May 22, 2010When I start the camera up, it shows nothing but black (no, the lens isn't covered in any way/shape/form). If I hit the track ball as usual it acts as though it's taking a picture though it's also nothing but black. What am I missing here? BTW, I'm on 2.1 and did a factory reset two days ago.

Mar 2, 2012last week i tried to root my HTC and all sudden the camera turned black and white.
so i reset the phone to the defult and i still have the same problem.and an application called " superuser " haven't been deleted.also the software version is 2.2, and i tried to update but i couldn't!

Feb 5, 2014My Tablet shows black screen after a while animation android logo and no more work. So I tried factory reset. But factory reset doesn't proceed to recover menu. It shows only factory reset logo (Android logo with red triangle) like screenshot.
My tab has only 3 button (power, Volume up and down). I tried both of them. But the logo doesn't move. How to factory reset?

Sep 15, 2010I followed the instructions and examples on Android website to create a context menu but mine shows up completely black and i cannot change any options in it ; anyone out there had the same experience and can help me solve this issue.

HTC Desire :: Camera Flash Not Working
Jul 8, 2010Bought a HTC Desire and just cannot get its camera flash working. Obviously having hard time with people at the shop ("have you tried taking these pictures at night, maybe it understands that it is still daytime even if you tried it in bathroom"). My dumb brain would suggest that manual - flash always on (unless that 5% battery limit is not hit), automatic - depends on sensor income, off - no flash. Really hard to search for stuff like that in forums as usually "flash not working" refers to Adobe Flash.

Sep 5, 2010Has anyone got this problem like me? yesterday it happened to me for the 2nd time, I just click the camera app and out of nowhere I got a black screen, like camera freezes or something. So first time what I did was make a factory reset and everything was back to normal,and that was beforo Froyo, now when I am running Froyo, I wonder when I make a factory reset does it turns me all the way back to the stock desire, without new software version and Froyo update? I have bought Desire on contract so I have everything official, no unbranded or rooted phone.

Aug 1, 2010When launching the camera or camcorder the icon for either the camera or camcorder appears in the middle of the screen for a fraction of a second then the app closes. sd card is mounted and i can read existing pictures and videos off it.i unmounted and remounted the card. issue remains.

Aug 5, 2010When at the home screen and then moving two screens to the right I get to what looks to be some type of image player in the middle and it has the Media Share, Blockbuster, Camcorder, and Gallery at the bottom.
While playing around with the camera I just took some random photos of junk and have since deleted them. But now in the middle of the screen I still see what seems to be the last image I took. Yet the file isn't actually on the phone or card. The round button in the middle (with the square around the 'play' icon) is selected but red (when I touch it it turns green and used to scroll through the photos before I deleted them).
How do I get this ugly blurry test image out of this screen and back to the way it was before?

Jan 19, 2010i have a big black dog. anytime i want to record her with her taking up just a portion of the screen the droid screen turns very very dark almost all black. to the point hwere i can t really make out what i am recording. whats the point? i have tried differnt settings but i still get the same thing. has anyone else had this problem with the camera goinng black?

General :: Sero 7 Pro Camera Stops - Just Goes Black
Dec 6, 2013I have a Sero 7 Pro, and for some odd reason, the camera stops. Doesn't stop working, just goes black. I have to stop recording and restart. Sometimes it will record for hours, other times for 20 to 30 seconds. I use it as a dash cam and it's getting irritating.

Dec 9, 2009I've been playing with my camera today, and finally figure out how to take decent pix, but after scrolling through my album, I tried to go to the camera again, but now everytime I try the screen is black. And it stays black even after I remove my battery. A few times, I couldn't even get to home--the screen just stayed black.
Now it's still black when I go to the camera, but at least I can access home without having to remove my battery. I called Bestbuy and they said I can exchange, but I'm afraid I might get one with a messed up GPS. :-( Will Bestbuy fix it or make me exchange? Will Sprint fix it even though I'm still in my 30-day trial?

The screen will turn black with the camera or video image and then go back to the home screen. I have tried restarting the phone with the same results. Any suggestions? Nov 30, 2009Both flash was set on auto (yes even the second one) in low-medium lighting. This happened on my first Droid after a week or so of owning it so I returned it. Tried a hard reset and restarting the phone, didn't help. I also cleaned the lens and made sure my fingers were not in the way. The flash does go off each time.

Getting my location on google maps using mobile networks only puts me in Stockholm, and so nothing location based works. Oct 17, 2010HTC Evo was working fine, started noticing screen flickering but phone continued to work fine. Updated to froyo 2.2 and did sprint updates, phone still worked fine, then next day in the middle of playing with phone screen flickered and went black. Tried removing battery and rebooting several times but no luck. Left battery out overnight and tried again in the morning white htc screen appeared and then flickered out to black. did a hard reset, with the screen still black and still nothing. I've gone back to my phone after it has set for hours untouched and press the power button I can see the lock screen but it too goes away after a second or two. Phone is functioning lights at the bottom of the phone are lit and respond when I press them just no visible image. I don't have the insurance so I'll have to pay for all the fixes myself and I've had it since August so there is no returning it to the store. I've searched the web and I haven't seen a solution to what the problem could be is it the LCD screen or the motherboard. I'm ordering another screen but I'd hate to find out it is something else.

Mar 1, 2010I am running modaco 3.2 core custom rom ssh seems pretty good very little lag but cant help thinking that something is wrong as titanium back up, wireless teather and super user permision don't work they all load and then the screen goes black and says su request in the corner before saying activity su request(in application superuser permissions)is not responding, force close. i rooted and also started using gde home mod got to say it is pretty good although i had to pay for it but has a good replacement for sence only trouble is widgets don't seem to work or just aren't there except for clock,conversation, any of you experiencing this problem?is there something similar but better that widgets do work. what is the best firmware/rom upgrade e.g 1.6-1.8 or 2.1. Has anyone got these working well on the hero. Is there a big delay when waiting for a alert after you receive a message or is it just my hero?

Mar 17, 2014My phone (xtouch x508) isn't showing any display (even tried restarting, put it under sunlight) but I can receive sms and call, touch works too in lock and unlock. (I can see No logo at start, no display at all). However, Backlight is working. I can see light.
PS. It also happened a month ago and after 3 days display came itself. But now it's been more than a week and no sign of display. PPS. I also changed the battery but the problem persists.

Dec 11, 2009I'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!
