HTC Desire :: Need To Copy Contacts To Sim From Phone
Nov 8, 2010My Desire needs to go back for repair and i need to copy my contacts on to my Sim card so i can use the Sim in another phone. i have tried a few apps but they all keep telling me the Sim card is either full or locked (its got no contacts on it. Does anyone know of a free way to do this, i have found a program but it was about �20, don't really want to spend that if i can help it.

Can only find the option of import from SIM (of which i have no contacts on), Import from SD card and Export to SD card.
I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks and I'm not taking my Desire in case i lose it, so need to transfer contacts to SIM.

Jun 16, 2010I am trying to put videos onto my Desire but with no joy. I'm dragging the files from my computer into folders on my Desire but cant seem to find them on my phone. Even when i do a search on my phone find it comes up with nothing. I cant even find a video player in which to look for them. Can someone give me a guide on which folders video's should be placed into, and how to find them on my phone and view them?

Jul 3, 2010I lost a contact somehow and so created a new one with name only but no phone, email details. Then I linked the contact to that persons facebook profile, so now the contact diplays their details from facebook. Then I sync with gmail contacts and looking at their contact in gmail it shows some link metadata rather than the actuial phone numbers etc. This is the data:

Is there any way to have the phone copy the contact data it reads from facebook and store this in the phone in the person's contact record? This way it will track through to gmail contacts.

Jul 16, 2010I'll make this short and sweet. My social network widget uploaded photos for my contacts. My girlfriends contact; I would prefer to have a photo that I took as contact pic; everytime I edit the photo, it reconfigures to the facebook pic. What can I do about this? And the second thing, is anyone else completely disappointed with how difficult it is to copy and paste text from a browser page? I goto settings to select text and no magnifying feature comes up, not to mention that it immediately selects whatever is highlighted once I remove my finger from the screen.

Jun 12, 2010I just got my Desire a few days ago, and so far i am very pleased with it (coming from a Nokia N95 8GB). I do find the contact handling somewhat counter intuitive however. For example , i have some contacts from facebook for which i have no other contacts created, but i need to add additional information (in particular phone numbers). I do not seem to be able to add information to a facebook contact. Do i really need to manually create another contact, then manually give it the same name and then link it to the facebook profile in order to have a place to add the phone number?

Jun 18, 2010I have some contacts that are NOT facebook contacts or on any social networks! I want to be able to display their photo from a photo on my phone, or indeed a photo that I have bluetoothed from my PC. However, when I do this, it asks me to 'crop' the photo, which I do, and it simply displays just the top of their head in the little thumbnail! Even if I DONT crop it, I still get the top of their head.

Nov 6, 2010I have a built in car system that connects to the phone via bluetooth. Unfortunately, this system will not read the phonebook directly from the phone, and you need to transfer the phonebook via bluetooth to the car system.
On my old phone (Samsung i8910), you were able to go into contacts, mark all the contacts and then transfer them via bluetooth.
On the DHD I cannot seem to find an option for this. Any ideas how I can achieve this?

Jul 14, 2010I just purchased my new HTC desire and i have a problem : 1) Adding a new contact number to either phone or Google account. Name/surname are saved but the phone number doesn't get saved; so when editing the contact, no phone number appears. Then, when gonig under Phone and typing the letters of the name just added, i can find it in the drop list of "guessed names" with the number right under the name. I want to be able to view my contact and see the phone number from the application People; and that's impossible now because of this problem.
