Motorola Droid :: Increasing Touch Screen Sensitivity

View 7 RepliesI can't find anything on this function. I.E. For those with a heavier touch, unwanted applications are opened when scrolling or navigating around the screen. For example, my contact list.I'll be running down the list to let's say the " R's " and when I get near the person I want to contact and slide the list up or down to center their view, it seems like the slightest touch anywhere besides right on their name opens up the wrong one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to adjust the sensitivity for the Touch Screen on the new EVO. It works very well, almost too well, it is very sensitive.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst off thanks for all the great info. I have been lurking for a while and couldn't have rooted without your guys After I rooted my Eris (Now running Non sensible 13.2 after trying tazz froyo and a few others) I now have problems with my touch screen, especially on the upper right side quadrant. Just curious if anyone has any solutions or has experienced the same type of problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to turn up the sensitivity on the touch screen? It seems decent enough, but it is no where near as resposive as my old iPhone. Why? It just seems like I have to touch everything on the screen twice.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had my hero for about 10 days now. So far I am loving it way more than my old winmo phone. That said, I find that the screen is just not nearly as touch sensitive as my ipod touch and im kind of disappointed. I have to press things sometimes 2 or 3 times to get it go. Especially in the corners
1. I did do the text alignment delay
2. I have a screen protector. Its a $20 Invisible Shield by ZAGG that is off the shelf. Could that be causing the slow and unresponsive screen? What do you guys use?
3. Does the hero really NEED a screen protector? I previously had an HTC touch DIAMOND and i didn't use a screen protector evre and it got scratched up to HELL. Just for reference, I used my ipod almost in the same way (in and out of jeans pocket, not with keys, etc) and it didn't scratch AT ALL.Any way to improve this would make me way less disappointed here.
Sometimes the touchscreen is just fine, but other times it falls in sensitivity.I find myself have to press down hard on the screen in order for it to recognize the touch. This has been the case both with or without a screen protector.Anyone else experience this? Can this be improved in any way by the future 2.1 update?
View 14 Replies View Relatedanyone have a dock like me and when you try to push app icons or enter calendar info or try to type, the Droid wigs out? You push here but the app 2 apps over highlights or opens. Try to long press on the Calendar to do an input and the page just jiggles back and fourth like it cannot decide what your doing? Use your finger to flick to another home screen, and instead, it triggers the app shelf to open.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI don't see where anyone has asked this before, so I guess I'm the first?I find myself selecting items when all I want to do it scroll down the page. I find myself calling people when all I want to do is scroll down my contacts list, and while browsing on the internet, scrolling through a web page ends up with me selecting hyperlinks instead. Is there a way to make it so you have to keep your finger on an item a little longer to actually select it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIt seems like since the 2.1 install, the home button is not nearly as sensitive. Also the screen sensitivity seems lower as well. I have to try several times to get it to click. Is there a way to change the sensitivity??
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnd the gold toggle thingy is USELESS when trying to click on an icon. Is there a way to lower the sensitivity of the screen or the toggle? In a. Normal 20 minute browsing session I have to hit back at LEAST 10 times due to ever so slightly mis-touches.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm just going crazy (wouldn't put it past myself) but it almost seems as if after I rooted my droid and starting using Pete's BB Roms (currently using 0.4) my touch sensitivity on the screen has decreased. I've been finding that I've had to tap more than once (sometimes repeatedly) on some functions to get a response that I previously had no trouble with.I've not tried any other ROMs and I haven't gone back to stock to test.I also am NOT using any type of screen protector.Has anyone else had similar issues?
View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday when I was going to sleep, I had my phone plugged in when I received a text. I attempted to unlock the phone, and it wouldn't! I started freaking out a bit, finally was able to unlock it, but had a tough time replying using the keyboard. It seemed the screen was spazzing out. When I unplugged the phone, everything was fine. I installed the free Paint application and ran some tests. As can be seen, using a charger that outputs > 850mA (the stock charger's value) is no good for touch sensitivity. If anyone can chime in with other concerns, that would be very helpful. I find that the 1000mA charger definitely charges the phone faster; does anyone think that this is bad for the phone (aside from the screen issue)?
I misread the stock charger's amperage initially; I thought it was 250mA, which is why I'm using the 1000mA. I think for now I'll switch to the stock charger. I would like to use the 1000mA if any other users think that would be fine. I don't have a problem unplugging it to use it.
I am the developer of WordUp! This game makes heavy use of the View touch apis to detect press and drag gestures across the letter cubes. Once in a while, I'll get a complaint (unfortunately coupled with a lower star rating) related to not being able to press and drag very easily. For example: "Would be fantastic if touch sensitivity wasn't so off-I had to practically dig my finger into the screen and drag it to connect letters." As a developer, this is really frustrating as I think this is an issue with the HTC Dream 1 hardware and possibly the Android 1.1 OS. I don't think it's fair that I would get dinged for a problem which rightly falls into the court of HTC/Google. In my experience with my own dev phone, I have found that a certain amount of natural oil on your fingertip makes a big difference in how easy it is to press and drag. I know that the touch screen is based on electrical current and, as such, it makes sense that the more oil on your finger, the better "connection" your finger will make with the screen. Perhaps the aforementioned user windexes the screen on a regular basis or compulsively hand-washes? In any case, I am requesting some reasonable explanation for this as I know it's not an isolated incident.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Pantech sky LTE A800s android phone. Recently, I've having this random lost of touch sensitivity!!! After having this problem for a few weeks, My phone suddenly lost its touch sensitivity completely. I had it rooted and it's running on a Vietnamese custom ROM then recently updated it to the latest Jelly-bean with the stock ROM and root-removed. And, this problem only happen in the lock screen. If I've got through the lock screen(If the sensitivity works), everything works fine. Also, all the hard keys work fine throughout this problem.
