View 2 Replies View Relatedhow should I create a service that would keep on running in the Background and listen for incoming and outgoing calls? I don't want the service to die at any point in time.I have created a Broadcast Receiver in my service class that is set for ACTION_PHONE_STATE_CHANGED action. In my BroadcastReceiver, I have set up a PhoneStateListener that would listen for changes in phone states. Is this the right approach?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout once a week I need to do a battery pull on my DROID because both incoming and outgoing calls are silent. I'm not sure if the caller on the other end can hear me or not.In the meantime, I've switched my vocoder options back to the factory default to see if maybe that helps. Really, it's a shot in the dark, but it's a start.

How to intercept incoming calls by adding a prefix like 19299 on incoming, and * on outgoing.
I have built and compiled an .apk file witch force closes for no apparent reason on launch. When compiled it compiles without any errors.
Is it even possible to monitor incoming calls on public API level? Or is that an API that is closed off? if the API is available, is it then possiblo to add said prefix both on incoming and outgoing calls?
I have a HTC Hero running the latest 1.5 software off of HTC site. One thing I have noticed, is that if I have any photos associated with a contact, the photo is heavily pixelated when it is displayed via an incoming/outgoing call.
I am using Gmail Sync to push email, calender and contacts. If I use the Pre or iPhone, then it shows up fine.
Is this a known bug? I have tried re-creating the image on the Hero - but once I select the area, it pixelates it again.
i figured out how to listen for outgoing calls. however, i can't find any docs or code samples for making a Receiver that catches outgoing sms or email.
View 10 Replies View RelatedFor years now (and on many different phones and Android OS versions), I've run into a reoccurring issue in the Gmail app: now and again, a batch of messages I've told the app to send will get stuck in the Outbox as "Sending" and won't ever send, even after I've rebooted the phone, cleared the cache, insured the phone is online, etc... This only seems to happen when there's some sort of an internet connection issue, but I haven't been able to figure out if it's associated with one particular thing: airplane mode, being out of connection range, having auto-sync or background data turned off, etc... If it was caused by being in one particular state, I'd just avoid sending email while in that state.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my email settings to retrieve every 5 minutes, sometimes when I reply to a email I get the unable to send mail then I check the account settings and it says unable to communicate with the driod outoutgoing server, I restart my phone then it will work but this is not a solution long term. Sprint has restarted my phone too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHours later and almost out of power (started out with 75%), I turned the phone off. The email I received had 29 attachments and was 1.9 MB in size, and it loaded fairly quickly. But when I tried to forward it, I gave up after letting it grind away for a few hours. Couldn't figure out how to cancel an out going email, so I turned the phone off, and back on again. That stopped it from forwarding and placed it in the out box. I guess upload speeds with 3G really do suck. I can't wait for 4G. Turning the phone on and off did not stop it from trying to forward. Need help trying to figure out how to stop an outgoing email.

View 19 Replies View RelatedHandcent won't vibrate for any incoming messages. Here is what I've done:
-Phone vibrate is checked in 'Sound & display settings' for Android.
-Vibrate is checked to always in Handcent.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns in both normal mode and vibrate mode.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns for vibrate 'Only when device is set to vibrate mode' (option in handcent) while having the device in vibrate mode.
-Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent.
Phone vibrates normally for all other applications.
How is it done? I do not see any settings/info on gmail.com. I currently am using my cable ISP outgoing server which works when it wants.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed today at work then with my phone on vibrate or with the sound off, I do not get any notification of incoming text messages. Same thing with incoming email on my gmail account.. I could have sworn that the phone would vibrate when I got a text the first couple of days I had it. But now I get no vibrating notification at all.

Or a way to silence it at all? i thought i was in the right menu for changing it, but i didn't see anything about silencing it.I downloaded ringolite.. and it said to silence the normal one first, and i couldn't find where to silence it. just to change it to another stock sound.
