HTC Desire :: Tingling Sensation When Touching Phone If Plugged In

Aug 3, 2010

Running my finger along the side of the case I noticed a weird sensation that at first I though was the finish on the casing, but it registered as more than that, so I unplugged it and it went away. Have since discovered that the sensation is only present when plugged in, but NOT charging - i.e. power light is green.

HTC EVO 4G :: Tingling Sensation In Right Index Finger When Touching Screen

Aug 23, 2010

I've noticed that I'm getting little tingling shocks to my right index finger whenever I touch the Evo's screen. What's even stranger is that I don't feel the sensation on any other fingers on either hand. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their evo screen and finger feeling little shocks?I'm not imagining this, and I'm wondering why the heck it's just my index finger?!? Maybe it's just more sensitive, but who knows.I would assume that the capacitive touchscreen technology is the culprit. I can live with the slight tingling, I just don't know why it's only on 1 finger!

HTC Desire : Getting A Tingling Sensation In My Finger

Jun 11, 2010

I've had a screen protector on my HTC Desire since I got it (brilliant phone!). Two black vertical lines started to appear on the screen (only really visible when the background screen was white). So, I decided to take off the screen protector and risk scratching the screen.

However, without the screen protector, when I moved my finger on the screen I started getting a tingling sensation in my finger (a bit like that sensation when there's static around). I tried it for a few days and it's still the same. Has anyone else had this?

(This is the first capacitive touch screen I've had- I've only had Symbian UIQ touch phones in the past. I'm going back to having a screen protector which although not as smooth as the screen is at least comfortable to touch!)

HTC Desire :: Leave Phone Plugged In?

Sep 6, 2010

I've heard that today's batteries' health depends on how many cycles they have gone through, and considering this it should be wise to leave the phone plugged in while fully charged and under heavy use. This way you will delay the cycle and get a "healthier" battery. This was just MY theory and I was not too sure about it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

HTC Desire :: Leave Phone On While Plugged In?

Oct 5, 2010

I've made a nice little dock while I'm at work for keeping my phone upright and flat against a board while plugged in at my desk. This enables me to answer texts by just reaching over and tapping out my reply instead of taking the phone into my hand. What I'm after is an option, app, widget, Anything that will allow my phone to stay on while it's plugged in (sort of like a mini laptop). Right now it goes black after a minute, as it would do if it was on battery.

The only option I can find in the settings is when to turn off the display, which only offers a maximum of 30 minutes and doesn't take into consideration whether you're on battery or charging. It would be preferable if this option existed only while on charge, as I don't want my phone on all the time while on battery, obviously. For what it's worth, my Desire is running 2.2 with the Cyanogenmod 6.0.2 ROM.

HTC Desire :: Screen Scolling Downwards Without Touching

Jun 24, 2010

waiting for a swop out but just wondering if anyone has had a problem where the screen scrolls downwards of its own accord. Sometimes if on the browser, the screen will start going down the links. It's not just a browser thing either and can happen on any app or screen. It's an occasional thing. I've eliminated finger prints (put on a screen protector and it still happened), sunlight hitting the sensor (can happen indoors in the dark) and I've done a hard reset. It's driving me up the wall and I've been waiting 10 weeks for a replacement from T-mobile now (although the keep refunding me money so I can't complain too much).

Android :: Awake Phone By Touching The Screen

Jan 4, 2010

I own an HTC Hero and the phone can only be awaken by pressing the menu button or the power off button. Dunno if it's like this for every Android phone. I'm looking for a way to awake the phone by touching the screen. My idea is to replace the KeyGuard with something else but instead of awaking the phone by pressing one of those buttons, I would like to do it by touching the screen. Is this even possible or the Androd framework doesn't provide this functionality at all?

Motorola Droid X :: Charge Phone Without Touching

Jul 18, 2010

For all of you having battery issues (lasting only a few hours, etc) I think I've found a fix. Yestarday my phone was dead after only being on for about 6 hours. I got home about 10 hours after it died. I left it plugged in for about 2.5 hours until it said "Charged". *Note* First it said "100%" but took about 40 minutes until it said "Charged". That was about 10 PM last night. I ran some movies on it for 3 hours with Full Brightness on. I went to bed without plugging it in. This morning I did another 2 hours of movies. It said 50%. After rebooting it said 60%. Another 42 minutes of movie watching, reboot, still says 60%. Conclusion: If you completely discharge your phone then let it charge full without touching it during the charging it seems to fix the battery.

In "all programs" it starts highlighting apps as if I was touching them but I am not. I have tried G-sensor calibration, keyboard calibration, restarts and the closing of apps but cant find where the trouble lies. Is it possible the touchscreen is now defective?

HTC Desire :: Popping Sound With Earphones Plugged In

Apr 8, 2010

Everytime I start any audio or video there seems to be a pop sound that occurs. It's louder if I happen to pause a track and then resume playing it again. It's still there even if I use my own earphones as well, so I'm thinking it's the handset. It doesn't happen with the speaker, only the 3.5mm jack. I was just wondering if it was a common issue or a problem just with my handset.

I ph33r it may be an evil plot by Vodafone to force downloads onto my phone to go over the FUP.

HTC Desire :: How To Auto Launch NaviPanel When Plugged In

May 19, 2010

"If your Desire is not unlocked and it's from any particular operators, then the phone might not come with NaviPanel' software."

Desire is not coming with NaviPanel software (unlocked or not) regardless of firmware version so this could mean that we will get an fw update soon (before 5 July) to include the NaviPanel app.

Until then the folks at xda forums managed to get the app to work with Desire and they even modded it to work with brut maps instead of maps.

Since the official car holder is scheduled for launch after a month and a half from now and is going to cost TWICE as much as the Nexus official car holder I'm wondering if it is possible to make any regular charger to trigger the auto launch feature?

General :: HTC Sensation - Installing Apps On Spare Phone Without Data Connection

Sep 11, 2011

My main phone is my new HTC Sensation, and I have all my regular apps installed on there (via the Android market, using my Google account).

My old phone - Rooted HTC Hero - I keep as a spare, and use only when I am travelling overseas, to put a local SIM Card into.

My question is, can I install apps on the spare phone on an ad-hoc basis, without using my regular Google account?
Ideally, downloading .apk files for Android market apps?

As it's only a spare, and mainly used for voice not data, i don't really want all the same apps as on my main phone, just some of them -things like Go SMS, JuiceDefender, etc

Also currently, the plan I have with the local SIM card I'm currently using has no data - only voice. So apart from connecting it via my laptop, I could only install apps using free wifi.

Jun 11, 2010

I was able to root my phone with this method when everything else failed. Try this if you have had trouble with other methods. I did not discover this, I heard it from someone on IRC (forgot who).
1. With your phone booted up and plugged in via USB, type adb reboot recovery.
2. Start your adb shell loop (using the while loop or bat file).
3. Click in and out your SD card repeatedly while the phone is booting into recovery (apparently every 0.5 sec will do).
4. Watch for "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -" to appear in your terminal
5. Follow the rest of the instructions at public:adb_in_recovery [RootWiki]
