I thought that using dnla, i would be able to choose the ps3 as an output player for my dhd. I had a go today, but It don't work. What do I need to do, and am I right about sending it to the ps3?

sometimes when i work on android in eclipse the logcat output just seems to output the last line of messages and discards everything before.this usually happens after 30mins of work but i cant find a concrete way to repro it.

For example, if you go to the google webpage, the background is kind of almost a very subtle pink, not true white. In fact, the phone seems incapable of displaying bright white. Is this widespread or is it just me?
I've had a search about the internet and this forum for an answer / eureka moment to my question but can't seem to find anything so I suspect it might not be possible.The majority of my contacts have pictures against them and I'd like to see their ugly mugs when I receive a text from them instead of the notification bar in the top of the screen - is this possible?

My problem is that my phone's display does not show anything but it's even working so I can pick up the phone when someone's ringing but I can't see anything. Yesterday I tried to remove the battery and put it back and now I can't use my phone. I've read that someone has the same problem but he didn't find any solution.

View 12 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phones whenever an alarm is due to go off the next morning an alarm icon is shown on the desktop and when you view the keypad lock screen you get the same thing. This meant that last thing at night I could just press a key to get the lock screen and confirm my alarm was set to go off and at what time.
I can't seem to find a way to see this easily on my Desire.
On my lock screen I get an alarm icon to show that an alarm is set, along side the current time in the notifications bar along the top and then I simply have T-Mobile, Current Time, and the current date on the lock bar.
Now I have just disabled all my alarms except for one on Monday morning (this is Thursday as I type) and I still have the same icon in the notification bar and if i click on the HTC Sense clock widget I simply get told that there is an alarm on again coupled with the current date. This means that if i glance at my phone I can't immediately see that my morning alarm for Friday isn't actually set, I have to go into the alarm clock set screen to check.
I have read on another site that one of the changes in froyo was "Lock Screen - Instead of just the time of the next alarm time. It also shows which day."
Does this mean T-mobile have disabled that feature?
Does anyone else see the date of the next scheduled alarm on the lock screen?
I will have to look to see if there are any apps which can do this although I wonder if an app that messes with the lock screen will also affect battery life.
Now that I think about it I am not sure at what point my previous phones (Sony Ericsson k800i and C905) showed an alarm icon again. So if on Saturday night it showed no alarm for Sunday, but on Sunday morning 00:01 would it then display the icon for Monday? I can't remember ever having noticed one way or another.
I ask the above because I have put a couple of photo albums on my Desire and noticed that the first photo is the "oldest" photo. However, I have just renamed an album of 100 pictures into a specific numerical order and my Desire places them back into the order of "date picture taken" Does anyone know of a way I can get the pictures to be in the order of file name?

When I recieve an SMS on my desire I get the notification sound, but I see nothing on the screen until I wake up the screen by pressing the power button. If you do not hear the notification you have to check for messages, I have found sms on the phone that have between there for a few hours before i noticed.
Is there a setting to help with this?
I save all my contacts to Google, so they are backed up automatically on Google's servers. However, when I go to People > View - it says Phone (13) when I don't have any contacts saved to my phone. Even when I only have Phone (13) ticked, it doesn't display anything. Why is this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedQuick question - why won't the standard message widget (the "stack" of messages type) show any names, just numbers? The numbers are saved to my contacts etc etc and are on both the sim and phone.
Other than checking the numbers against my contacts or by the content I've no idea who's sending me messages.
I've searched loads of threads on the forum but can't an answer for this! I like having my Hotmail pushed to me and because the HTC client doesn't support Hotmail push I've downloaded and used the stock android email.apk. It works fine (pushes) but the emails are not HTML. There is no option to display as HTML but I've seen it display HTML from other email clients!

