When I plug in my audio jack into my desire to listen to music with my speakers, sometimes the media player goes crazy. It skip songs, fast forward, it makes random calls. And all sorts of crazy things. I googled around, looks like quite a number of htc users face this problem too. What are your advice on this?

1. When my car is off, I need the telephone audio to go out the headphone jack.
2. When my car is on, I need the Moment to make a Bluetooth connection with the car and send the telephone audio to the car.
3. I need to keep the audio cable plugged into the headphone jack 24/7.
It is an extremely long story, so just assume 1, 2, and 3 are true and accept that premise.
If the car is on Bluetooth is active but there is an audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, audio is sent out the cable and NOT via Bluetooth. So when the car is on, I need to trick the Moment into not realizing that there is a audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, so that it will send the audio via Bluetooth to the car.Here's my plan:
Disconnect the audio jack from the Moment.
Wire speaker audio to the audio jack.
Assume I have a PACE SMT kit and am comfortable with dealing with surface mount components.From the physical layout, is this do-able?
I'm still trying to get to grips with the folder/filing system of the Desire's SD card. I have yet to put any of my own MP3's onto the phone but have put on a few short audio clips which I created at work. These were on the phone mainly so I could transport them home but I also occasionally play them from the phone. However I don't want them cropping up amongst music in the music player app/widget, but it seems no matter where I put them on the SD card they appear. The only exception is if I put them in media => ringtones which isn't ideal. Are there any other places where i can put them where they won't be found by the media player?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a media player - to play all kind of music formats, mp3, wav, etc. Also it would be good to have a player that have a simple search through folders capability to go to navigate to phone's internal memory. The player that comes with Incredible has the capability to search through folders in the internal memory, but I don't think it plays all formats. On the other hand I see that "market" place is full of different players, but all that I downloaded only search on SD card and does not have capability to navigate to internal storage. I know one of the simplest solutions would be to put all music on SD card, but heck we have 8Gb of internal storage why not to use it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI really want to know why I can not hear any sound whatsoever simply because the video uses 5.1ch aac instead of 2ch aac. The video part of mp4 plays perfectly, encoded to h.264. I would really like to know if there is any media player able to play these videos correctly without having to resort to any kind of re-encoding (a waste of time when the original encodes should play fine) or having to use special 5.1ch headphones (bulky and not practical to keep on hand all the time). Also, does anyone know if this might be corrected with Froyo 2.2? And last, all my videos that have 2ch audio play as they should, sound and all. Same codec settings were used.

Does anyone know of a player that will handle MP4 AVC files with a 5.1 AAC audio stream? The video plays just fine but none of the players seem capable of "downmixing" to stereo.
I did find one that would play the sound all garbled. I'd hate to have to recode my entire library to stereo to use it on my phone.
I love my new HTC Desire and the only thing lacking is a music player that plays at variable speed. I listen to a lot of audio books and my old Sansa Clip player gives the option of playing audio at a faster speed (so you can go finish a book faster).The normal android player doesn't seem to have this option. Is there another player that does?

I want to get a stream from a server I have to play in the emulator when I insert the url it doesn't seam to want to play. My question is there a way to get the emulator to play audio or is it all enabled also does MediaPlayer require a special kind of format like mp3 or ogg? his is the code i am running on my 'onCreate()' method.

when I'm listening to audio with my headphones through cherry rplayer and then take the headphones out to use the speaker, I don't get any sound...I have to shut down any audio players functions before I get any sound out of the speaker. Not sure if cherry rplayer is the culprit or not. I have also noticed that my media player starts playing by itself...

