HTC Droid Eris :: Voice Input On HTC Keyboard

Apr 2, 2010

Can we download the HTC Keyboard apk file from Here ? I would really like to try voice input to text and email. Swype is great, but would like to have the option. I am using the leaked 2.1 OS as well. Has anybody tried this install from XDA forums? I want to make sure I don't ruin my phone if I do.

KitKat 4.4 :: No Voice Input Button On Keyboard

Nov 10, 2013

How come there is no voice input / microphone button on my android keyboard? I've had a look in the options screen, there's an option where you can enable / disable the voice input button on keyboard, but it's already enabled. I can press and hold the space bar and select Google voice input in the popup menu, but it's too inconvenient. I tried installing another keyboard (Hacker's keyboard), there I have the mic button.

Is there another way to access it so I can text or email by speaking to my phone? Did everyone else have this happen with the stock ROM, or is this a root issue?

KitKat 4.4 :: HTC One - Voice Input Not Working?

Mar 24, 2014

The voice input on my HTC One keyboard stopped working. On the default keyboard, the microphone key is still there but when I tap and hold it, it doesn't do anything. I tried other keyboards like Google Keyboard and TouchPal X but they don't seem to work. Google Search is enabled and is fully functional.

This is a screenshot for the TouchPal X keyboard. The stock keyboard doesn't have any messages, it just does nothing.

HTC Desire :: Can't Clear Keyboard Input On Contacts Screen

Oct 13, 2010

Cannot clear text typed on the Contacts (People) screen 'All' tab.I went to the contacts (People) screen, to the All tab.Without selecting any contact, I held down the Menu button. This brought up the keyboard. I thought this could be another way to search the contacts so I started typing. The Text appeared in a grey box over the keyboard. When I pressed the enter key on the keyboard nothing happened. The backspace key also does *not* erase any of the letters I've entered. When I pressed the keyboard away key, the keyboard disappears but the text in the grey box remains floating over my contacts list. I can tap on contacts underneath it but not interact with the box itself. If I hold down the menu key again, I get the keyboard back and can add more letters to the box but not remove any!If I go to one of the other tabs (Groups, Online directories, Call History) the box is hidden but it returns when I go back to the All tab.

HTC Desire :: On Screen Keyboard Sometimes Stops Working

Sep 13, 2010

Whenever possible I always use the landscape keyboard but have noticed that sometimes in messages (and web browser) that if I spot a mistake and use the trackpad or touch the screen to go back and correct whatever I type on the keyboard will not appear in the text. The keyboard still responds as you can see the popups for the keys when you press them but the text doe not go into the box. The only way I found to cure this is to close and reopen the keyboard and everything then starts working. I am running the recent OTA firmware update on a completely unrooted unbranded Desire.

Android :: How To Access Voice Input Settings

Nov 16, 2010

I am not sure at what point this setting has been introduced, I have seen it on 2.1 and 2.2. It has "voice recognizer settings" in it, in there you can set Language, SafeSearch and Block offensive words.

How do I access those settings from API? Especially I want to know if the language is set to English.
Also can someone clarify at which version this setting has been introduced? I noticed that voice recognition was using Locale setting before.

HTC Wildfire :: Keyboard Input And Language

Aug 10, 2010

I live in Belgium, the Dutch part, and we use AZERTY keyboards here. My phone is in Dutch, but I could only choose "Dutch (The Netherlands)". In the Netherlands they speak dutch but use QUERTY. So, what I did was leave my phone in "Dutch (The Netherlands)", but I am using the French AZERTY keyboard.

The problem is, that the autocorrect now is also in French. When i typ a word the autocorrect shows a dutch suggestion, a french sugestion and an english suggestion. By default (pressing the spacebar) the phone chooses the French suggestion. Is there anyway to have an AZERTY keyboard and have the Dutch suggestion by default?

HTC Incredible :: Keyboard Input Methods

May 26, 2010

So when messing around with Swype the other day I noticed that you can change the keyboard types to 'QWERTY' 'Phone Keypad' and 'Compact QWERTY'.Since I suck at using Swype and I came from a Blackberry pearl with sure type. I switched my keyboard type to Compact Qwerty. The keys are much larger using 2 letters per key, which is great for people like me with big hands. Now I can type so fast on this baby it still auto corrects and everything. To change at your home screen press menu > Settings > Language & Keyword > Touch Input > Keyboard Types.

HTC Incredible :: No Input From Some Keys On Keyboard

May 1, 2010

I am at a little over a day with my first smartphone, the Incredible.I'm mostly impressed, but this keyboard issue is really bugging me. Basically, here's what happens: I go to compose a message, I turn the device to landscape mode, and when I press the W key, it does not input regardless of where I push relative to the key. On rare occasions, it will work, but I can't think of anything that I might have done to fix the problem.I tried to sleep/resume, power off/on, remove/replace battery, and calibrate the text input, but there seems to not be any resolution.Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone figure it out? I'd hate to exchange the phone for this one thing, but you don't realize how often you need the W until it won't function!

HTC Incredible :: Keyboard Lag - Delay In Appearing Input

Aug 12, 2010

My father got a Droid X, sister has a one year old Moto Droid. I got my incredible last month and after playing with their phones I concluded my keyboard friggen sucks... the LAG is incredibly annoying. It takes me minutes of slaving over the keyboard to type out texts or emails. When I press a key theres a delay in it appearing in the input. If I even try to speed text everything is a jumbled mess. The portrait keyboard is even worse than the regular one. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm running Swiftkey (the problem remains on the stock input method too), and only a few apps like mail and weather. What the hell could be causing keyboard to lag so much?

Samsung Moment :: HTC Touch Input Keyboard

Dec 11, 2009

this keyboard is light years ahead of the default virtual qwerty.I bought the Moment for the hard qwerty and absolutely love it, but hated to have to open the phone for each and every little thing due to the god-awful virtual keyboard.Installing HTC's Touch Input was the best decision I've made. It's super responsive and typing is almost as easy as with the iPhone. I use the T9 numeric as opposed to the full qwerty. There's also a compact qwerty if that's your thing (Blackberry-esque)It's not on the Market AFAIK, but a quick google search will show you where it is. Even has a calibration tool!
