This tool profiles the system power consumption and decomposes power consumption on hardware components (e.g. LCD, Wi-Fi, CPU and etc.). It also assigns power consumption to individual application as the application is running alone in the system. In this way, it could potentially help developers to profile the app and detect energy inefficiency usage behavior in the application.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI want to develop a peripheral device to connect to an android phone via USB OTG. The OTG specs [1] says: "A Targeted Host shall provide sufficient power to each peripheral on its TPL in at least one supported configuration".
Where do I find those TPL ("Targeted Peripheral List") lists? I searched at Sony Ericsson (because I have a Xperia Mini) and Samsung (as a different manufacturer) but with no luck. Is this an android related list?
On github I found a code fragement [2] from DooMLoRD. It mentions a OTG whitelist. But it seems to be something like a skeleton.
I do this research because I want to use the peripheral device in high power mode with about 300 mA. I thought I could compare the TPL with devices that also need 300 mA.

View 2 Replies View Relatedseems like anything using 3g drains my battery. slacker player saps 30% of a 2600mah battery in a single hour. If I were to be conservative, it would be 25% of a 2200mah, accounting for other parts of the phone and possibly a low quality battery. Even then, that's horrible. It didn't used to be this bad. And now I suspect it's a combination of a new radio update that boosts signal by consuming more power, and the fact that 3g coverage is weak where I'm at (though it worked good enough before the update). So if there's any way to downgrade radio without losing froyo or other phone functionality, or directly influence power consumption of the 3g radio, please let me know.

Anyone knows if a 1000mA car if enough?? Tonight, I was watching a Youtube HD video on 4G network (2/3 bars on 4G) with the phone connected to a 1000mA USB wall charger. After 10min, the battery dropped 2%...Well, even 1000mA cannot compensate the consumption of the battery. The power consumption of this phone is ridiculous. Something must be wrong with the system/circuit design.

As well as my phone speeding up by leaps and bounds, my battery is getting about 3 hours additional life (minimum). Before, 15 minutes after taking my phone off charge it had lost a bar, but now.. I took my phone off charge at 7:15am and listened to music for 40 minutes on the way to work.. it's now 10:19am and I still haven't lost a bar!

I have the wifi turned off and only enable it when required but just general usage seems to sap the power quite quickly. At the moment I'm not sure a full charge would even last a day! View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a black background, I keep the display settings at the lowest brightness settings, and I keep the screen off when I'm not using it, but my phone is dying after 8-10 hours if I don't use it very much and 4-5 hours if I use it regularly. Every time it indicates that it needs to be recharged, 65-80% of the power is going to the display. I...don't see how that can be.I'm using a Samsung Vibrant that I bought on July 30th.

I can easily think of a number of examples of where one would like to continue collecting accelerometer data even when the display is of. The OS and software were cutting edge and all who saw were gob smacked. the only way to completely cycle the power then was to remove the battery.

Thereafter I restarted it again without charging it and as expected it powered down after a few minutes.This morning I plugged in the handset for charging and then pressed the power button to put the handset in to 'sleep', to my surprise it did not work. I ignored it and left it for charging and when I checked back the handset had automatically gone to 'sleep'. I tried to wake it up by pressing the power button, but it did not work.The only way I can wake up the handset is either by calling it or plugging in the charger. I tried all of the following but none of them worked.
1. Removed the battery and left the handset for a few minutes and restarted it.
2. Removed the SD card and restarted it.
3. Removed the SIM card and restarted it.
4. Removed both the SD and SIM cards and restarted it.
I have a question; I find that after around 16hrs my battery has depleted to around 60% for exmaple, and 90% of this battery usage is from the maps app but it isn't even running? What's going on?
