I have noticed this a lot especially when typing on the internet. The hepatic response as well as the on screen display take up to a second to work after touching the screen. Is there a fix for this.

Sometimes when I type it wont fill in whatever field that I am typing in whether its a text message, search, or web page. The dictionary will come up as if I am typing the word but no actual letters will have been typed. I've tried with both the stock keyboard and better keyboard but it wont work until I restart the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I know that Google changed the way we choose our keyboards/input methods in ICS, so instead of long-pressing a text-area, we can pull down the notification menu, and choose "select input type"...
However, when I'm typing something while within the default Internet browser, I can't see the notification bar, nor can I find a way to switch input methods... I generally use Swype as my default keyboard, but sometimes need to switch to the stock keyboard. How to accomplish this without leaving the browser?
Just wondering if there is anyway to set my phone in such a way that my ring tone will turn off when I open the phone (either unlock/ do anything to the phone). As it is right now my ring tone (a full mp3 song imported from my pc) will play until I drag down my notification bar. I'm using tone picker and handcent sms if it makes any difference.
Also, is there a way to edit the the keyboard input sound when typing with the stock keyboard?
I'm new to both Android and HTC (my previous phone was a Nokia 5800 - Symbian). Anyway - I was just wondering if there was any way to disable the large letters that appear on top of the key as you type the corresponding letter? It's really annoying when you're typing passwords and the letters just show up for anybody to see over your shoulder.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have bought my Desire in UK where I live, but because im from Poland I use polish as well. It didnt take me long to find out the More Locate app which is great.. I can use predictive text in polish but there is a problem... when i want to use english and change it in preferences I cant chenge it back to polish because there is no such an option. The only way is to unistall more locate and reinstall it which is a pain... is there any way to fix it, so I can change the language in preferences? I have tried to install HTC_IME... its in the phone's settings but its not available during writing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased this awesome phone a few days ago, and while searching the forums on how to disable the word prediction, alot of people suggest to go to the Touch Input settings in the phone, but whenever I go to Settings -> Language & Keyboard, the only choice I have is to Select Locale, which in turn gives me a list of the locale, so I choose the Locale then it just returns me to the Language & Keyboard settings screen which only has the Select locale option. So I can't find the Touch input settings to try and disable the word prediction.

I'm using slideit keyboard at the moment and love it as its so easy just like swype. Thought I would let people know that swift key kb now supports the speech to text function as well, slideit does too. Which kb do you all prefer? Are there any others out there that are worth a try? View 5 Replies View RelatedCannot clear text typed on the Contacts (People) screen 'All' tab.I went to the contacts (People) screen, to the All tab.Without selecting any contact, I held down the Menu button. This brought up the keyboard. I thought this could be another way to search the contacts so I started typing.The Text appeared in a grey box over the keyboard. When I pressed the enter key on the keyboard nothing happened. The backspace key also does *not* erase any of the letters I've entered.When I pressed the keyboard away key, the keyboard disappears but the text in the grey box remains floating over my contacts list. I can tap on contacts underneath it but not interact with the box itself.If I hold down the menu key again, I get the keyboard back and can add more letters to the box but not remove any!If I go to one of the other tabs (Groups, Online directories, Call History) the box is hidden but it returns when I go back to the All tab.

I am wondering if all heroes have the lag inside the browser while typing such as typing in this forum or on yahoo mail etc etc. I use the stock browser and i dont want dolphin or steel. if not all heroes have this lag inside the browser than I shall exchange mine and try a new unit as I am well inside my thirty days, I am 200 percent happy with everything else on the phone. oh and btw I have sound/hepatic/predictive all turned off while experiencing the typing lag in the browser.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSometimes with my Eris when I try to type a text message or make a phone call, nothing shows up. I can press the letters and see the auto-correct as if its typing, but on the message bar, there are no words being typed. For making a call I can type in numbers, but when I press call, nothing happens, whenever this happens I have to wait a few minutes before it starts to register the typing again and sometimes i have to restart my phone all together. Is this happening to anybody else? And, if so, does anybody have a fix?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if any of you had my issue. I have tried many different keyboards and all of them are the same thus I suspect its hardware flaw. It is completely frustrating to type on my evo! When I type really fast it won't detect my 4th stroke even though my evo registers that I hit it. So when I type in "stupid" accurately it comes out "stupd", missing the even though it acknowledges I hit it.

So this example happened to me frequently before 2.2, but I haven't been able to reproduce it now. I'm trying to search for "wifi" in google, so I type "wifi". The first autosuggestion is "wifi android n router", because that's one of my past searches. "wifi" alone is NOT a suggestion. If I hit enter it'll search for the whole phrase. I don't see any way to get just what I typed to be submitted to the search. I press the little down arrow in the suggestions box, but all that comes up is a bunch of other searches, urls, but nothing that says just "wifi".
Another example, today I was doing one of those captcha things. I type in the nonsense letters in the picture, and Android suggests similar words. This time, the nonsense word was on the list. But if I click it, bam, it adds to my dictionary. If I don't, there's no way to get out of autosuggest -- I tried hiding the keyboard (without hitting enter), but that changed my typing to the first suggestion.
