I decided to take the plunge. I went through the tutorial step by step and now my phone won't make phone calls. I've tried programming my phone twice and I still get the recording that says Verizon cant authenticate my phone.

I can't be the only one that this doesnt work for right? I updated earlier today and it was posted many times that the get more htc widgets feature was fixed...Is their a setting I need to configure for this to work, or am I just s.o.l?

I've got my email and when I click the link it says that I'm not running on an android phone... Could this be an issue with 2.1v3. I noticed another poster had the same issue and he's also on the leak. Is anyone else having the same problem or am I just SOL?

I looked around and really cont find an answer to this... I love 2.1 but now my phone barely works to make calls. I can make a call, but then if I try to make another, the phone will just go black. The other person says they can hear me, but I hear nothing. Is there a fix other than shutting off the phone after every call?
View 4 Replies View RelatedGoogle Voice runs flawlessly on my Droid. I recently purchased a Droid Eris for my wife, and while Google Voice SMS and inbound calling works fine, outbound calling does not. I notice that Google's "bridging number" used to connect me with the recipient on the Eris is different than the one used by my Droid. When dialing on my Droid, the call is routed through (518) 314-9466, while the problematic Eris is using (609) 987-0466. My wife's GV number is a (908) number which is probably why she is being routed through a (609) bridging number, both being South Jersey Area codes.
Does anyone think this is the problem? If so, is there a way to adjust which bridging number through which outbound calls are connnected. Has anyone else suffered this issue? We are really concerned as Google Voice integration was the primary reason for purchasing this phone. I thought to add that (i) I am using version 0.2.8 in all instances, (ii) the Eris has been updated with the recent OTA update from Verizon (though I didn't have a chance to use Google Voice beforehand to to determine if this is a post-update issue or not) and (iii) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the market multiple times in hopes of rectifying this issue.
I used *228 and pressed 1 and did it again and pressed 2 neither worked and still cant make calls.
View 10 Replies View RelatedFirst off I want to say that I really like my new Eris but.... Coming from a BB there seems to be a problem that could make or break the deal. I frequently enter phone numbers as a note in outlook calendar (temporary contact thing), with the BB I could pull up the calendar and make a call from the number within, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the Eris, I've tried everything, does anybody have any suggestions.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had my Eris since Jan. I am on my 3rd replacement and 2nd in 3 weeks. My first one VZW just kept making excuses and wanting to do factory resets and delete apps because in their words that was the problem. The tech guy on the phone told me that they could only replace it with another eris again so here I sit with another POS that continues to lock up. I have been unable to make calls 80% of the time. What a joke On average I have to remove my battery 3-4 times a day to get it to work.

(im dialing a US number)... is there something else I can use.. I dont use google voice because i have an account with skype and most friends of mine do to... are they any work arounds for this?

The Eris on the other hand, I have none, it flips from no bars to X all day long. I can not receive calls nor can I make a call. Has anyone had problems with theirs? Or what might I be able to do ?

I can make a call, If I try to make a call after, the phone will lag on dialing then if it does connect I can't hear. If I receive a call it will answer but no sound. This happened after 2.1. I even did a factory reset and followed the upgrading instructions, everything else is fine except for this.

I updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.
So, first, here's what happened. Did a factory reset of my phone. When it came back up and I went to activate it, no data connection, unable to make phone calls. After 2 hours on the phone with VZW tech support, I can make calls, but have no data connection. They are sending me a "new" one. The concensus of the VZW tech and myself, problem with my phone. 2 days later, my wife resets her phone because of memory usage issues (she had to much on it). Same exact thing happened to her. Being the fiesty woman that she is she is going to a VZW store today to raise holy hell and throughorly degrade the poor rep that she is going to talk to, to get some answers. My question to all my fine fellow Eris users, have you seen this before? If in our position, do we deserve a new phone, and not an eris? Will this happen with a replacement eris due to a fault in the 2.1 update?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have to tell you, I am getting hella better battery life out of the leaked update versus 1.5 on the Hero. I am sitting at 1.5 days since last charged, and am at 50% battery. On the old firmware, I am possibly close to dead at this point. I wonder if the native support in 2.1 for the Sprint network is making that large a difference, or if wiping the phone somehow purged an energy guzzler from my machine. Whatever it is, I wondered if anyone else who updated is noticing a similar gain in battery longevity.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted and installed kaosfroyo and now cannot make or receive calls because my mic is not working. Call can be made but the person on the other end does not hear me.
A few other things are that my wifi and verizon data are not working. When I plug the usb I can't mount the SD card.
On the lock screen it says Sprint in the upper right.
I recently updated (OTA) my phone to 2.1 and was experiencing the silent call bug so I called and had a replacement sent to me.My question: How can I tell if the replacement is the OTA 2.1 or the leaked 2.1 since it came with it installed already?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI am running v3 and my wife has the OTA. The OTA is very buggy when compared to my v3. Can I flash her phone to v3? The main bug/problem with her OTA is that the phone constantly puts itself into silent mode. I did not believe it (I thought she was hitting the rocker) until i witnessed it happening. BTW a reset does not fix the issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to Verizon on my lunch break, and got assisted by the actual store supervisor, which was pretty cool. He was a blackberry guy, and didn't seem to know much about Android. Really nice though. He basically had me do basic diagnostics, but when i explained that it must be hardware in my phone not working since my facebook contacts where not syncing correctly. I also complained about dialer lag, and that i shouldn't have to reset my phone every month to keep it fast.
Now, it's clear that I was running the 2.1 leak. When he compared my settings to the ones on the store's Eris, he goes, "Are you running any other hack or anything on the phone?" I pleaded innocent and was like, "No...I just got the OTA from you guys. I don't know why they're different." He didn't once check the phones "About" section, and seemed to care more about fixing the problem. He had a "tech" look at it, but they couldn't figure anything out.
After 45 minutes or so, he says that if I can show him Facebook syncing on the stores Eris with -my- account, he'd swap the phone as defective for a referb. I did, and he did it, no questions asked. Now, back on 1.5...I also now have a pretty brand new phone. (No scratches or anything). I will say...in the time i had the phone with me at work till getting home now....1.5 is horrible. Oh. My. God. Thank GOD I flashed the leak when I did...the phone is horrible. So, project for tonight is Root. Wish me luck.
I don't know how to get my paid for copy of mybackup pro back on my phone after the install of the 2.1 leak. In the app store I only see the free version and I downloaded this and restored my other apps.

Am I out of luck until 2.1 is released officially so it will show up in the market or is there any way to just get the apk? I did pay for it so Im not trying to get a free file, but if anyone has a way to get it to me I can provide my recept that was emailed to me to show im honest.There were a few other programs, none paid, but ones I liked that dont work with 2.1's market. gUnit and tv.com for instance. All in all I think since those are the only bugs have personally seen in this software all is good
