I rooted and installed kaosfroyo and now cannot make or receive calls because my mic is not working. Call can be made but the person on the other end does not hear me.
A few other things are that my wifi and verizon data are not working. When I plug the usb I can't mount the SD card.
On the lock screen it says Sprint in the upper right.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having horrible signal problems. My old phone the ENV2 in the same exact seat I am in right now I had full signal strength. The Eris on the other hand, I have none, it flips from no bars to X all day long. I can not receive calls nor can I make a call. Has anyone had problems with theirs? Or what might I be able to do ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.

Phone and Bluetooth are both ok Our two laptops and the wireless printer have no problems. Everything else about this newly-rooted phone is terrific. What could I have done that degraded the WiFi radio? What can I do to get WiFi back?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI finally rooted my Eris and installed KaosFroyo. All seems ok, had some issues to deal with, but got them figured out. Yesterday, I wanted to connect to my slingplayer, but my app doesn't work. It just starts, then disappears. I never get a screen up. Any ideas, or is there a log somewhere on why it might be crashing or whatever is actually happening.I also tried to move it to the SD card in Manage Applications and it says it is copy protected. Not sure if that has any bearing on this, but thought I'd mention it.I do like the KaosFroyo and really didn't want to start over with a different ROM.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI saw somewhere that you can supposedly turn off your 3g (mobile network radio) and use wifi to make/receive calls. Is this true? I've attempted to test this out by using the mobile widget and turning it off. I can make and receive calls with only wifi on, but I still find it hard to believe. I'm assuming that I haven't fully turned off the 3g radio. Looking for options, as I work in a bad reception zone (basement).

When I dial ##7764726 on my phone it prompts to enter the password, 0000000 no longer works. Is this an issue with 2.2 in general or just KaosFroyo? Are there any known solutions? I've searched quite extensively and I can't find anything.
I rooted my phone successfully last night and installed MoDaCo.
Everything worked OK. Today I tried Cyanogen and it seemed to work OK. I've tried to install a couple of themes. One worked and one didn't.
I don't know when, but my phone will now not send or receive texts or calls. I still have a 3G data connection (back to MoDaCo) and the internet and Market work fine.
I really don't know what to do. The recovery image "recovery-ra-nexus..." seems to have disappeared from the bootloader. The phone isn't bricked so I guess that there is a way out of this?
SO I've restored my first Nand Backup which is the recovery image ra-nexus-v1.7.0.
It quoted restore complete. I backed up and rebooted. Weird thing is it boots up into Cyanogen ROM!!! And now I have no service, NOTHING!
I used my phone with no problem yesterday (made and received calls), then went to sleep and charged my phone overnight. When I woke up this morning, I tried to make a call and just got "this number is not in use", thought it was something to do with that persons number. Tried to call some other numbers and always got the same thing. I asked my brother to call me and it just went straight to voicemail. Then, when I opened "Phone" I noticed that there was something wrong with my last few calls made. Phone numbers here in Iceland are 7 letters, for example 1234567.. but all the recent calls I made looked like 6171234567, that 617 always got added before the number I tried to call and that made it fail. I only see 1234567 when trying to make the call, when I look at the phone while listening to "This number is not in use", I never see that 617 until I've hung up and check the call log. I did try to call +3541234567 though (354 being the Icelandic country code) and that went through fine. But if I don't use it, the 617 gets added. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I thought it might be some setting so automatically add a country/area code before a number or something like that, but didn't find anything in settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got my refurbished Captivate in the mail today, charged and activated it as per the instructions. It worked just fine for about 30 minutes or so. I put on a few apps and showed them off to my roommate, and things were going fine. Then all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive phone calls, nor was I able to get/send text messages. With no pattern or logic I would go from 3g to edge to neither of the two symbols (just full signal strength) to the international no sign where my full bars just were. If I typed and tried to send a text while the no sign was visible it would send and receive texts as soon as I got signal back, but that would only last a few minutes.
I've tried hard and soft resets and restoring the phone to factory settings, all to no avail, as well as checking my message center number. I've looked around in the forums and can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem, and I was hoping someone would have some advice or could point me to a thread that I may have missed. I'd talk to AT&T but chat hours are over and I have to be up early for work tomorrow and need my phone for that, so I'm not sure I can ask customer service tomorrow beforehand.
Any other o2 galaxy users finding they can't make/ receive calls atm? I ask as myself and my mate in the office (both galaxies) can't make calls or receive, but an iphone mate (also o2) can?
Anyone else? And any ideas?
Just got the mobile 3 days back.I am unable to make or receive calls on X10 from yesterday. Have tried the following things : 1) Switching Off 2) Updating the software. But both these methods have not helped. Able to use WAP/GPRS but calls are not getting connected. Have tried to change the call waiting settings, phone says Network or Sim Card Error.Signal strength is also pretty decent (3-4 bars). I have tried my sim in other phones Nokia, Samsung, and it works perfectly fine.Have tried other sims on X10 and they too are showing the same error. Can't figure out what the problem is?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a couple of days the phone is unable to make or receive calls, or send or receive txt messages.If I try and make a call it attempts to start the call, but immediately comes back with unavailable. Incoming calls go straight to voicemail. Outgoing txt messages don't work. What is strange is that if I try and browse the web (over 3G) then that works fine! I have tried doing a network scan again, and reregistering to Tmobile, but that doesn't make a difference.
If I turn the phone off and on again, then it is fine and all calls/txts are working again. I have seen this 4 times now with my phone. It doesn't always happen, but it has happened a few times now which is worrying. The annoying thing is that you obviously don't know when incoming calls stop. You only find out the problem has occured when you attempt to make a call or send a TXT.
I dropped my Pre today getting out of the car and it broke in half, and the phone radio died. Strangely the wifi still works but i cant make or receive phone calls and no 3G.
View 7 Replies View RelatedGot a problem with my new Samsung galaxy S2 that's stumping.Several times a day, for several minutes at a time, I'm unable or send or revive text messages. During this ~5 min window I am also unable to make or receive calls. Outgoing texts will time out and outgoing call just stay at "dialing" and then time out. The issue resolves itself after a few minutes.
NOTES:
• This started when I switched to an iPhone on Sprint from my Samsung Epic 4g on Sprint. Thinking it was the iPhone issue, I switched to a Galaxy SII... which does the exact same thing.
• I have signal bars the whole time
• my girlfriend, who shares the cell plan and my house never has this issue (she has an Evolution 4g)
• tried updating the PRL, profile and even had Sprint reset my MSID#.
• happened on stock EK02 ROM, and rooted EL29 roms.
Headphones are in but they are not and because of this i am unable to make or receive calls without putting it on loud speaker and are unable to play music without headphones.... does anyone know how to resolve the issue?