I've been noticing of late that it isn't listing the apps that I have been downloaded thus far. It displays one/two/three items that 've been downloaded (no specific time line, either). Furthermore, sometimes, it also tends to display an app which has already been removed.
My music player is acts very strange, I had 30 songs on my desire and i have just added 9 more. Now all the songs have gone onto the memory card as i have checked on Astro file manager, I saved the songs into the same file as i did previously (My Documents - Music). When i open up music it displayer's 1/39 songs at the top but as i move along it skips a number a couple of times like 2/39 to 5/39 then 7/39 to 9/39 then 30/39 to 32/39 then 34/39 to 38/39, So it is only displaying 30/39 songs. Now i can see all the songs by clicking the bottom left in the music player (Three horizontal lines) then going to "songs" and say i select a song that isn't being displayed i click on it, it starts playing then i simply slide one song then if i slide back the song has dissapeared... for some reason i dont now why some songs are appearing and some arnt, What could be the problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor my closest contacts, I use the People widget that shows a "big" thumbnail photo for each contact. Most of my contacts are set to display their Facebook profile photo, and yes I'm one of the ones who has complained to HTC about it not updating.
However, a couple of days ago I noticed my Dad's picture had gone missing. He's not on Facebook, but his photo is synced to his Google Account picture. But now there's just the standard grey "no photo" icon. He definitely hasn't updated his photo, it's still there in Google Talk.
Just today I've noticed that 4 more people on this small contact list have also lost their photos. Weirder still, those contacts all have their picture set to Facebook ...
I've just run a "sync all" on my Desire and only one of those contact photos came back. A few still show the "no photo" icon.
Even weirder, is that other contact photos on the list did update to the most recent Facebook photo! Weird. I'll keep track to see if they update automatically. I don't have high hopes. (and my own profile pic still hasn't updated from a month ago)
(the sync all has also reset heaps of my contacts names back from their Google contact name to their Facebook or Google Account name.
Is it possible to disable title bar display dynamically after setting the content view by setting the NoTitlebar theme?
All the posts I have read told that any title bar changes we can make only before setContentView() call.
I am facing one problem in message view. Bacically what I need to do is in message view I want to mark any telephone number or web address in different color. Can anyone please tell me where exactly the text is been written in Message View? On clicking this items it should launch appropriate event. If anyone touches a telephone number it should launch the dialer or if it is a valid email address then it should launch the Compose message event and so on.
Another question is whether to display message is Android uses the WebView?

My daughter however ( who actually had a little mishap when she played with it (joke)) isn't so lucky. She got one today and, although calls and text are working fine, she keeps getting a message " .com HTC not working". She's asked my advise as the " wonderful wizard of dad" and I 've got nothing! My last phone was a D900 so you can appreciate how totally lost I am when hers does that and mine works flawlessly. I'm just asking if more knowledgeable people here know how I can advise her. I am totally new to android (but learning quickly). So is my daughter but she's dangerously computer and phone savvy! No clever replays please. SHE WILL BRICK THE PHONE!! View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with displaying videos on android devices.When any video is displayed it does not take the entire screen size of device even though i have given android:layout_width="fill_parent".There will being some blank space on either sides.for eg.if i have a video of 480 by 320 it will work on 480 by 320 device fine but on a device like say Nexus one it wont take the entire display of device ,there will be some blanl spaces on two sides. Is this a default feature of android devices or is there a solution to resolve this ?Why does not the "fill_parent" attribute work?

Hopefully it stays that way.I will admit tho, the screen is nice a HUGE but it isn't near as sharp and pretty as my little hero, anyone else think it has a slight blurry look to it? Maybe I have a messed up display or something.why in the world did they remove the lockscreen wallpaper? I liked that, and now it's just a blank little screen with a slider on it...can we at least customize it more?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble viewing a PDF on my Evo.I've saved it to the SD card and opened it with 2 different apps, and then erased it and re-downloaded and tried again, but each time the same thing happens: it will display the first few pages, but then the rest of the document shows as blank.The original PDF works fine on my laptop.Also, I plugged the Evo into the computer as a disk drive and opened the file to make sure it wasn't corrupted or something, but again, it displays just fine on the computer.
