And the gold toggle thingy is USELESS when trying to click on an icon. Is there a way to lower the sensitivity of the screen or the toggle? In a. Normal 20 minute browsing session I have to hit back at LEAST 10 times due to ever so slightly mis-touches.

I'm just going crazy (wouldn't put it past myself) but it almost seems as if after I rooted my droid and starting using Pete's BB Roms (currently using 0.4) my touch sensitivity on the screen has decreased. I've been finding that I've had to tap more than once (sometimes repeatedly) on some functions to get a response that I previously had no trouble with.I've not tried any other ROMs and I haven't gone back to stock to test.I also am NOT using any type of screen protector.Has anyone else had similar issues?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI can't find anything on this function. I.E. For those with a heavier touch, unwanted applications are opened when scrolling or navigating around the screen. For example, my contact list.I'll be running down the list to let's say the " R's " and when I get near the person I want to contact and slide the list up or down to center their view, it seems like the slightest touch anywhere besides right on their name opens up the wrong one.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if anyone else has noticed this, I have searched around a bit so sorry if this has been covered before but this is my second Droid X to do this. When I lock the screen, my signal strength goes from 3-4 bars down to 1 bar after a few minutes. When I quickly tap the home button, but do NOT unlock the screen I can see that there is only 1 bar, and even sometimes the 3G icon is gone, (i.e. no data is transmitting, but I am getting a cell signal). Once I unlock the screen, I immediately will see the bars jump to either 3-4, depending on my location, and/or the 3G will pop back up (if it was missing in the first place).
My conclusions about this are that this is a reason why some devices crush the battery life and others don't. And, there is an issue with the phone hardware/software radio communications. If when the screen is locked it is losing signal and constantly going back and forth between 1x/3g/no data, that would explain why some people are having their battery dead within 5-6 hours. This phenomena is occurring on my second Droid X. I have yet to notify Motorola formally, other than through Verizon, but I wanted to see if anyone else out there is experiencing the same issues. Mind you, it is sometimes sporadic and others very consistent! There are times when the phone will be very hot in my pocket, and I suspect this is the reason. I know how to back out of applications and i can confirm that I do not have any running in the background that are sucking data.
Please keep in mind, I experience this with and without task killers and I live 5 minutes from Downtown Minneapolis where coverage is excellent. I also do not use Juice Defender or any other battery management program which may cut data when the screen is locked.
I'm new to the forums but I couldn't find an answer. I'm posting from the road, don't worry I'm not driving, but this screen is way to bright. Thw lowest the display goes is giving me eye strain. Is there any way to make the lowest setting lower?
View 10 Replies View RelatedYesterday when I was going to sleep, I had my phone plugged in when I received a text. I attempted to unlock the phone, and it wouldn't! I started freaking out a bit, finally was able to unlock it, but had a tough time replying using the keyboard. It seemed the screen was spazzing out. When I unplugged the phone, everything was fine. I installed the free Paint application and ran some tests. As can be seen, using a charger that outputs > 850mA (the stock charger's value) is no good for touch sensitivity. If anyone can chime in with other concerns, that would be very helpful. I find that the 1000mA charger definitely charges the phone faster; does anyone think that this is bad for the phone (aside from the screen issue)?
I misread the stock charger's amperage initially; I thought it was 250mA, which is why I'm using the 1000mA. I think for now I'll switch to the stock charger. I would like to use the 1000mA if any other users think that would be fine. I don't have a problem unplugging it to use it.
Had to remove it from my home screen and now can't find it for the life of me. Where is it? Found it. Touch and hold on screen/ Widgets/ scroll down to WiFi toggle.

I really like the eris for the price, however the droid has a lot of perks too like bigger higher res screen, more modern cpu, and improved battery life. I plan to root either device. What do you guys think, will I be disappointed with an eris? Is the smaller lower res screen bad for browsing? Can I expect to leave the wifi radio on all day for voip without too much in the way of battery life problems?

anyone have a dock like me and when you try to push app icons or enter calendar info or try to type, the Droid wigs out? You push here but the app 2 apps over highlights or opens. Try to long press on the Calendar to do an input and the page just jiggles back and fourth like it cannot decide what your doing? Use your finger to flick to another home screen, and instead, it triggers the app shelf to open.

And with it, my battery temperature has been idling in the 30-35 range, higher in my pocket, and therefore its been at 40 constantly. I've done nothing today with it besides maybe 15 minutes of music via headphones total, and I'm getting like 17 hour battery life. I used to get this while spamming apps, playing around, browsing, etc. Does temperature increase battery use or is it time to switch ROMs (Petes 0.8 has been a battery drain on me).

Sometimes when I just sit my phone down on my desk, even if I only turn it a little bit, it goes landscape. It's kind of annoying because then when I pick it up, I have to turn it landscape and back to portrait so the accelerometer picks up that I'm turning it. It seems too sensitive at times.

I'm trying to research this topic but there seems to be very little information about this. I can't find any tool, script or custom rom that would allow screen sensitivity to be adjusted.
I found a thread talking about doing it for Liqid's touch using script but that's about it. I took a look on the script and I can't move forward with it as the path's script uses do not exists in my Nexus One. The goal is to make the screen more sensitive then it is as a default.

First off thanks for all the great info. I have been lurking for a while and couldn't have rooted without your guys After I rooted my Eris (Now running Non sensible 13.2 after trying tazz froyo and a few others) I now have problems with my touch screen, especially on the upper right side quadrant. So far I am loving it way more than my old winmo phone.That said, I find that the screen is just not nearly as touch sensitive as my ipod touch and im kind of disappointed. I have to press things sometimes 2 or 3 times to get it go. Especially in the corners

2. I have a screen protector. Its a $20 Invisible Shield by ZAGG that is off the shelf. Could that be causing the slow and unresponsive screen? What do you guys use?
3. Does the hero really NEED a screen protector? I previously had an HTC touch DIAMOND and i didn't use a screen protector evre and it got scratched up to HELL. Just for reference, I used my ipod almost in the same way (in and out of jeans pocket, not with keys, etc) and it didn't scratch AT ALL.Any way to improve this would make me way less disappointed here.
Sometimes the touchscreen is just fine, but other times it falls in sensitivity.I find myself have to press down hard on the screen in order for it to recognize the touch.This has been the case both with or without a screen protector.Anyone else experience this? Can this be improved in any way by the future 2.1 update?

I use a otterbox commuter case while has covers for the dock and head phone jack, so Im assuming the dust came in between the buttons and the bottom of the screen.

Tech had me remove the battery for 2 full minutes, and put back in - and now the Capacitive Buttons works perfectly.Anyone else having partial screen/certain buttons not responding to commands? I guess I could try removing the battery again, but I am not sure that will fix it.

I saw this yesterday the GPS was all wacky and GN wouldn't lock but maps would. I restarted the phone, and it worked great. I see this from time to time.
