Apr 25, 2010Having run sync I now have duplicated entries. I can get round it but I don't know why this happens?

HTC Tattoo :: Unstable Sync - Duplicate Calendar Entries On Phone And PC
Feb 26, 2010I've recently got a a Tattoo and it is mostly fine (apart from the ridiculously hard to remove battery cover!). But the thing that is driving me nuts is how unstable HTC Sync is. I have uninstalled, re-installed on the PC and phone and had to delete all contacts on the phone once to "cleanse" and still every time I go to sync my calendar and contacts something goes wrong. Duplicates contacts and calendar entries in the phone and and on my PC! My work phone is windows and active sync is a dream compared to this!

May 20, 2010Can anyone tell me if it's possible to add more detail to your phone book entries if your inputting them manually? My facebook account is for networking and promotion, so a lot of people I have in my friends list I don't even know. Because of this I have had to remove my account from "facebook for htc sense". Unfortunately I liked the way it had lots of info for each individual contact, photo, birthday, email addy etc. Is their anyway of having this much info for each individual entry when adding them in "people"?

Sep 28, 2010I debranded and upgraded my Desire to Froyo last night (Woohoo!) and now the music player has duplicate entries for certain albums.
Basically, when I look through the albums in the list it shows some albums twice and when you select each one you get one entry which has all the right tracks and a second with maybe 2 duplicate tracks in. If I delete the extra tracks I lose them from the correct album entry so the files themselves don't seem to be doubled, only the entry in the media player.
Anybody else had this problem? I've tried deleting the offending albums and adding them using both Windows Media Player and by adding them into the relevant folders using Explorer but it makes no difference.
HTC Desire : Gmail Inbox Is Duplicated - Get Two Notifications Of Receiving
Aug 29, 2010I have the gmail widget which displays my inbox (black background) with a little mailbox in the top right. When I click on the mailbox it seems to open a whole new page in white, same emails though. Also, when I receive an email I get TWO notifications and effectively have to click on both and open the email twice to delete it. It seems the gmail inbox is duplicated?

Aug 21, 2009I've imported all the contacts from outlook to my mobile without any problem but when I open People they are divided in two alphabetically sorted lists: i have some contacts sorted from A to Z and then the remaining sorted as well from A to Z but this second batch has dividers between contacts starting with different letters.All my contacts are there but it's very annoying to have them divided in 2 lists, any idea how to organize them in a single list?Second problem is that I can't sync new entries in the mobile's calendar with outlook. HTC Sync doesn't see them at all. Any idea how to fis this as well?

Aug 25, 2010HTC Desire When I tap the 'To' box or the person icon there are multiple entries for each contact. The second person in my contact list appears at least 100 times, others are in there 6, 8 10+ times.Orange Help sent me a text. I deleted it. Took battery out etc. And guess what? No help at all. In the People folder the entries are there in their singular form. Anyone any ideas for resolving this? BTW - the contact only receives one message!!

May 19, 2010Right, all my appointments are stored on my Outlook calendar at work. I can't get activesync to work with my server, so let's ignore that option. What I have been doing is using Google Calendar sync running on my PC to sync entries to my Google calendar. So far so good. Now initially, I synced my Desire to Google Calendar using the "Google" account in "Accounts and Settings". that worked fine. The entries in the Calendar app were given a blue stripe to identify them as being from the Google sync account.
I wanted to start using Google's own exchange servers to get my email and when I added that as a new account, I saw I could also sync calendar via the google activesync account. So I tried that too and predictably I got duplicate and double entries (oooo-er) in my Calendar app. So I just unticked the Google calendar and used the google-exchange one instead. Now today I wanted to do some large scale tidying up and noticed that in my Calendar, I have entries (orange stripe) which are listed as "Exchange" entries but under the Calendar settings - there is no longer an Exchange calendar!
All I have is PC Sync - nothing on that one
And Google sync! (the blue entries)
So how do I get rid of the exchange entries?

