HTC EVO 4G :: Youtube App Not Working - Just Goes To A Black Screen

I just got a new HTC Evo and when I use the youtube app it just goes to a black screen like it is loading but doesn't do anything, but if I go to the browser and go to youtube it works. I can't use any of the soft keys at the bottom, I have to make the phone go to sleep then open it again. I was wondering if it just takes long to load or if the app is broken, I am only in a 3g area but I wouldn't think that that would affect it. It shows my notification bar but doest let me access it

When i fire up my youtube app, i get a quick black screen flash and it goes back to home screen. The app doesnt launch at all. It was working just fine for several months, all of a sudden it started doing this.

HTC Evo was working fine, started noticing screen flickering but phone continued to work fine. Updated to froyo 2.2 and did sprint updates, phone still worked fine, then next day in the middle of playing with phone screen flickered and went black. Tried removing battery and rebooting several times but no luck. Left battery out overnight and tried again in the morning white htc screen appeared and then flickered out to black. did a hard reset, with the screen still black and still nothing. I've gone back to my phone after it has set for hours untouched and press the power button I can see the lock screen but it too goes away after a second or two. Phone is functioning lights at the bottom of the phone are lit and respond when I press them just no visible image. I don't have the insurance so I'll have to pay for all the fixes myself and I've had it since August so there is no returning it to the store. I've searched the web and I haven't seen a solution to what the problem could be is it the LCD screen or the motherboard. I'm ordering another screen but I'd hate to find out it is something else.

I am running modaco 3.2 core custom rom ssh seems pretty good very little lag but cant help thinking that something is wrong as titanium back up, wireless teather and super user permision don't work they all load and then the screen goes black and says su request in the corner before saying activity su request(in application superuser permissions)is not responding, force close. i rooted and also started using gde home mod got to say it is pretty good although i had to pay for it but has a good replacement for sence only trouble is widgets don't seem to work or just aren't there except for clock,conversation, any of you experiencing this problem?is there something similar but better that widgets do work. what is the best firmware/rom upgrade e.g 1.6-1.8 or 2.1. Has anyone got these working well on the hero. Is there a big delay when waiting for a alert after you receive a message or is it just my hero?

I'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!

I have a problem with front camera doesn't work for me. When i choose to front camera so The screen is black and show me massage: the gallery doesnt work and then show message not connecting ro camera. It doesn't work on all rom.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work. When I turn front camera so the camera is crashed but when I do restart. It working for a moment...after Doesnt work. R800i

I know there have been other threads about the Youtube app no longer working (majority of the time), but it looks like it hasn't been commented on in awhile.SO, I really want to get this phone but won't until I know the bug is fixed.Can you Eris users let me know if your Youtube app is working or not working? (basically by not working I mean, almost every video you try to open you get a message saying: "Sorry, this video cannot be played")Also, does anyone have any logical ideas as to why not EVERY Eris user is affected by this bug?

This was reported in the other thread about X8 Issues, but thought to start a new one to gather feedback from users. It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.

I can't play videos on YouTube. I have to sit there and click and click and click on them before they will play. "This video cannot be played" is displayed about 15 times before they will play. Before this upgrade, they played fine.

I bought HTC Evo 4G. At first, youtube app was working. Now it is not working. When I click on the app, it crashes. I even unsuccessfully tried launching app by website or link. I went to Settings>App>YouTube. I cleared the cache and file storage but it did not make the difference. I cannot reinstall the app. I do not what to do.

I don't know if this is an issue with my phone or with the app but every time I try and play a video it shows the loading symbol, then the screen just goes black and my phone freezes for a minute or two. Then it eventually just says "Sorry! Activity YouTube (in application YouTube) is not responding. Any ideas?

1) After I make a call, the screen goes black in a matter of seconds. I'm typically using a headset when I notice this. To end the call (or enter numbers in a call menu) I need to press the sleep button to get the screen to light up again. This is a pain in the a$$.I have the screen timeout set for 2 mins.
2) About once or twice a day the home screen will lock where I can't press anything. I need to reboot to fix.

Sometimes when I hit the screen/power button the screen will stay black and i can see the menu bar up top fine but all else is black. If I hit the home key then all lights up fine. Then sometimes Ill hit the button and it works fine.

When I start the camera up, it shows nothing but black (no, the lens isn't covered in any way/shape/form). If I hit the track ball as usual it acts as though it's taking a picture though it's also nothing but black. What am I missing here? BTW, I'm on 2.1 and did a factory reset two days ago.

My phone (xtouch x508) isn't showing any display (even tried restarting, put it under sunlight) but I can receive sms and call, touch works too in lock and unlock. (I can see No logo at start, no display at all). However, Backlight is working. I can see light.
PS. It also happened a month ago and after 3 days display came itself. But now it's been more than a week and no sign of display. PPS. I also changed the battery but the problem persists.

I updated to froyo 2.2 yesterday and ever since the camera, camcorder and YouTube apps flash open for a second and immediately close. I called Sprint's tech support and the lady said that Sprint did not work the bugs out of it for their phones yet, and that I have to go to the store and have them completely wipe it. This is unacceptable because I literally have put thousands of things on my evo. Is there anything else that can be done?

Ok I just tried to watch a video on HQ while having several bars of service but when I click the HQ button in the youtube app it just resets the video and never has HQ highlighted in red... anyone else having this issue? I already power cycled my Evo too. Spoke to a co-worked who has the Captivate and HQ is working for him fine.

This is a G1 and I am using a WiFi connection. when I go to Youtube ap and click Menu/my account/my videos , I can see all the videos uploaded via computer, but not the G1 video i waited 10 minutes to upload. they seem to upload into nowhere.

I have an old Samsung I-997 Infuse, running 2.2 Froyo, and rooted. After installing the latest YouTube version, my YouTube no longer works.. I'm guessing because of an incompatibility with the old Froyo version. When I try to view any YouTube, from the app. or even from the web, I get a simple announcement which states "An Error Occurred".I've tried the normal uninstall, reinstall. Is there a way to install an older version of YouTube?

For some reason, youtube videos are not working on my phone. They were working lasst night!? I am running the HQ youtube app FYI and am on Dd10. Why did it suddenly stop working? Now when I click into videos, it says cannot play video.
