HTC Desire :: Where To Stop Phone Beeping?
Jul 13, 2010For no reason that I can think of, my phone started making a single beep whenever I terminate a call. It is bugging the hell out of me and I cannot find where to stop it.

May 26, 2010I just turned my phone off this morning and when it was shutting down it fired out several rapid beeps and looked like it had a notification come up. it happened again when i turned it on. i cant seem to figure out what it was though!

Jun 16, 2010I had a timer set and it beeps when its done. if you have the timer page open, a popup comes up that says dismiss. however, if you aren't on the timerpage and you are doing something else when it goes off, it will just keep beeping and there is no button to shut it off!!!! are you kidding me? this is the worst glitch i have found on this phone.

this only started happening after the 2.1 update. the beep sounds like i am getting another call. also phone calls seem to be draining battery rather fast lately, a three minute phone call will drop my battery from half to yellow.
Samsung Captivate :: Random Beeping Noise - Stop It / Where It's Coming From?
Aug 10, 2010Ok, I'm quite confused. I've had my Samsung Captivate for about 4 days now, and today when i plugged it in mid-day to charge (om nom nom battery life) it started emitting random, extremely obnoxious high-pitched beeps about 2 times per minute. It does it whether or not it's on A/C power, it even does it when the phone's powered off but the battery's in there, I just don't understand why or how to stop it.
Phone is awesome otherwise! Anyone having this issue/ know where it's coming from?
HTC Desire :: Call Tone Keeps Beeping After Answer And Hangup In 2.2 / Solution For This?
Oct 15, 2010After i installed 2.2 on my desire sometimes the call beep (the one beeping when you wait for the other dude to answer) keeps on beeping even after the other person answers and even after the call ends and we both hang up. The beep continues till i turn off the phone and restart it again. One of my friends have this problem as well so i assume there are others out there with the same problem.
Anyone got a solution to this problem?

Jun 9, 2010I'm a newish Droid user, came from Eris. While I love the power of the phone and the capabilities, the actual phone is not exciting at all and I miss the Eris if only for the actual phone. I am constantly told I am hard to hear; usually they say I am grainy, muffled, or tinny sounding. Are there any apps I can use to help make call quality better? I have purchased a very expensive blue tooth, call quality is still bad. Now, with a particular friend, they hear a very annoying beeping sound when talking to me. And only me. I don't hear it but the only time they hear this sound is when talking to me and it's been since I got the Droid (about 2 weeks ago). Any ideas of what this is and how to fix it?

Nov 29, 2010My wife's phone keeps beeping when she talks to people. It sounds like she is just mashing keys the whole time she is talking but the phone is against her face. I told her to make sure it is resting against her cheek so that her cheek isn't randomly hitting buttons on the dial pad but that still doesn't help.

Oct 26, 2010This is my first post, after reading helpful posts for many months. I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop the Desire/android from automatically connecting to specific wifi networks. I have a wifi network at home which I want the phone to always connect to when in range. I also have a wifi network at work, that I only want to connect to from time to time to update the calendar and download emails. Currently I have to turn off wifi when at work until I need it, but I've had this working before. I'm on my second Desire as the Orange 2.2 update fubar'd the first , my first phone would always ask me if I wanted to connect to the works wifi, the new one just connects straight away, and it will only be a matter of time before my twitter app gets me into trouble.

Oct 9, 2010Whenever I receive a text message while on an active call, it plays the message tone at full volume - making it rather hard to hear the other person! Granted, this only happens occasionally ... but when it does it can be quite annoying. I've searched other threads and had a (what I consider to be ) a thorough look through the phones' settings, but I can't seem to find a way to stop it. Is this just an omission on the developers behalf? Or is there something I could change?

Jan 28, 2010My old phone had a calendar app that you could set the reminder BEFORE the event (i.e. 5', 10', etc) and then it would keep reminding you every 5 minutes AFTER the event until you picked up the phone and checked it.
To me that kind of reminder is very useful since you could have the phone in another area and not hear the initial reminder. You pick up the phone an hour later and the reminder is still there, physically on the screen and beeping. You can't miss it.
My new phone (Mytouch) will only remind you BEFORE the event. If I miss the reminder, I am out of luck. It doesn't beep anymore. It does nothing else. It will stay on the screen, but that's it. But then you have to physically check the phone all the time.
I'm looking for a reminder that will keep beeping (5' or so) to tell me that there is something there. i.e. Calendar, email, etc.

