phone downloaded 80mb of data over night over 3g (according to 3g watchdog) all of its own accord and the Network History (*#*#4636#*#*) is not any help as the phone was plugged in!
I really wish there was a better way to see which apps are using data, how much and when!
I ph33r it may be an evil plot by Vodafone to force downloads onto my phone to go over the FUP.

I have a Captivate and I was wondering is it OK to leave the phone ON all night while it plugged in Charging? Can doing this cause any Battery damage?
So i really like the clock function and the ability to use it as an alarm clock next to my bed. I set it in the mode with the quarter moon and star. What m worried about is the effect on my LCD screen. It seems to be running all night but in a dimmer mode. Is it ok to use the feature every night? Will i end up ruining my LCD a lot faster?

On Monday morning at about 5am I heard my phone go off, picked it up in a sleepy haze and noticed the white "Quietly Brilliant" HTC screen, as if it has rebooted itself. Keyed in my security code and thought nothing of it, went back to sleep. Phone good as gold all day - no further issues on Monday.This morning, at around 4am, it did the same - re-started in the night, woke me up with a chime and the bright white screen. Keyed in the code, went back to sleep. Did the same at about 5am. The battery is currently about half full, so I don't think it's an issue there.I bought the phone about 2 weeks ago and didn't have any issues til I updated. The only setting I changed witin the phone was to have a security code set up for when it comes off standby. I've installed a couple of games since then too.Can anyone help? I'm going to turn my security code off and see what happens tonight, but has anyone else had this problem since the update?
I did notice a small icon in the top bar, sort of looked like an eye, but to be honest I was too sleepy to press it to find out what it was and it's now gone. No apps running on the phone, just WiFi, Bluetooth etc. Auto-update is set to on, which makes me think it's updating something? But why the re-boot?I don't mind it re-starting if it's meant to, it's just the fact it wakes me up at silly o'clock.
Both my wife and I have Desire HDs and we are both experiencing this same problem. We have our phones charging overnight on the bedside with the night clock activated, but after a random amount of time the phone starts going what I can only describe as 'wappy'. It's as if there is someone tapping the screen and selecting options, all manner of things are happening on the screen, apps are starting, search boxes opening. No clock though. I've made sure there is nothing touching the screen and then sat and waited for it, it just starts happening for no apparent reason. Any ideas? My logical mind has already ruled out paranormal activity.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've heard that today's batteries' health depends on how many cycles they have gone through, and considering this it should be wise to leave the phone plugged in while fully charged and under heavy use. This way you will delay the cycle and get a "healthier" battery. This was just MY theory and I was not too sure about it. Please correct me if I am wrong.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've made a nice little dock while I'm at work for keeping my phone upright and flat against a board while plugged in at my desk. This enables me to answer texts by just reaching over and tapping out my reply instead of taking the phone into my hand. What I'm after is an option, app, widget, Anything that will allow my phone to stay on while it's plugged in (sort of like a mini laptop). Right now it goes black after a minute, as it would do if it was on battery.
The only option I can find in the settings is when to turn off the display, which only offers a maximum of 30 minutes and doesn't take into consideration whether you're on battery or charging. It would be preferable if this option existed only while on charge, as I don't want my phone on all the time while on battery, obviously. For what it's worth, my Desire is running 2.2 with the Cyanogenmod 6.0.2 ROM.
Everytime I start any audio or video there seems to be a pop sound that occurs. It's louder if I happen to pause a track and then resume playing it again. It's still there even if I use my own earphones as well, so I'm thinking it's the handset. It doesn't happen with the speaker, only the 3.5mm jack. I was just wondering if it was a common issue or a problem just with my handset.

Desire is not coming with NaviPanel software (unlocked or not) regardless of firmware version so this could mean that we will get an fw update soon (before 5 July) to include the NaviPanel app.
Until then the folks at xda forums managed to get the app to work with Desire and they even modded it to work with brut maps instead of maps.
Since the official car holder is scheduled for launch after a month and a half from now and is going to cost TWICE as much as the Nexus official car holder I'm wondering if it is possible to make any regular charger to trigger the auto launch feature?
When at work I usually have mine plugged into my laptop to charge it up and today I notice that it's getting warm at the back. It's not even been used at all for the last 2 or 3 hours, it's just been sitting there on charge.

Have since discovered that the sensation is only present when plugged in, but NOT charging - i.e. power light is green.

Doesn't go any further than that? I waited 20 mins earlier and nothing happened! Can anyone offer any advice please? I tried again yesterday and same thing twice but now I occasionly & randomly get a msg when checking for updates manually that there aren't any available. I got mine on Monday and am very happy with it apart from that when I am at work and using the WiFi here, I cant download any apps. They just sit there and says starting download. I then turn off the WiFi and put on Data Connection and they still dont download. But when I go home and am connected to my WiFi, it all seems to work.

Sometimes it says unable to download or something similar. I've updated to 2.2 on T-Mobile and dont remember ever having this problem before. It's really frustrating.
