HTC has fix in the works for EVO 4G screen sensitivity; separation problems are minor -- Engadget
Question is when are these new phones gonna come out and how hard is it gonna be to convince them to exchange it after 30 days. I might just return my phone at 30 days and get the new hardware when it's ready.

I was wondering if there is a way to turn down the sensitivity for landscape rotation. Sometimes when I just sit my phone down on my desk, even if I only turn it a little bit, it goes landscape. It's kind of annoying because then when I pick it up, I have to turn it landscape and back to portrait so the accelerometer picks up that I'm turning it. It seems too sensitive at times.

Anyone else have problems with sensitivity after applying a screen protector?Which protector do you recommend?I was using some crap from TMobile for like $15. It streaks a ton, and seems to give me problems with sensitivity on the real screen.

how to adjust screen sensitivity under Android, specifricaly Froyo on Nexus One?
I'm trying to research this topic but there seems to be very little information about this. I can't find any tool, script or custom rom that would allow screen sensitivity to be adjusted.
I found a thread talking about doing it for Liqid's touch using script but that's about it. I took a look on the script and I can't move forward with it as the path's script uses do not exists in my Nexus One. The goal is to make the screen more sensitive then it is as a default.
Thread reference above:
[URL]
Script:
#!/system/bin/sh
sensitivity=25
noise=25
echo "set sensitivity to $sensitivity"
echo $sensitivity > /sys/devices/platform/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-005c/sensitivity
echo "set noise to $noise"
echo $noise > /sys/devices/platform/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-005c/noise
echo "done"

And the gold toggle thingy is USELESS when trying to click on an icon. Is there a way to lower the sensitivity of the screen or the toggle? In a. Normal 20 minute browsing session I have to hit back at LEAST 10 times due to ever so slightly mis-touches.

I'm just going crazy (wouldn't put it past myself) but it almost seems as if after I rooted my droid and starting using Pete's BB Roms (currently using 0.4) my touch sensitivity on the screen has decreased. I've been finding that I've had to tap more than once (sometimes repeatedly) on some functions to get a response that I previously had no trouble with.I've not tried any other ROMs and I haven't gone back to stock to test.I also am NOT using any type of screen protector.Has anyone else had similar issues?

I can't find anything on this function. I.E. For those with a heavier touch, unwanted applications are opened when scrolling or navigating around the screen. For example, my contact list.I'll be running down the list to let's say the " R's " and when I get near the person I want to contact and slide the list up or down to center their view, it seems like the slightest touch anywhere besides right on their name opens up the wrong one.

I've had my hero for about 10 days now. So far I am loving it way more than my old winmo phone.That said, I find that the screen is just not nearly as touch sensitive as my ipod touch and im kind of disappointed. I have to press things sometimes 2 or 3 times to get it go. Especially in the corners
1. I did do the text alignment delay
2. I have a screen protector. Its a $20 Invisible Shield by ZAGG that is off the shelf. Could that be causing the slow and unresponsive screen? What do you guys use?
3. Does the hero really NEED a screen protector? I previously had an HTC touch DIAMOND and i didn't use a screen protector evre and it got scratched up to HELL. Just for reference, I used my ipod almost in the same way (in and out of jeans pocket, not with keys, etc) and it didn't scratch AT ALL.Any way to improve this would make me way less disappointed here.

Sometimes the touchscreen is just fine, but other times it falls in sensitivity.I find myself have to press down hard on the screen in order for it to recognize the touch.This has been the case both with or without a screen protector.Anyone else experience this? Can this be improved in any way by the future 2.1 update?

II'm running Sapphire 1.0 with incognito theme on my droid, and its a great ROM, but I keep getting some pretty lengthy screen and application loading lags that are getting frustrating. Some apps are randomly force closing too, specifically.Maps. I'm just wondering if there's a way to reduce all this in some of the setup/settings/spare parts, or if there is a ROM best for transition speed and minimum lag.

When using 2.2 on the HTC Desire, select ISO 800 in the photo settings, rather than auto, then switch camera to video as normal. This will considerably reduce the flickering / stuttering during playback when recording at 720p.

