I've seen a lot of remarks about good call recorder apps for the EVO 4G. None of them are really that good or reliable.
To take advantage of native call recording on the EVO 4G, all you need to do is set the phone call to speaker after connected and then start the Voice Recorder app that comes with the phone. It records both sides of the conversation very clearly and you can adjust the speaker volume to about 75% for optimum audio capturing.
In the state of Texas, it is legal to record any conversation without informing the other party that you are doing so. Be sure to check with your state before recording any phone calls covertly.

I have recently been driven into by another driver and so am in phone contact with the other driver. I would like to record one of the calls where he admits liability and was wondering if this is possible on the HTC Desire (2.2 Froyo). Not sure if there's an app out there or if there's something already pre-installed on the Desire that will allow me to do this.

I would like to compile a list of Android phones that either
1) Comes with native call recording functionality.
2) Support call recording with 3rd party applications.
It would be great if you can lend a hand. Please note that phone/apps that require using speakerphone to record the calls do *not* count. That's a ugly hack I consider marginally useful. Please don't bring legality discussions here as well.Models that have this function built-in.Samsung Galaxy S (South Korean version SHW-M110S, with firmware DH09 or newer).Models that don't have this function built-in but can use 3rd party app to record calls in both ways without turning on speakerphone.HTC Magic (a.k.a. G2); requires root and custom kernel; with rViox

Has anyone else had better success on finding an app that works for this?

Record audio using the native AudioRecord interface? I'm trying to do this on my Neo Freerunner but all I get in logcat is:
I/AudioHardwareALSA( 787): Initialized ALSA CAPTURE device AndroidRecord_Microphone
D/AudioHardwareALSA( 787): Set CAPTURE PCM format to S16_LE (Signed 16 bit Little Endian)
D/AudioHardwareALSA( 787): Using 1 channel for CAPTURE.
D/AudioHardwareALSA( 787): Set CAPTURE sample rate to 8000 HZ
E/AudioFlinger( 787): Error reading audio input
W/AudioRecord( 947): obtainBuffer timed out (is the CPU pegged?) user=00000000, server=00000000
The android::AudioRecord::read() function returns the number of bytes I'm trying to read, but the resulting buffer is filled with zeroes.

From my understanding the Desire was originally supposed to have HD video recording, but this was ditched. Is it possible that a future firmware upgrade could allow HD recording, or the phone physically incapable of recording in HD?

Here are the issues I am having:
1. Can't lock screen while in a call. Red button just hangs up the call.
2. Apps cannot be installed to sd card. Internal Phone Storage after a device wipe shows about 136MB free. I downloaded about 5 or 6 apps and the phone ran out of room. I deleted the apps, but the space was not reclaimed. This is why I had to reset the device. Now I am afraid to install apps without filling it up again.
3. Bluetooth does no always connect back to my headset. sometime I have to turn on/off bluetooth on phone. Sometimes I have to reboot phone. One time I installed Pandora and bluetooth would not work until I figured out that removing Pandora would fix it.
4. Camera is no good.
5. WIFI cannot connect to an N router running in mixed mode (a,b,g,n). You must "dumb" down the router to b,g mode in order to connect the phone. This means hat other users who have no issues with N have to suffer the reduced speed of b,g.
6. No way to "EXIT" an app to reclaim RAM.
7. KB not as accurate as the iphone.
8. I have disabled HTC Sense and it is still slow. For example, often when I load favorites, nothing displays for about 3-4 seconds. This is not acceptable.
Overall, not a very tested or mature OS. I feel like I should not be starting from scratch like this. The folks at Android are guilty of using the consumer as a guinea pig. This is not acceptable. We are not reinventing the wheel, so why are obvious features missing?

Has anyone had luck with a call recording app on the Incredible? For example, AllCallRecorder, Call Record, or vRecorder. It seems that call recording capability varies with individual models. I am considering switching from the Droid to the Incredible (Motorola disabled recording entirely), but I need to know if there is an app that will work.

The advantages of SIPdroid over symbian built-in SIP support lured me into the android-land, but I'm sort of missing two apps which I got used to on symbian: one to record all my phone calls (tho no symbian app could record SIP calls, only cell-phone calls) and the voicemail machine (where the app would pick up a call after pre-determined amount of time, then play greeting and then would record a caller's message). And I don't want to shell *monthly* fees for either of these, nor can I use GV for my voicemail.

Does anybody have success recording their calls on the Eris? I have a Motorola Droid, and apparently Motorola has disabled all call recording driver-side, so I am considering switching to an Eris if there is an app which works with it. Don't much care for the Droid's keyboard, anyway.
There are several recording apps in market: AllCallRecorder, CallRecorder, vRecorder, Phone Recorder. Does anyone have any experience with any of these working on the Eris, and if it works, does it work only with the speakerphone on, or all the time?

How do I stop my HTC Hero from recording every call? I've downloaded and installed numerous apps, and after fiddling with some my phone started doing it. I see a notice on the screen when each call begins and ends. I try to tap and catch it in order to take action, but no luck.
I see I've got Phone Recorder, but when I type my password, it says "No Data." I've also got Voice Recorder, but I don't see how it's activated to record during a call, so that's likely not it. Then there's Ultimate Voice Recorder, but its settings have "automatic phone call recording" disabled.
So what could have I done to cause my phone to record each call I make? How can I stop that from happening? And how can I erase all the recorded calls, which have got to be filling up the unit?
I'd still like to record an occasional business call for accurate info, notifying the other party of course. But I have a hunch that the recording process causes people to not hear me as clearly. At least that started happening about the time I noticed the recordings.

I'd like to know if it's possible to associate a protocol (for example: 'myapp') to a native application installed on a Blackberry (or Android) so that if a user types in 'myapp://xxx' in a web browser it calls the native application. In this case, how is it possible to achieve it? As far as I understood, it's possible to do it with iphone but I don't know if it's possible with blackberry or android.

I have several modules within a single native library, each module is intended to be the compliment to a Java class within the application. How can I call the native functions without having to perform a System. load Library within each Java class? If I load the library in a common class (not through inheritance) the app fails with a link exception.

Currently creating a VOIP application for Android and I was wondering is there any possible way to supress the In Call Dialog when sending a call over GSM and use our own 3rd party In Call Dialog or screen instead? At the minute when we switch from our VOIP call and send it over GSM via the ACTION_CALL intent it does everything we want except it brings up the native In Call screen whereas we want our own In Call screen to display here.So I was wondering what kind of options we would have on this?