How can I implement so that Device should continue to play audio in the background when selecting to back out or return to the application
I have just got a HTC desire and like many people would like to be able to get rid of my iPod all together and have just my phone. The problem I'm having is that the media player on the HTC desire doesn't work nearly as well as iTunes. I have several issues that would needed to be resolved and wanted to know if anyone had a solution to any of them
1) Audio books, I have many of these on my iTunes and on an iPod they are displayed in a separate folder and are removed from shuffles, not so on the HTC, solution?
2) Podcasts, Again i subscribe to many podcasts on my iTunes and wanted to know if there was any way of adding them to my HTC automatically or having them download automatically (Despite this being very annoying and clogging up my hard drive with duplicated podcasts)
3)Playlists I am currently using iTunes agent to sync from my iTunes but it means that I cannot sync playlists that i can then play on my phone. (I can sync playlists just not then play them on their own once they are on my phone)
I'm after a new media player for my desire which comes with a 2x2 widget, hopefully with decent set of controls + album art (not necessary, but track details are).
I'm running Android 2.1 and LauncherPro, which is why I can't use any of the sense widgets.
I have the htc desire and tried to use the sky player but when i play the video it said that i need silverlight installed.
is there a way to get this to work another player that can be download or software that can be instilled
I really like my Eris but the volume level is really bothering me. I can plug my IPod touch (with volume about 90%) into my car using the headphone jack and setting my car volume to a little less than half way is plenty loud. Playing the same audio tracks through the headphone jack of my Eris plugged in the exact same way with the volume cranked all the way up and I have to literally turn the stereo volume to the max to get the same level.

Windows Media Player 11 (running Vista) does not seem to sync with my HTC Desire - does anyone have a suggestion? I have copied and pasted from the c: drive to the sd card but this is a pain.
I don't own an Epic but have thought about jumping from verizon to sprint for their superior 3G coverage in my area. The only phone that interests me is the Epic so I have been reading a lot of forums and reviews. I have heard that the Samsung is supposed to have great quality through the 3.5mm(I think because of some pre-amp or dedicated part of the processor. I'm no expert and cant remember what I read and where).
I haven't really seen to many comments about the audio quality from the 3.5mm headset jack and also the exterior speaker loudness and quality. Coming from the Original Moto Droid it has the best external speaker on any other phone I've owned thus far but sub-par 3.5mm headset jack quality/loudness. Can anybody give me some of their personal opinions on how they think the Epic external speaker matches up to the original Moto Droid and how about the quality/loudness out of the 3.5mm.
I am looking into writing some apps for Android phones that work with audio. These phones do not have a line in jack but do have headphone jacks that work with some headsets that include a microphone. Is it possible to work with audio coming in through the headphone jack if I plugged in something like a portable computer mic?

Later after I unplugged it and tried to make a call on the phone there was no audio coming from the phone. I had to reboot the phone to get it back. I think I read somthing about this someplace. I kinda remember something about the switch sticking in the audio jack. I've only used this jack twice now and the phone is only a month or so old. Is this a known issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an old TV with a DVI connection - I have put an HDMI Convertor on it and it woks fine with my laptop - so with a laptop I output the video via the HDMI cable to the television and stick an audio cable in the headphone socket and get the sound through my hifi.
Someone tried it for me just using a HDMI to HDMI and no sound came from the headphone jack however I wondered if because mine was not "true" HDMI it might work? Will an android tablet do this?
A little off topic, but it is about Android phones and this discussion list, so here goes. If you receive emails from this list in digest form and try to read the email on your Android phone (or at least on the Nexus One, the only phone I have experience with), when you click on any of the topics listed at the top of the email, you get an "Unauthorized: Error 401" error. If you read the email on your PC and click any of the links, it takes you to the topic you clicked, as expected. I know that this isn't a developer issue but I am not sure what other group to post it to.

Well, my girlfriend is, unlike me, on T-Mobile, and after doing some research, have discovered that the HTC Magic falls short of what she wants. Fortunately, the HTC Hero manages to meet her biggest requirements. But we've run into the issue of her being on T-Mobile, which doesn't (currently) carry the HTC Hero in the US.
My question then, is if there are any known plans to bring the HTC Hero to T-Mobile in the US, and if not, is there any way to import one and get it to function properly?
Is there a cable I can use with my Vibrant to send audio from the micro usb port to the aux input jack in the car? I tried searching on ebay without any luck?

I will be using Skullcandy Titans which are in-ear earphones with noise isolation. I am hoping it is at least as good as that through my iPod nano 4th gen. I know that isn't an amazing benchmark but I'll be satisfied if it sounds at least that good with high-quality audio stored on the SD card. Speaking of SD card, do they still pack in the 16GB MicroSD card with Droids these days?

AND, while I'm asking, can the audio signal be sent to and received by two different bluetooth receivers at the same time? I currently only have one bluetooth audio receiver, so I can't try it.
Is at least one of the stock calendar apps needed for the phone to function properly? I have never used nor will I ever need the calendar and was just wondering if it's safe to delete. I've already removed the corporate one, but left the standard one on the phone thinking it was important.