I searched and did everything (flashing another rom, factory resets, swapping SIM card, removing battery for 15 mins, etc.). Only thing that I haven't done is flashing modem, because I don't know if I can flash it on i9070.

Even after numerous factory resets, through both the Volume Down+Send+End and Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset methods, my Eris has been unable to send or receive texts, and will not allow me to send or receive calls. When I try to text, I get an SMS error with Cause Code: 34 and Error Class: 3. When I try to call, I get an automated error saying that my phone can't be authenticated at this time, and am advised to call #8899. Even after doing so, I get the same authentication error. Wi-Fi seems to work correctly, and my Google and Facebook accounts all sync pretty much perfectly. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? And, either way, does anyone know of any possible alternatives that may fix the problem besides a total replacement of the phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedTried to make a call today and it just sits at dialing and where it usually shows 1x icons its not there, just signal bars and gps icon. I thought reset would fix it but no, tried calling my phone goes to voicemail.
So I backed up my data and used reset in the security settings. Successfully made activation call to *228 and thought the problem is fixed, however when I tried placing call again it just sits at dialing screen for few seconds and ends the call.
Problem: Cannot receive SMS or MMS
Ever since flashing CyanogenTazz v5 ( Let me start by saying I DO NOT think this is related to the rom but rather to something that has happened in an effort to fix mms). Even flashing back to working White Widow ROM's as well as a full NAND restore to an older working WW4.6 still has the receive portion of SMS broken.
I had the same problems many had with mms..etc. I really don't use MMS, but I do use the normal sms text messaging quite a lot.
I can send texts(SMS) but get the same stuck "sending" on MMS.
This is where the problem is different, I have tried everything that i could find to try and fix this. The problem could have been caused by executing the 2 steps in the FAQ on the xda site under the Cyamogen Tazz thread ( Post 2).
What I have done to try and fix:
1) executed the step one fix on the FAQ post over on xda for CynanogenTazz regarding APN backup and restore. I even backed up the working APN from my daughters rooted 2.1 WW and tried to restore it, it failed. In doing so, I examined the xml files and noticed that the verizon stanza in her working one had APN="", vs what I had was APN=internet. I then made a copy of my file, edited the verizon stanza, saved it, deleted APN's and then restored the edited file. Same results.
2) I have wiped and flashed this thing so many times and in so many different orders in response to the 180+ threads have suggested to do. Like I stated above, I have also wiped and flashed back to WW as well as trying 3 other Froyo ROM's, all with the exact same results.
3) I also executed the 2nd option in the FAQ. This is where I thought I would have some luck as this actually replaces the apn-conf.xml and Mms.apk files in the system directory after mounted using adb.
This also did not work but has me thinking if there is something else that is sticking and perhaps needs to be replaced. I am hopefull that the CyanogenTazz v6 will fix my problem but since the problem is pervasive across all other roms, I am not optimistic.
I am just looking for some of you smart dev types out there that may know the inner workings of those apk modules or other modules ( radio?) that may need to be replaced/reflashed.
Sorry for the long post but I have tried to do my homework on this one and its driving me nuts, I would feel better if I had been able to flash back or NAND restore to something that works while waiting on v6 but now it doesnt seem to matter. ANY and ALL help is much appreciated. I also put my $$ where my mouth is and have donated to Tazz, Andrizoid and others on the forum for their help and progress and will continue to do so.
OK, so I've got the SDK installed... but, how in the friggin world do I know if it is working properly?!

I can make a call, but then if I try to make another, the phone will just go black. The other person says they can hear me, but I hear nothing. Is there a fix other than shutting off the phone after every call?
View 4 Replies View RelatedGoogle Voice runs flawlessly on my Droid. I recently purchased a Droid Eris for my wife, and while Google Voice SMS and inbound calling works fine, outbound calling does not. I notice that Google's "bridging number" used to connect me with the recipient on the Eris is different than the one used by my Droid. When dialing on my Droid, the call is routed through (518) 314-9466, while the problematic Eris is using (609) 987-0466. My wife's GV number is a (908) number which is probably why she is being routed through a (609) bridging number, both being South Jersey Area codes.
Does anyone think this is the problem? If so, is there a way to adjust which bridging number through which outbound calls are connnected. Has anyone else suffered this issue? We are really concerned as Google Voice integration was the primary reason for purchasing this phone. I thought to add that (i) I am using version 0.2.8 in all instances, (ii) the Eris has been updated with the recent OTA update from Verizon (though I didn't have a chance to use Google Voice beforehand to to determine if this is a post-update issue or not) and (iii) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the market multiple times in hopes of rectifying this issue.
I used *228 and pressed 1 and did it again and pressed 2 neither worked and still cant make calls.