I don't suppose there is a way to reduce the amount of space around the icons for apps/folders? When you remove the text under the images you could easily fit an extra row of icons on a homescreen by getting rid of some of the blank space.

But sometimes other small parts/and or button commands lock-up. For example; since I am new to Swype, I decided to take the tutorial and each time I would click (or even tried to slide) the next button, it wouldn't respond took about 5-7 tries.While on the phone with tech/and CS yesterday (for whole diff issue), I asked about the Capacitive Button Sensitivity - as mine wasn't working that well either (as others have mentioned). Tech had me remove the battery for 2 full minutes, and put back in - and now the Capacitive Buttons works perfectly.Anyone else having partial screen/certain buttons not responding to commands? I guess I could try removing the battery again, but I am not sure that will fix it.

Yesterday when I was going to sleep, I had my phone plugged in when I received a text. I attempted to unlock the phone, and it wouldn't! I started freaking out a bit, finally was able to unlock it, but had a tough time replying using the keyboard. It seemed the screen was spazzing out. When I unplugged the phone, everything was fine. I installed the free Paint application and ran some tests. As can be seen, using a charger that outputs > 850mA (the stock charger's value) is no good for touch sensitivity. If anyone can chime in with other concerns, that would be very helpful. I find that the 1000mA charger definitely charges the phone faster; does anyone think that this is bad for the phone (aside from the screen issue)?
I misread the stock charger's amperage initially; I thought it was 250mA, which is why I'm using the 1000mA. I think for now I'll switch to the stock charger. I would like to use the 1000mA if any other users think that would be fine. I don't have a problem unplugging it to use it.

My HTC Desire applications (most noted are weather widget, friendstream etc) don't update them frequently. I mean, an hour or two pass by and the applications still show out-of-date information and then I do them manually. Any help on this? How can I reduce time for updates to 15 minutes?

This is a problem that has been annoying me for some time, but has recently become ridiculous. As we all know the internal memory is pretty small on the Desire, and i've tried to be conservative with the apps I install (unless I know they can be moved to SD). However, despite this i'm constantly low in internal memory. at the moment, the only apps i have installed on the internal memory are beautiful widgets (1.36mb), colornote (524kb), facebook (3.05mb), mixzing (3.70mb), multicon (316kb), swiftkey (1.84mb), (tasker (1.43mb), voice search (2.54mb) .everything else I have moved to the SD card via app2sd or through the recently posted trick to get all apps to automatically install to SD. As you can see, the apps I have installed (obviously this excludes all the various htc stuff that comes preinstalled etc) falls far short of the supposed 148mb that i have available to install apps, so can anyone shed any light on what might be going on? I've tried clearing various caches to try and free up some spece but this has barely had any impact and this is truly starting to bug me. I've got a desire on 2.2

Has anyone else noticed the battery charge does not seem to last well? I have the wifi turned off and only enable it when required but just general usage seems to sap the power quite quickly. At the moment I'm not sure a full charge would even last a day! Are there any smart apps out there to help manage this? Do widgets relly use that much power? The Android OS itself seems to use an alarming amount of power as does everything else!

Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

Is there any reason why SQL became case sensitive with Froyo (2.2)? I was tracking down why I have an Error reported which doesn't occur on my 2.1 phone nor on earlier OS version emulation with SimpleCursorAdapter.My bad was that between two selectable databases that one had lower case fields and the other that fields in uppercase. Usually this would make no difference with SQL as it is supposed to be case insensitive according to my investigations.

When I record video on my htc-magic, the sound is recorded very quietly. (is also quiet after uploaded to YouTube etc.) Is there a way to boost the sensitivity of the microphone? Sound is also very quiet when using one of the voice recorder apps. Speaker on magic is fine (if not very tinny), can hear beebplayer, youtube etc. at reasonable level. Also made sure my fingers are not covering the microphone hole (next to USB port)

Is there a way to adjust this? I was at a concert last night and tried to record a few clips, and when I got home, everything is muffled as hell. I found someone else who posted a video of the concert and was maybe ~15-20' from where I was at, yet theres is clear. I doubt it was from another incredible, but I've had this issue with digital cameras too. Any way I can fix this so I can get some good clips next time i go to a concert?
