I have downloaded several games and have noticed that when playing, I can't see the time or the battery icon. These are two things that are fairly vital when gaming on a mobile, as I am usually killing time and don't want to kill the battery. Anyone know how I can get them back on to the display?

I've just noticed my email icon in the notification bars is not showing up anymore, i have notifications turned on but its stopped showing when email arrives, all i get is the green dot with numbers in on the mail shortcut on my homescreen. anyone else got this problem or any idea why its happened?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that one of my friends on their contact picture has lost the little Facebook icon overlay and that syncing with Facebook wont bring it back.
Their contact picture has been replaced by another blurry pixellated picture.
Further to this, I notice that the actual contact picture in Facebook for HTC Sense is borked and pixellated. Anyone seen anything like this before?
Has anyone purchased the official HTC Desire car kit (reference on the HTC website is CU S420)? If so, does the charger actually charge up the phone or just prolong the time it takes for the battery to drain like all of the unbranded chargers seem to do?
View 10 Replies View Relatedin spare parts, under other usage, My Wi-Fi on and Wi-Fi Running percentages are ALWAYS the same... right now sitting at 99% each. Surely Wi-Fi on should be at 99%, but Wi-Fi running should be considerably lower since I don't have any form of auto sync or location based things on.I can keep my phone on for 12 hours, Wi-Fi enabled, and Wi-Fi running is always full, at 99 odd percent. Nothing is using the wi-fi, even when i choose to forget my wifi details so there is no connection. I suspect it may have something to do with the root process "0" under Network usage under Battery history in spare parts. I'm thinking it's keeping my Wi-Fi active and draining my batt, even if it's not pulling any data.I've completely uninstalled every app (except spare parts), wiped cache and dalvik, put phone on Aeroplane mode, nothing changes. Facebook app isn't updated to 1.3 or 1.3.1 either.Really at wits end as to why my Wi-Fi is "running" at 100% all the time.Here are my details: HTC Desire rooted with Clockwork from latest Unrevoked. Rom is Official Sense + Froyo from OpenDesire Team v1.0c

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the fantastic Desire friday and I'm really enjoying it so far coming from iPhone and Hero.
Unfortunately I've run into a little issue: Up time and awake time (in Settings>About phone>Battery) are almost the same, meaning that the CPU never correctly throttles down when the phone is asleep. This is causing battery life to be rather short - On average I get 10-15 hours out of the phone with moderate settings.
By going to the battery info console (type *#*#4636#*#* in dialer) I managed to figure out that the calendar in some way is running and preventing the phone from sleeping (Partial wake in top dropdown). I did a factory reset and it hasn't seemed to help. There are 2 calendar related apps running: Obexservice and connectivityservice.
I am getting a date/time string from web in the format of "yyyy/mm/dd'T'HH:MM:SS'Z'" and it is in UTC. Now i have to identify the current time zone of device and then convert this time to my local time. (FYI, Currently, UTC time is 10:25 AM, in india current time is 3:55 PM)

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I fire up an emulator using Eclipse and have a look at live wallpapers, the two default wallpapers - Cube and Cube Resources - show as grayed-out icons that look like the image is missing.
The wallpaper I have written is exactly the same, the proper image doesn't show. Doesn't work on my phone either.
Howeever, if I go into manage services in the settings screen in the emulator, the proper icon is showing. Its showing as the service icon but not the application icon.

with foo.pmg, foo.jpg in drawable all being accepted by the IDE but not showing as the application icon.

I recently updated the handcent messaging app and after a few soft resets the icon on the home screen is gone. the name is there and a grey X. if i reinstall the app it reappears but it takes too much time to keep redoing my settings. anyone else notice that? it happened twice after about 8 soft resets.

I flashed 2.1 rodgers firmare onto my x10a and when the phone boots I can see the icon for a few seconds then it deisapears!! Anyone else with the same problem? View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new AT&T Radiant (aka ZTE Z740). I had it for a few days while I waited for a SIM card to come in the mail, installed one app, and just got a feel for how it worked on wifi. (I've never had an Android or any smart phone before). Last night after activating the phone and setting up the data connection with Consumer Cellular, I noticed that the Chrome browser icon was missing from the app tray. I don't know exactly when that happened, but it was possibly related to the data setup process.
I've searched Google and the forums here and haven't come up with a solution. I've seen suggestions for unhiding icons, but I don't seem to have the option to hide/unhide icons, or at least I'm not finding it (if I hit the menu button from the app drawer, I just get 'manage apps' and 'system settings').
I also a suggestion to look at the disabled apps list, but the 'manage apps' function doesn't indicate that Chrome is disabled. It is still there - I don't think it can be uninstalled.
I'm not sure what else to do. Is factory reset the next step? Not looking forward to setting up the data connection again (I guess I would need to go through all the settings and write them down, unless there is a way to back them up).
Yesterday I had a missed called. I wanted to check at what time this person had called me. When I clicked on the phone icon that's at the bottom of the screen it opens all my call history (incoming, outgoing and missed calls).
But it doesn't not list anytime stamp for any type of call. I click on the menu button and click on call history. I click on the menu button again and click on the View option. Then I select Missed calls. The time stamps just show the day. For example some of them say 3 days ago or Yesterday but no time.
The only way i'm able to see the actual time of the missed call is if I open that person contact card and view the history from there.
Is there a way I can get this information with out having to open up the contacts?
when I tap the contacts icon on the bottom of the screen, my contacts are not there, only my own name. I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing.

Email invite messages from Outlook for meetings do not show the calendar detail. Specifically, I can not see the date and time of the meeting invitations. I can perform actions to "Accept", "Decline", or Tentative" the meeting invitation. Unfortunately, there isn't any meeting detail so I don't know when the meeting is scheduled.
This is very frustrating and makes the Samsung Stratosphere or possibly the Android platform not fit for corporate environments. If I can not get this to work I will be switching to an iPhone and I will recommend to my entire corporate enterprise that we avoid Android based Smart Devices.
The Black Berry BEZ environment also provided information on meeting conflicts when you are sent a meeting invitation.
In my android app, I need to design a Welcome Screen which will be shown to the user only once after the app is installed and opened. The app in question is a database driven app and I would love to include some 3 - 4 screens to help the user create re-usable resources for use within the app and a few tips. View 3 Replies View RelatedToday my EVO recently decided to start displaying Pacific Time and thinking it's in Spokane, Washington (I live in Oklahoma). My phone number is from Spokane, WA but I moved from there a month ago and haven't had this problem until today.
I've tried changing the current city in the clock app, updating my PRL, changing the current city in the weather app, unclicking/reclicking "use wireless networks" to determine location, and nothing works.
The GPS shows I'm in Oklahoma but the time/time zone is still showing Washington. I'm lost.