I've tried to install different ROMs and factory reset several times but nothing worked. I brought it to te store where I bought it the other day and they told me that this can be fixed but it'd cost more than a new one.
Here is the picture of the phone if you're not familiar with it:
(This phone is also running on the new stock ROM)
I bought a new droid for $20 haha lucky i think until i notice that the touch screen only works for the middle of the screen to the left so if yu cut the screen into thirds only the middle and left work assuming that yu cut it from top to bottom with the lights at the bottom for the home button etc. I opened it up cleaned all the flex cable with alcohol and waited for it to dry and it still does the same thing so my question is = do i need a new digitizer or is it a software problem or something that i dont even know?

View 8 Replies View RelatedCurrently to open the screen so i can click on my home screen I have to press one of the 4 hard buttons to get the unlock screen to come up then slide the unlock button across the screen. Is there any way to make it so that just touching the screen will cause the unlock screen button to show up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo over the past few days I'll go to use my phone only to find that I can't make the screen work. I can't swipe my pattern or even touch to power down the phone therefore requiring I used the d-pad to select shut down. Its happened about 4 times now, twice yesterday and once this morning. Is it a froyo issue? Or just my certified "like-new" breaking after 2 months already?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've only had my Droid a few weeks and am still getting used to it. Yesterday, on a business trip, it was working fine. I plugged it in last night, and now the screen is not responding to my touch (it is loading messages because I can hear the tone). I can't unlock it, I can't turn it off. What have I done and how can I fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt happened the other day, after a battery pull it would work for about 3 min and lock up. I did a factory reset and it worked for a couple days now it is doing it again. I didn't install any new apps either time. Anyone else have or hear about problems like this? should I return it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the x and I'm trying to find the touch calibrating screen. Anyone help a newbie out!
View 10 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid X on launch day from Best Buy, and like most people here, I am very happy with my phone. However, I've been having a problem and I don't know if anyone else has been having it. Sometimes when I'm typing on Swype, or just using the phone in general, my finger won't register on the screen. For example if I'm typing a word, the line in Swype will get disconnected, and thus I will not have the right word. Also on my homescreen, when this happens I would not be able to switch between homescreens. If I lock my phone and unlock it again, usually this seems to fix the problem. I'd say at least once every 10 times I use my phone.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Touch screen was acting up the last few days (not responding intermittently) and then yesterday I installed a new rom from Jrummy (Kangerade V5.0.9)... once it booted up I was unable to "Touch the Droid to Start" or whatever is says and after multiple battery pulls and restoring to old roms, nothing has changed.. When they boot up I cant get past the lock screen..
I went to Verizon and they are sending me out a new phone should be here tomorrow or Friday. Do I need to be worried about sending a rooted phone back to Verizon? Is there anything that I can try to do to unroot with out my touch screen working? Is there a way to get the screen working again?
I can still boot into Clockwork Recovery, and all the hard buttons work. Obviously I am a novice with all of this, so your patients and understanding is appreciated.
I have looked all over, and done a few searches already, but that don't mean I'm not blind.
How do you/Can you calibrate the screen touch points on the DX? I seem to have to aim slightly lower left of every thing I want to hit. Sadly it seems to be getting worse or well, I'm blinder than I thought.
Is there a way to disable the vibration when using the dial pad to dial out on the touch screen? Every time I dial a number feels like I'm getting zapped to death.. The vibration is way to strong. Any help is appreciated..
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust like it says, when I plug my phone in at night to charge, after a bit the screen no longer responds to touch inputs until I unplug it.About the only exception is a tap to engage snooze in the AM. To unlock or answer a text I have to unplug it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMaybe I'm missing something but in the WinMo version of Swype theres an option to double a word that came out wrong and choose from a list of alternatives. That function doesn't seem to be included in the android one. I don't have nearly as many mistakes now with a capacitive touch screen as opposed to my old resistive, but I still get one every now and again and its easier to do that than place the cursor, backspace, and re-swype.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid X yesterday and for the most part I'm impressed. (I didn't realize how much I liked HTC's Sense UI until replaced my Incredible with this phone.)
So far my only frustration is the touch screen. When I'm swiping between home screens, or even in applications, it often doesn't register anything or it'll open the first icon I touch even though I'm swiping. Sometimes I have to press an icon a couple times before it'll open up as well. This is getting REALLY frustrating because I can't just do things quickly but I have to watch to see if what I selected actual opens or swipes, etc.
I've only installed a few applications, including LauncherPro. Is anybody else having any issues like this?
Any one have this happen? I reboot, turned off overclock (was at 800mhz), pull battery, no go. Think it could be rom related? I am thinking of installing a new rom and wiping the phone, not sure.
Anyone have this happen before?
