I'm studying Android push service (C2DM) for Android Froyo version.
The Google says the max size of message is 1024 bytes. (http://code.google.com/intl/ko/android/c2dm/)
What is the message encoding type? I want to put extra message which is not English.

If two or more applications are installed on the phone and those are using broadcast receiver to listen and some message comes .Now in case of push notification how can we distinguish the incoming message is for which application?

On the Moto droid the pic would show on the message and if i clicked on it it would stay open. Is tue a way to change this or what?

However, whenever i transfer music i always get the message "unable to play this type of audio file" I have tried everything from making the files all mp3 format to using different programs to do the sync, but nothing will work.

Anyhow - I need to know if there is some way to push data to the phone from a server. I'd prefer to avoid using SMS to push (user charges), or constantly polling the server (lets see, every 5 seconds = 12 times a minute, 720 times an hour, over 17000 a day)
After awhile of heavy SMS use if i open a message and go to type to respond the words i type do not show up on the screen. Id i minimize the keyboard it shows. If I expand it they go away.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy current situation is that I have a phone with 2 camera apps on it, stock and camera FV-5.
Camera FV-5 is slower than the stock camera, so I only use it in situations which I need manual control.
Whenever I open whatsapp and try to send a photo, the app asks me which camera I want to use, with no option to always use stock. I don't want camera FV-5 to exist as an option, as I will open it if I want to use it.
Is there a way to remove an app from the list so that my phone does not recognise camera FV-5 as a camera?
My login for jabber account contains "point" symbols ( ���dima��� ).
So, how I can paste or type it in the application?
PS These symbols are the same which displayed while entering passwords
I work for comcast and we ose microsoft exchange but i believe we use 2003. thats what it says when i go to my owa website for remote email access. i use the owa for my berry to get the emails pushed and was wondering if android could push it. my remote access website is https://webmail.comcast.com and i don't know if it is possible. i have heard about an app called touchdown but i also don't know if it would work. i am thinking about getting the moment because i am on sprint because it has the faster processor than the hero. i may wait for the supersonic though. if you could please let me know if i can push my email that would be awesome or if it is possible from a different app or way to do it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with Push email on my HTC Desire. I can set this up no problem - email comes in but only manually. I cannot get the push to actually work. When I go into the send receive schedule I can set up the days/hours for peak off peak and push but regardless of what I set these to be, when I go back to the previous screen it always says the Schedule is Manual. I've tried setting up lots of variations from manual through timed to push but still the same. Net result is push never seems to happen - manual overrides my schedule. To pick up email I have to go into email and do a manual sync.

1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
How do you detect the network connection type on Android?
Is it through ConnectivityManager.getActiveNetworkInfo().getType(), and the answer is limited to Wifi and mobile?
I am going through the android hello world tutorial, and have been stuck when trying to create an XML UI. For some reason, even on a new program, in which I have made no changes to the default build, it gives the error java.lang.NullPointerException after every character I type. I can't figure out why it is doing this, as I am just trying to edit the text between the Text I want to set it to say something other than what is set by default. However, even with a fresh build, no changes, and I just try to change the text within the xml tags, it still gives the error. What do I need to do to allow it to let me type? I am using the eclips IDE and the android sdk. I was able to do the first part of the tutorial that doesn't involve XML.

My question is this. When you push the voice-to-text button does it pop up a window like earlier versions of Swype or does it do the really fast and slick thing that the multi touch keyboard does (just replace the keyboard with the audio waveform thing).
How do I set up e-mail push service for gmail to Dx? I have the account added and can manually go to the account and tell it to sync and it works. It never updates by itself. I went to settings> data manager> data delivery and "email and corporate sync is a darker color and I can not click it.

Is there ever a valid reason to configure polling on a push email account (ie. as a "backup" if the push fails for some reason)? In other words, if I'm currently receiving pushed email, is it completely useless and redundant to poll the folders as well? Or is it possible polling might work in the event push doesn't? I receive emergency alerts from my work so I'm just wondering if I should set up a 15-minute poll in case an alert doesn't get pushed to my phone. Or can I expect that whenever push fails, polling won't really do any good either?
