View 49 Replies View RelatedIt all started with a awesome home page and wanting to screenshoot it and finding out my Droid2 did not have software or shortcut keys like my GT7 to do this. So I read for some time until I felt confident in a safe rooting procedure which turned out to be the "Z4Root App". It's ridicously easy with the Droid2, download it, install it, open it, click "root permantley" and bang you've been granted root_access. After rooting I went with Screenshot Ultimate which claims screenshots can be done w/o Root which turned out to be untrue but w/root it works without a hitch. Unfortunately, it saves your screenshots in a very stupid place but you can access them through a file manager not the gallery but none the less it has accomplished the goal. Im curious to see how far root_access can take me

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis folder includes screen shots that are used for Internet Browser bookmarks. It also includes screen shots of web pages that I did not choose to bookmark. When I clear cache while in "Internet" in "Manage Applications" it does not remove these jpg files that are not being used for bookmarks. When I clear everything while in Internet app (in settings) it does not remove these jpg files either. It also does not remove them from within the HistoryEraser app. The only way I can remove the jpg files is with Astro or when connected to PC. I have to go through them and erase jpgs that I do not want there.
There were 72 jpg files in that directory and they go all the way back to when I got phone (on 4/29). I have only added 5 bookmarks myself during that time. They do not take up a lot of space but I just don't want them there.
I have my DrInc rooted with Adryn's third wave but I still don't know how to take screenshots. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. I'm sure its extremely easy but island how to do it.

It's just too hard for them. Why can't Android make it as easy as on iPhone (pushing two buttons together)?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo instead of going the rooted route out of fear of voiding my warranty and tampering with my phone, I've done extensive searching on how I can capture screenshots using my Mac OSX (10.4.11). I'm at my wit's end after encountering a multitude of issues and have even tried using a Windows PC which didn't work either for a different reason. Every time I try opening up the DDMS on my Mac, there's a window that pops up saying: There is no default application specified to open the document "ddms". After seeing if certain applications would make it open, it doesn't work. Where do I go from here? Aside from having the latest Java software (which I'm not even sure, although whenever I check for updates there's no option for it on the list), do I need anything else to make it open and operate? If anyone could help me out here I would GREATLY appreciate it. I wanted to drop in on the "Post your Screenshots!" thread but I would've looked like a pendejo with my ghetto-fab pictures of my phone shot from my digital camera.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhy couldn't android just make it simple to take a damn screenshot? I have the SDK and it worked awhile back and now it wont work at all. There is no reason why my phone shouldn't be able to take a screenshot without having to root or hook it up to my computer and now that wont even work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to take screenshots on my android phone. I'm an app developer and have a pretty good understanding of the regular API, and I know this steps out of the "regular" thing quite a bit. I would have root access. I've seen a few apps that do this. I'm just wondering how one goes about doing it. Anybody know the general direction I should be looking in?

The only part i couldn't do was the driver part. I plugged the phone in with USB Debugging on, it found a HTC phone (on XP), so i thought that was enough.
When i open DDMS.bat (Davlik) it opens, but there's no device, so I'm unable to take the screenshot.
Any help appreciated. (I'd like to add to the Desktop Theme thread)
So the pictures I take sync with google drive, but not the screenshots.
I am using a samsung galaxy s4, i9505.
my environments:
Nexus 7 (2013) - Android 4.4.2 - Language Japanese
PC - Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
While connecting Nexus 7 and PC (Windows) via USB cable, after taking a screenshot on Nexus 7 (using Power + VolumeDown), a png-file of Screenshot is saved, but its file-size is zero (of course, png graphics is not shown).
Once USB cable is unplugged, the png-file gets correct file-size, and png graphics is visible.
I hope taking screenshots while connecting Nexus and PC.
One of the lacking features of my trusty iPhone has been the lack of a zoom feature on the camera. Last week I purchased the new Galaxy S4 Zoom and cannot tell you how very happy I am with the zoom feature. I am still exploring the Android operating system and having a good time.
However, I cannot find out how you capture the screen. This is a simple operation on the iPhone (two buttons held), and have to believe that the same is true with the Galaxy Zoom.
Our family is really into weather stuff and I often capture a screen image from WeatherBug and email it to the kids.
I've been seeing screenshots appearing in my gallery without me remembering taking them. What app is taking those screenshots, or a way to fix it? Nexus 7
