Is there any way to increase the sensitivity, when I pull the screen down I have to do it twice before the screen moves, any other movement is ok, its only when pulling the screen down or is this a faulty screen.

I've had my hero for about 10 days now. So far I am loving it way more than my old winmo phone.That said, I find that the screen is just not nearly as touch sensitive as my ipod touch and im kind of disappointed. I have to press things sometimes 2 or 3 times to get it go. Especially in the corners
1. I did do the text alignment delay
2. I have a screen protector. Its a $20 Invisible Shield by ZAGG that is off the shelf. Could that be causing the slow and unresponsive screen? What do you guys use?
3. Does the hero really NEED a screen protector? I previously had an HTC touch DIAMOND and i didn't use a screen protector evre and it got scratched up to HELL. Just for reference, I used my ipod almost in the same way (in and out of jeans pocket, not with keys, etc) and it didn't scratch AT ALL.Any way to improve this would make me way less disappointed here.
Sometimes the touchscreen is just fine, but other times it falls in sensitivity.I find myself have to press down hard on the screen in order for it to recognize the touch.This has been the case both with or without a screen protector.Anyone else experience this? Can this be improved in any way by the future 2.1 update?

However doing speed tests on my phone while connected to the Netgear router the highest speeds I seem to be able to get is around 2 Mbps. Performance
� Do some graphical tweaks...
1. Install Spare parts
2. Set Window animations > Fast
3. Set Transition animations > Fast
4. Set Wifi sleep policy > Never While Plugged
� Adjust the Android memory management...
1. Install Autokiller
2. Menu > Presets
3. Most people have best results with 'Moderate' but you could also try 'Optimum'
4. Menu > Settings > tick 'Apply settings on boot'
Battery
� Wipe your battery stats...
1. Allow the phone to discharge completely
2. Boot into recovery (hold Home and press On) plug the phone in if you don't have enough charge to get into recovery
3. Select Wipe > Wipe battery stats
4. Go back and Reboot
5. Leave the phone to do a complete charge (preferably over night)
� Adjust your radio settings...
1. Go to Settings > About phone > System updates > Update PRL (it's normal that the phone process will force close at this point and the radio will reboot)
2. Go to your dialer
3. Dial *#*#INFO#*#*
4. Click 'Phone information'
5. Scroll down to the first dropdown selection and set according to your preference below...
� WCDMA preferred (default) - This will automatically switch you between G/E/3G/H depending on the best signal available by constantly monitoring all signals. This uses the most battery.
� WCDMA Only - If you only want to use 3G/H (3G) and do not want to use G/E (2G) select this.
� GSM auto (PRL) - This is the preferred option as it will allow you to use G/E/3G/H but uses the PRL list on your phone (provided by your carrier in the PRL update) rather than constantly monitoring all frequencies thus saving your battery. This may not work with all carriers if you have difficulty getting mobile data in some areas you will have to use one of the other options.
� GSM only - If you only use G/E (2G) select this (it's the same as selecting '2G only' through the settings menu). This option uses the least battery.
Upon making your selection the radio will reboot and the setting is saved, so just back out back to the dialer and you are done.

Question is when are these new phones gonna come out and how hard is it gonna be to convince them to exchange it after 30 days. I might just return my phone at 30 days and get the new hardware when it's ready.
Is there a way to decrease the sensitivity? When I scroll a lot of time I always end up selecting something or changing a setting a check or something and have no idea what I changed.I need to turn it down a bit...

I was tracking down why I have an Error reported which doesn't occur on my 2.1 phone nor on earlier OS version emulation with SimpleCursorAdapter.My bad was that between two selectable databases that one had lower case fields and the other that fields in uppercase. Usually this would make no difference with SQL as it is supposed to be case insensitive according to my investigations.

(is also quiet after uploaded to YouTube etc.) Is there a way to boost the sensitivity of the microphone? Sound is also very quiet when using one of the voice recorder apps. Speaker on magic is fine (if not very tinny), can hear beebplayer, youtube etc. at reasonable level. Also made sure my fingers are not covering the microphone hole (next to USB port)

Is there a way to adjust this? I was at a concert last night and tried to record a few clips, and when I got home, everything is muffled as hell. I found someone else who posted a video of the concert and was maybe ~15-20' from where I was at, yet theres is clear. I doubt it was from another incredible, but I've had this issue with digital cameras too. Any way I can fix this so I can get some good clips next time i go to a concert?

Sometimes I know it's OS lag, but other times i really think/thought it was an issue with the buttons.I changed my default keyboard from Samsung to Android and I think the buttons work great now. Can anyone else confirm? Maybe it's just in my head.

Sometimes when I just sit my phone down on my desk, even if I only turn it a little bit, it goes landscape. It's kind of annoying because then when I pick it up, I have to turn it landscape and back to portrait so the accelerometer picks up that I'm turning it. It seems too sensitive at times.

I'm trying to research this topic but there seems to be very little information about this. I can't find any tool, script or custom rom that would allow screen sensitivity to be adjusted.
I found a thread talking about doing it for Liqid's touch using script but that's about it. I took a look on the script and I can't move forward with it as the path's script uses do not exists in my Nexus One. The goal is to make the screen more sensitive then it is as a default.

For some reason the four buttons at the bottom aren't as sensitive as the touch screen. When tapping on icons on the touch screen, i can pretty much just use my finger nail, but to get the button on the bottom to consistently respond, I have to push and hold with my entire thumb. Anyone else have this problem? Is there some way to turn up the sensitivity?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've hadf my kyocera rise through Virgin Mobile for a little over a year now and for the first time, I'm having an issue. My power/lock button has somehow become extremely sensitive to the point where it's a pain. I can slide my finger over the button to activate the lock/unlock sequence and after I press the button the power off option comes up. If I stick a needle under the button, it stops so I assume something is wedged in it. But No matter how often I clean it out with a needle, it continues to mess up.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am the developer of WordUp! This game makes heavy use of the View touch apis to detect press and drag gestures across the letter cubes. Once in a while, I'll get a complaint (unfortunately coupled with a lower star rating) related to not being able to press and drag very easily. For example: "Would be fantastic if touch sensitivity wasn't so off-I had to practically dig my finger into the screen and drag it to connect letters." As a developer, this is really frustrating as I think this is an issue with the HTC Dream 1 hardware and possibly the Android 1.1 OS. I don't think it's fair that I would get dinged for a problem which rightly falls into the court of HTC/Google. In my experience with my own dev phone, I have found that a certain amount of natural oil on your fingertip makes a big difference in how easy it is to press and drag. I know that the touch screen is based on electrical current and, as such, it makes sense that the more oil on your finger, the better "connection" your finger will make with the screen. Perhaps the aforementioned user windexes the screen on a regular basis or compulsively hand-washes? In any case, I am requesting some reasonable explanation for this as I know it's not an isolated incident.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm just going crazy (wouldn't put it past myself) but it almost seems as if after I rooted my droid and starting using Pete's BB Roms (currently using 0.4) my touch sensitivity on the screen has decreased. I've been finding that I've had to tap more than once (sometimes repeatedly) on some functions to get a response that I previously had no trouble with.I've not tried any other ROMs and I haven't gone back to stock to test.I also am NOT using any type of screen protector.Has anyone else had similar issues?

For example, my contact list.I'll be running down the list to let's say the " R's " and when I get near the person I want to contact and slide the list up or down to center their view, it seems like the slightest touch anywhere besides right on their name opens up the wrong one.
