Mar 20, 2010I saw that amazon kindle has an app for iPhone. Anyone know if I can buy ebooks from Amazon that I can read on my phone? I have an eris.

Motorola Droid :: Use Phone To Read Books / App To Do So?
May 8, 2010Is there a good way for me to use my Droid to read books? I presently use an IPOD touch and the kindle reader app but I was thinking on selling it. Do any of you use the Droid as a book reader? If so what app do you use and where do you order books that can be used with that apps reader?
Also I know you can play videos on the Droid. If I wanted to put my own ripped movies on the Droid can I do that? Does the droid recognize XVID or Mpeg? What movie player would I need to use? I have a whole bunch of tv dvd's that I want to rip and watch on the train.
General :: Internet Access Required For Reading Kindle Books?
Aug 7, 2011This may sounds like a silly question but I don't have a smart phone and am thinking of getting an Android phone.
I noticed that Amazon has Kindle for Android application and I want to use the Android phone to read Kindle books.
If internet access is not required to read the Kindle book on the Android phone, then it means I can read the Kindle book in a remote area where there is no wireless service. Also, I don't incur long distance charges if I read the kindle book outside my local dialing area.
1. After I purchased the Kindle book from Amazon, do I need internet access to read the Kindle book on the Android phone (using Kindle for Android software)?
2. Is the Kindle azw file sitting physically in the Android phone?
General :: How To Convert And Sync Books To Kindle Using Android Tablet
Mar 5, 2013It seems amazon really makes things a little complicated trying to concert PDF files into ePub files and sync with the default kindle app. I cannot get kindle to recognize the books I converted for anything. I downloaded file explorer and I'm moving it into the kindle app and into the amazon android folder and no luck. Does converted PDFs to other formats know which folder it's supposed to go into?

Nov 2, 2010Imagine my surprise when I went to open a purchased book on my Kindle App, and was told that I had exceeded the max number of devices registered to my Kindle account. Upon further investigation, I found that each time I flashed a new rom, it registered as a new device on my Kindle / Amazon account! This was easily rectified by deregistering all but the "6th Eris Device" and I'm good to go. Just thought I'd share this with those readers here who use the Kindle App - no need to do a small flip-out, like I did.

The only thing is, now my kindle app won't work (not a huge deal, I've got it on my ipod too.) I'm running cyanogenmod 5.0.8 with the smoked glass theme and a 1.2GHz kernel.

Jan 27, 2014I have a problem on my Asus ME301T tablet with the Play Books app (I'm running android 4.2). Regular text based books work just fine, however, comic books show as blank pages. Sometimes it will load a few pages if I rotate the screen a few times.
I've tried to reinstall the app and redownload the comics without luck. It works fine on my Samsung i9000 running android 4.3.

Aug 24, 2010I really really really want a kindle 2 reader, but it isn't my birthday until December, so I've downloaded the kindle for Android application to my Sony Ericsson X10 Experia, I've only downloaded one book so far, but I read it within a day, I noticed at the end of the book that it said "quick read". Are all the books supplied quick reads? Is this the same on the Kindle reader? If this is the case I won't be buying one, I want the full version of the books!

Sep 9, 2010Anyone know of a way to remove the Amazon MP3 Store application from an Eris? I have root access thanks to Universal 1 Click, but I don't see a way to remove this application. It keeps starting itself and I don't ever use it. While I do use apps on my phone I don't even play music on it.
Using AndExplorer I can navigate to my App folder and see that I can reinstall by clicking on the Amazommp3.apk file, but it won't let me delete that file and there is no uninstall option.
