced this behavior before? It is basically causing my app to not work at all in version 2.0. Version 2.1 seems to act the same as 2.0.
I ve just installed them + loaded some .nes , . smc games. None of them work. I tap them to open and application force closes or it opens the menu of the emulator.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Droid Eris's battery was low yesterday, and it died before i could charge it. I plugged it in through the night, and this morning when I turned it on, it wouldn't boot up. Well, it turns on, but it gets stuck on the white screen with the three skateboarding androids. I left it like that for about 4 hours, and it still hasn't changed.
I tried removing the battery, and then putting it back in, but that didn't help. Any suggestions?
OK so if you use POP3 on several computers to get gmail, you may be familiar with this. Basically it makes it so every client gets your email. Anyhow heres my problem, freakin PoS default android email will not recognize it as a correct username. Is anyone familiar with this? Know a better email client than the default (and don't suggest K-9 please, I'm currently using it and hate it). I wish someone would get the HTC mail app to work on vanilla.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Eris that I have been using the premium version of SNESoid on for some time with out any cpmlaints or issues. Recently the save function has stopped working. I'm not sure if this issue was caused by the Android 2.1 update, but since my update just happened on Saturday I kind of suspect it. Anyone else have any ideas as to what caused this or if it can be fixed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know that iphone users can jail break to get the old school emulators and I think that by now, there are some emulators in the apple market. My question is on a couple levels...
- Without jailbreaking, can you get roms on the iphone for free?
- If so how?
- How well does the on screen controller work
- Is the small screen you have to use on the iphone emu an issue?
Also add any feedback you like and your opinion as well. I'm just curious that's all. Hopefully one of you has experience in this field
My mom has a car charger for her old Motorola Razr and it uses the same mini-USB plug that our phone uses. I was wondering if this would work in charging my Eris or will it just destroy the battery?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a client-server Android application and trying to figure out how to identify different phones/users to the server unambiguously. My first attempt would be to use the phone number on the SIM card. Although now that I think about it, how common is it these days that your phone number changes when you e.g. change carrier? I guess it depends from country to country etc.Anyway, I've been trying to figure out, since I don't have actual Android phones, how to change the phone number of the emulator phone to simulate different users. Is it possible or should I just think about alternative ways of identification?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is another question for you guys/gals. Where can I find emulators/roms for my moment? I have done some research and cannot find any supporting evidence. And Im NOT looking for emulating the 64 or PS2 or 3, I know our processor cannot handle it. I want some games badly for my phone! Like castlevania, Mario, etc. NES STYLE BABY! would like to know where I can download them.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI recently activated my old Blackberry Curve because of my frustration with certain features on my Eris. I thought that I would still be able to browse the Internet on my Eris using wifi only but it's not really working. The reason I say "not really" is because I can do a Google search and look at Google News, etc, but I can't really go anywhere else. If I click on a link, or select one of my bookmarks, it just sits there and eventually times out. Does anyone understand why this won't work? When my Eris was activated, I could use wifi in areas where I had no cell coverage. I may reactivate my Eris soon.... I do miss the fun of it. Also the call quality is somewhat better than my Curve - although the Curve gets better reception in marginal signal areas. Love my Curve for push email and the real keyboard. When it's time for an upgrade, I am going to have a hard time deciding whether to go with the latest Blackberry or Android phone. If they come out with a top of the line android phone with a good physical keyboard (not like the Droid's) I will be very tempted.
