I've seen people in videos boot their phone quickly, where is the option to do this on my phone? I'm probably being very stupid but when i turn my phone on and off it does the usual slow version.

Charged my desire all through the night and unplugged this morn to check emails and surf web via wifi. must of been online for 5-10 mins and the battery had dropped to 91%. is that normal?

View 4 Replies View RelatedGot my Desire HD at the weekend, and am really struggling with the battery life, I don't use the phone much at all, couple of calls (less than an hour) checked facebook a couple of times, a read about 5 emails. Charged overnight and then by 9pm last night it was on its last legs telling me to plug it in! I have turned the apps to sync manually under settings-accounts & sync. Already used nearly 50% off the battery today and I haven't even used the phone!

Only directly after such a reboot one can set the phone discoverable without fear of another crash. Terrific!
Is there any place where could one report that bug, where Google and/or HTC would be listening?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI noticed that my Desire is heating up when Im internet browsing and the battery drains very quickly (100% to 10% in 1.5hour). Strange, because when Im not browsing the battery lasts for 2 days long. It happens only when I use it for a heavy Internet browsing or Market browsing (when it uses heavy data transfer). I use an unlimited data plan in Brazil. It occurs when I use the Wifi too. I looks like when Im tethering, but Im not.
Can it be something about processor clock control? Ive upgraded to 2.2 recently.

And I have the Modaco mod, and I know it said there was a chance it could go wrong. But I tried nandroid restore and it didn't work, now I'm still in a boot loop, what should I do?
A very strange problem that I have come across. I have 2 Sony VAIO laptops (TZ and Y series) and 2 Samsung NC10s at home. When I have my HTC desire connected via USB to the laptops for charging, I see a strange Start/ReStart/Boot behavior.
- Both the VAIOs don't boot... they start, reach the VAIO splash screen and then don't go any further. The booting process just halts.
- The Samsungs don't have any problem in booting. They booth just fine with the phone connected.
Has anyone faced this problem? I tried changing the boot order on VAIO, forcing it to boot using the internal hard drive only (thinking maybe its taking HTC Desire as one of the boot drives for some reason) - but it didn't help anyway.

I am trying to transfer about 14,000 SMS from an unrooted 2.3.5 Android to a rooted 4.2.1 Android phone.
MyBackup Pro backs them up quickly, but restores them at a rate of less than 1/second. Thus, I have been looking for another tool to back up with:
1. Titanium Backup: no, as the 2.3.5 phone is unrooted;
2. new Windows-based Ultimate Backup Tool: no, as it requires Android 4.0 or greater.
Any recommendations, other than running the restore tool all night? A tool that allowed me to back the SMS up in chronological blocks could be very useful.
I'm trying to figure out if I should ask verizon for a new battery. My eris battery life last me a full day, but my battery drops to 85% within the first hour after my phone is removed from the charger. The battery than dies slower from that point on. I figure this may be a bad battery or bad meter. Is there a way to calibrate the battery meter?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm loving my fascinate so far except for one really annoying feature (other than bing, of course). Whenever my screen goes off, the phone locks itself, and I'm forced to use the puzzle piece or the unlocked grid. This happens every time the screen auto shuts off, or when I shut it off manually with the power button. Is there a way for a non-root user to delay the autolocking to something like 30 minutes or so? As far as i can tell, there is no setting for it, only the screen timeout setting. Its annoying to keep having to unlock the phone, especially if I am driving. Anyone have any ideas?

Normally I have great battery life but sometimes my phone dies extremely quickly and it says that the dialer is using all the battery. Does anyone know what is happening and how I can prevent this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been getting pretty good battery life (about 14-16 hours on average) when I use the airplane mode trick and kill the Media Hub service. However, my phone has not been able to sleep since the past 2 days and the battery is draining quickly.
The up time indicates that the phone cannot go to sleep. I'm just surprised because I haven't changed any of my phone settings so I don't know why this is happening. I uninstalled the last app that I downloaded and that didn't help.
Should I try doing a hard reset? Are there any apps that will specifically tell me what is keeping the phone awake?
Let me start by saying that i get excellent 3g speeds and reception. My issue is that often during long calls, i find that my phone switches to edge or often gprs. after the phone call, it quickly jumps back to 3g.

If I understand it correctly, each time you select a contact, it actually 'downloads' the data from the 'google cloud'? Is there anyway to speed this up or just load the contacts on the SD card and it can more quickly pull it from the phone?

If I've got LauncherPro as my standard launcher I have a problem when I boot my phone up. If I do not put in my PIN in time it further boots up without the SIM loaded. That means that I can't text, use data (except for WiFi), call.
I then have to reboot the phone again and put in my PIN. That's quite annoying when you're booting the phone up, which takes a LONG time. If I lay down my phone for a few seconds when it's booting up and I pick it back up, I can reboot it because I didn't put my PIN in time...
You need adb and root. choose and download the bootanimation from here Boot Animations NEW! - Android @ MoDaCo. then place the bootanimation.zip into c:/where.ever.you.have.it/androidsdk/tools/ change or remove where.ever.you.have.it to the match your system. then hit windows key and r together. type cmd and hit enter. then type cd c:/where.ever.you.have.it/androidsdk/tools/adb devices (wait for it to find your phone, also make sure that usb debugging is on) now type adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local. when its finished reboot and enjoy.

I then upgraded the RUU to the following with no problems RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4. 06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed. Now my phone boots with no display, I hear the boot music and the phone is seen by the RUU upgrade if I go back in but no display.
