I recently ported my number from T-Mobile to O2. Now when texting, status reports always remain at "pending". Is this a phone issue or should I contact O2?It used to work, and then I called O2 to disable the auto USSD balance notification after every text. After that, texting Balance to get my balance stopped working too.

I'm using handcent and when sending pictures the recipient would not receive them. On my end it says pending and pictures never reach its destination. I have done this with WiFi turned off. Sending text is no problem but pictures is. Is there a bug in the handcent app? Just wondering because its getting frustrating. I have pictures from last night that never reached my wife and still says pending on the status.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have come across a compelling problem with my Orange bill since getting my Desire. I set up a group in contacts and a number of times have attempted to send a group text. There are about 8 people in that group but when I pressed send I would get message pending.
Some members of the group would not receive anything whilst others would get a text hours later.
I tried a couple of more times last month then gave up.
This week my bill came with a 10 charge for photo messages, as if I would use this crap way of sending pics when I have access to email. All the group messages were charged at 25p per person.
To give Orange their due, they will reimburse me the money on goodwill but I certainly won't be trying the group thing again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a particular problem with the Desire in the format of the delivery report for the messages. It only says 'received', or sometimes 'pending'. I have done some tests, and the pending status does not change when it's actually delivered, and sometimes it will say 'received' when the phone the message is being sent to is switched off.
I used this function (on my trusty old Sony C905) to send messages to phones when they were off, the delivery report would come in with the date and time that the phone was switched on and the message delivered.
Is there an app that I can download to do better management of message tracking? Hopefully the same app that will let me see arabic characters as mentioned in my other query.

Earlier on today, I ran ?Unrevoked3" on Linux, which "rooted" my phone. It added an extra option called "Superuser Permissions", but the O2 branding when phone is turned on remains, and the numbers above stayed the same. Now I tried to load a new ROM, but they all bring up the errors below. I have tried loads of different ones. I have plenty of free space on my SD card and have renamed some to update.zip, but still no luck. One seemed like it went through, but straight after an animation of a cross played on the screen, with different colours, and this wouldn't go away even after a restart............
How or where can I see battery status in percentages (%)? Can you tell me witch widgets is best for this, if I can't see this by default?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was panicking a little yesterday as I thought I would miss the delivery of my new Desire. This was not the case at 5:30pm it arrived and it truly is an amazing phone. It took me around 4 hours to totally kill the battery from new (when you get the battery it only has a little charge in it) so this I was really pleased about, this was with WiFi on constantly and using it nonstop on twitter, flicker, taking photos, android market, internet browsing and basically just finding my ways around the menus as i've been out of the game for a while. I really think that the worries I was having about not liking it and reverting back to my iPhone are blown out of the window, this device really has blown me away and the integrated twitter app Peep is also very good, although I am now using tweetcasterPRO. It had a full charge last night so I am going to hammer the phone today to see how quickly I can get the battery to go flat so I have a rough idea if one charge will last me through the day.

I can click on the box, get the green selection graphic, but no cursor or keyboard to actually put anything in. Actually I modified these files with RecoveryFileManager at first but I found that was failed after I reboot the device, so I just type these commands into the init.d, but after that, I just find my status bar and notification bar was lost and disappeared, not only home screen but also all around the surface in the system.
Is there a way to stop my text messages appearing in my status bar and on my unlock screen? All I want is an icon and a sound!

I think the problem is either with the intent i put in the pending intent or in the pending intent itself. I think I might need to put a flag on one of these but I dont know which one.The "details" extra is the same to every the next time a notification happens instead of having the different value.Until I set the intents I am sure that the correct value goes to the "details" so its a problem of getting the first intent everytime i press any notification. This is exactly what I want but when I update the notification, I want to access the existing notification's intent and get the key/value paris (Extras) and use that information to update the notification. For example in an SMS notification, I want to to get the current message (key/value pair or message itself) and update that with the new value. ( For giving the number of notifications, I can use the Notification.number, but that I want to access more values). One workaround that I am thinking is to put the data of first notification in database or in preference and access it when the second notification comes. But this is not exactly what I want, it is easier to use the existing notification instead of storing in database or preferences. Related Question: What do you suggest I use, Database or Preferences? Is there a best practise in terms of performance and elegance?

I can't for the life of me use Log.v() to report the value of R or G or B. Everything I'm doing draws a red line under v or something when I try. I've tried toString() and everything.
I would like to create some home screen app widgets that are entry points into an application. I can put a button in the app widget that uses setOnClickPendingIntent to start the activity. The problem occurs when I want to have two of these app widgets that are entry points to different parts of the activity. I need to be able to pass data into the activity that will distinguish these. Since both app widgets use a Pending Intent that starts the same activity, the two Pending Intents are shared and I can't reliably set extras for the corresponding intents.