Apr 25, 2010I have had the phone for 6 months and love it. Does anyone know of a way to make the audio message indicator (text and or VM) to keep beeping? Sometimes I miss a call and unless I pick up the phone and see the blinking light, I don't notice that I have a message.
Maybe and app? I have searched through all the settings and could not find anything. I think I have had this on most/all of my cell phones before.

Instead of the normal ringtone I have set up and has been working normally since I started using the phone, I now get a horrible quick-beeping notification tone whenever I receive a call/text. have tried going into Settings>Sound&Display and re-selecting the appropriate ringtones and notifications but this makes no difference. I still get the fast beeping as my alert tone. When I check what tone is selected, my current tones are still set.Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it? Mar 24, 2010I'm having trouble with almost all my outgoing calls. It's taken me up to 4 calls to one person just to finish a short conversation. It usually starts with the person not being able to hear me and then there's a beep and the call is gone. I talked with a Verizon tech last night and she said my longest call (to her) lasted 53 seconds before she couldn't hear me anymore.
This morning I called my mom to test the hair theory (can't have hair between the phone and your face). We were able to talk for 3 mins and 17 secs before I lost the call. The only things different were the beep sounded and we were still able to talk, so evidently the beeping doesn't signal that I'm about to lose the call (I think we talked for a minute more before losing the call) and I don't think there was ever a point where she couldn't hear me -- the call just dropped.
Some of the past posting I've read have indicated that people have gone through multiple Droids (I think one person posted he was on his 4th) and was still having problems.
Verizon is sending me another Droid, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope because of all the postings I've read about this problem. I'm looking for some positive remarks about phone calls -- anyone have some and care to share?
Oh and Verizon rep also said the new Droid they are sending me is the final one. If I have problems with it I either have to put up with it or pay full price for a different phone -- does that sound right?
HTC Incredible :: Outgoing Call Connected - Loud Beeping Sound Constantly Heard
Jun 6, 2010I have been happy with my Incredible up to this point. I recently placed a call to someone, and when the call became connected I heard a loud beeping sound constantly and the person on the other line couldn't hear me. I had installed an app, Task Killer, prior to this so I naturally thought this was affected. I shut down the app, placed the call again, and the same thing happened. I had to reset the battery on the phone to fix this problem.

Jul 13, 2010is it just me or do you all have to manually turn off the alarm clock? The default one that you get with the phone i.e. If I don't turn it off then it will keep ringing indefinately. According to me, a normal alarm clock would ring for about a minute before putting itself on snooze. Sometimes the alarm won't stop ringing after I turn it off either, so then I'll have to turn off the phone.

HTC Desire :: Stop Vibration While Using Dialpad?
Aug 30, 2010I have unlocked HTC Desire updated to froyo. The problem is when i used the dialpad to call, the phone vibrates. I have switched off the vibrate in text settings and also un-checked the haptic feedback but still it vibrates. Is there any method of switching it off or not?

Jun 9, 2010I stream music from my Desire to a Parrot bluetooth car stereo. It all works nicely but if the gap between songs is too long the bluetooth turns off. The next song still looks like it's playing on the handset, but if i want it to play again over bluetooth i have to disconnect and reconnect again.
Has anyone else seen this? And solutions? Apart from editing all my MP3's to get rid of the dead air at the end of the songs!

Apr 16, 2010I just got an HTC desire and I am on my 6th day of playing with it. At first I thought it was a big step up from my previous phone (that had real buttons...and lots of them) however after I started copying my music to the tiny 4Gb SD card I realised that my photos app was showing all the album art work. This was actually quite annoying and it has taken me some hours to find a solution. If anyone is having the same problem they will realise how annoying this is, so I have documented below how to solve it.The problem seems to come from two sources:
1. The Desire (and I guess other android devices) scan the entire SD card for media. Sure enough the scan would return some jpg images located in my MP3 folder (the album art work). Android seems to be limited here and you cannot create an exclsuion folder that doesnt effect both the music app and the photo app (so, this rules out the .nomedia folder)
2. Tagging the MP3's correctly using ID3 tags should appearntly solve this problem. Although you have to be careful here as I have found that not all media players tag the MP3's in the same way. Windows Media player and Tag Runner both tag the MP3 so it appears correct (no separate jpg image is created) however, they still appear in the photo's app.
The only application I have found that works is mediamonkey. Tagging all my MP3's using media monkey stops the album art work appearing in the photo's app which has made my trowling through for my pictures much more graceful.

Apr 23, 2010When i get a email through google mail i get a notification sound. i have a btinternet and hotmail account set up as well but when i receive a email with either of them i get no sound to notify me ? i have ticked the email notifications and notification sound on for both email accounts , theres no choice for the sound just turn on or off but still no sound when i receive email from either ?