Apr 30, 2010On Windows 7 laptop. Htc sync is installed, but so far out of about 30 tries i have only managed to connect the phone once. I'm hoping to root my phone, but am not gonna have any luck if they can't bloody see each other!

May 31, 2010I like to enter in my work schedule into my phone and let it sync with Google Calendar, but recently, my phone has stopped syncing any newly created entries. I'm not sure what seems to be happening here, but does anyone know how to fix it? The calendar syncs perfectly to my phone when I put new entries in there but not when I enter into my phone. Anyway, I hope someone else has had this problem.

I have double and triple contacts in my phone now. I've knocked out Google altogether as I never used it before my Droid (HTC Eris). I sync with my personal laptop and it is running Outlook. I also setup an exchange point for my work info and I get all of the *SAME* contacts with that. Is there anyway to delete the contacts off the phone without losing them in my exchange connection? Also, when I add a contact via the phone, I cannot figure out how to get it to sync into exchange.The current sync map I want to move to is:Exchange (work) --> Plaxo.com
Outlook (personal machine) --> Plaxo.com
Eris Droid --> Exchange only That is, if I can figure out how to sync manual entries on my phone to exchange!

May 3, 2010I thought I understood that there was no capability to sync with Outlook via the USB cable so I imported all my contacts and my calendar to gmail and that worked fairly well. Except for contact updates being a pain.
The I discovered HTC Sync and installed that. The result was duplicate calendar entries and some, but not all, contact duplicates on the phone.
I deleted the duplicate contacts and re-sync'd so it removed those contacts from Outlook. Luckily I had just backed up my PST file so I was able to get them back.
How to delete all contacts and calender entries from the phone so I can try again.
General :: Print Or Synch Phone Calendar Entries?
Jan 29, 2012I've been using the *phone* calendar to make appointment reminders when I'm out and about. Now, I need to print those out for the past six months and I've searched all over--it doesn't seem possible.
Is there some clever poorly documented way to either PRINT the phone's calendar appointments? Or to synch them to another app on the PC, like Outlook, or the main Google Calendar account, so that they can be viewed and printed from the PC as well?
The information from my own Google Calendar shows up on the phone--but the phone's calendar appointments don't show up on except from the phone, where they can't be printed out.

However, I am not able to find the particular forum thread helping me out.I just got my HTC Desire yesterday and managed to get my contacts on my gmail-account (in the internet). So far so good. My contacts are "safe" in my google-mail-account and I was able to export them as cvs.Now, on my HTC Desire they actually show up, if I choose "people" -> "menu and view" -> "Google".In the list of "view" I can also see my SIM Card (which says its empty and that is correct) and "Phone" which is empty as well. Please correct me if I am wrong:From what I think I see my contacts are on my internet googlemail account only and my phone is connecting to the internet to get them.But that is not I would want. I would want my contacts being synced between my phone (which is not necessarily connected to the internet all the time) and my internet google-mail account.Now, is there a way to bring those contacts on my phone (using the on board tools) so I can use them "offline" or am I misunderstanding the menu and the contacts are already "offline" on my phone marked as "Google" contacts?

Oct 22, 2010I'm using an HTC Desire on Froyo and version 3.0.5422 of HTC Sync. It all installed fine, I connected by USB, and selected HTC Sync as the connection on my phone. Then I went to sync an iTunes playlist onto my 32gb Kingston SD Card. It started then an 'Unknown Error' occurred. My SD Card was then unmounted in the phone, with a notification at the top. I rebooted the phone, and it was still unmounted. So I popped the cover, took out battery and card and tried again.

HTC Sync is def open and installed on my laptop. Any advice on what it could be? I've powercycled the phone and laptop. changed the usb port can't think of anything else.

I cannot get it to work though I am using all the settings that our IT department has given me. The setup keeps saying, check your Exchange account settings. I am not even able to connect to the mail server. I am using Wi-Fi and I have a network connection so there is no problem with that part.
