Has anyone else had this problem, my desire thinks my location is Stockholm, Sweden, when in reality i'm in Herfordshire in the UK!! Getting my location on google maps using mobile networks only puts me in Stockholm, and so nothing location based works. Very frustrating.GPS eventually gets me back on track, but I dont' keep this on all the time.

Weird thing I've noticed is that in some text message threads replies are listed before my text.One thing I was thinking was when I set up the phone I adjusted the clock to be a minute or two fast. Could this affect the message ordering? Assuming the phone orders them by time sent?I may have answered my own question but I thought it would be smarter than that!

Is this a known bug, and if not how do I report it to HTC?

View 11 Replies View RelatedHow could I fix the location which appears on the clock on the home screen and serves as weather forecast location? I am not living near a big city listed on the weather location list and when at home, the current location usually is indicated some dozen miles away from my home. This could be a cosmetic problem, but in the Alps (where I am living) weather a short distance away can be quite different from where you are.
Besides that, it would be nice to know the weather at home while beeing abroad.
I've just taken delivery of my brand new HTC Desire and I'm having a little difficulty importing my contacts from my old SE W995. I've put the SIM card in the new handset and it seems to have recognized some of the numbers but as far as I can see its only showing one number per contact whereas my W995 let me save a few different numbers for each contact (work, home, mobile etc) - is there any way to get the HTC to recognize this without keying them all in again?

When sending an SMS you type your msg and click on the little human icon in the top right corner to view your contacts well my Desire is showing my phone, sim, google and Facebook contacts! all i want to see there is my phone contacts there is no option to change the view? and when you click <Groups> it shows <Device Contacts> but shows no contacts although i have lots on my device? is this a known issue or have i got settings wrong?
So far i have had to unsync my FB which i really dont want to do because its great having peoples pictures alongside there numbers and when they ring...I have set my phone to only show my phone contacts (in the 'People' settings) not my google or my SIM or my FB!
Still after all the above i now get my duplicates because the phone still shows my phone and SIM contacts WAY?
I cannot delete my SIM contacts as i need them on there! surely this is a bug of some sorts? because i have checked every setting i can find to stop it....you would have thought there would have been an option in menu to let the end user select which contacts to view? i only want to view phone contacts and the only was it to do this it seems is to disable some of the very good features this phone has....
I'm a bit concerned my phone is reporting 775 goggle contacts, but goggle says 639. I am about to delete all contacts off my phone and tidy up the ones on goggle by merging duplicates, and then re-import from goggle to my phone... but am reluctant to do this while the phone says i have more goggle contacts that goggle does I have synced a couple times but still the numbers don't match. I have checked and goggle still has not merged contacts so that isn't the reason for the difference either.

Done numerous restarts and a factory reset.
My friend has just got a Desire and is having a problem with her contacts. She has chosen to just put contacts in People manually and link them to Google and Facebook manually, which is fine, but when she goes to call or message someone, the phone brings up all of the contacts on her phone (e.g. the Google and Facebook ones) rather than just those stored in People. This is really annoying as it means she has to scroll through loads of people she'll never want to call/text. We've tried going to Accounts & Sync and unsyncing contacts but that hasn't worked. Any suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a contact in my phone, with a picture. When i receive a message / call from her, it comes up with her Facebook picture, not the one on the phone. The contact is not linked to facebook and i have un-synced facebook. I had lived with it if it was just the picture change, but i also get problems returning messages. It is not picking up the correct number. I have her number as 07.In facebook it's +44. It is using the facebook one and not picking up the "+", so is an incorrect number. It's frustrating the hell outta me, especially as it's the person i text most.

It's all set up fine, I can send emails from it (have tested this too) - the only, somewhat major problem!, is that it says my inbox has 'No Mail' regardless of how many times I refresh the page. It's showing my mail in the sent folder ok but have never been able to retrieve my mail from my inbox for some bizarre reason.

However, when I open this intent, the gps on the device starts and google maps first displays my location instead of the location in the URI. This happens only the first time you open google maps. If I go back to my app and make the same selection, then the correct position on the map appears.I tried using something like this: geo:0,0?q=*business+near+city, however this doesnt centers the map on a position, but in the nearest address.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have htc one x and sometimes the clock and weather widget gives me a location in chinese language. However, I live in Portugal and OS language is Portuguese.
I removed widget and put it again, restart, safe mode, clear cache and data in weather app... But all these steps failed.
This issue happened before and after hard reset.
Device is updated to 4.2.2

I have a debranded Desire running the updated radio rom (the one that restores the broken wifi)
When using position based apps on my new Desire (Android 2.1) I can't help but notice that finding the location always takes forever (>1 minute after switching GPS on).My old HTC HD (Windows Mobile 6.1) was much quicker in providing a location after switching on GPS. The trick was, that the HTC HD had a pre-installed application "QuickGPS" that regularly downloaded some data that apparently helped in locating the satellites and/or calculating the position. On my old device I thus had a valid position typically in less than 10 seconds after switching GPS on.I haven't found any similar utility for Android and I don't want to have GPS active all the time for battery reasons. Are there any similar tools or other "tricks" that can help the GPS subsystem to provide the location quicker?

When I rotate my phone, the arrow turns round, but the location is nowhere near where I actually am. Anybody have any idea what I can do about this, as I really need to use this feature.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anybody had the same issue with GPS as I did. When I launched Locations first time, it found the satelite very fast. Now it almost cannot find a satelite to update my location. I wrote almost, because once it did manage, but that was once in at least twenty tries. Do you have any idea how to check if the radio is ok. I read somewhere that one should try with master reset of the phone. If so, would it be enough to backup my data with Titanium backup and option "Backup all users apps + system data" and restore it later on? Will that make a full restore of my phone or do I have to backup some additoial data? Like, what will happend to my personalize data, apps passwords etc.

As a test I went for a drive today and whist 'Latitude' showed where I was, the google home page still showed the wrong location, and HTC widget still showed just 'United Kingdom'...
This has just got me stumped..
