Motorola Droid :: Camera Just Show Black Screen?
Jul 4, 2010Has anyone had there camera just show a black screen? it makes the autofocus noises but black screen. I have done a bat pull and it still doesn't work.

Jan 19, 2010i have a big black dog. anytime i want to record her with her taking up just a portion of the screen the droid screen turns very very dark almost all black. to the point hwere i can t really make out what i am recording. whats the point? i have tried differnt settings but i still get the same thing. has anyone else had this problem with the camera goinng black?

Nov 30, 2009Both flash was set on auto (yes even the second one) in low-medium lighting. This happened on my first Droid after a week or so of owning it so I returned it. Tried a hard reset and restarting the phone, didn't help. I also cleaned the lens and made sure my fingers were not in the way. The flash does go off each time.

Apr 12, 2010I've been block by this question for about a week. I tried to implement a simple application: show a image, when user touch on screen, I want to create a GLSurfaceView to cover the previous image. Then show some 3D effects on this GLSurfaceView.
The logic is quite simple. But I have a serious problem. When GLSurfaceView comes out, the whole screen become black, after 1-2 seconds, the GLSurfaceView with texture shows up. Is there any way to make this smoothly? The 1-2 second black screen is really a bad user experience.

Samsung Moment :: Camera Screen Just Stay Black
Dec 9, 2009I've been playing with my camera today, and finally figure out how to take decent pix, but after scrolling through my album, I tried to go to the camera again, but now everytime I try the screen is black. And it stays black even after I remove my battery. A few times, I couldn't even get to home--the screen just stayed black.
Now it's still black when I go to the camera, but at least I can access home without having to remove my battery. I called Bestbuy and they said I can exchange, but I'm afraid I might get one with a messed up GPS. :-( Will Bestbuy fix it or make me exchange? Will Sprint fix it even though I'm still in my 30-day trial?
HTC EVO 4G : Screen Turn Black With Camera - Video Image
Aug 2, 2010So I just finished my ota 2.2 update... since the install everything has been working great however when I open the camera (still or video) it will not open. The screen will turn black with the camera or video image and then go back to the home screen. I have tried restarting the phone with the same results. Any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this? btw I was unrooted and stock if that makes a difference prior to the update.

Oct 15, 2010I'm happier than a pig in poo with my Droid 2, the thing is amazing.However, my girlfriend's not so much. She got the deal from Wireless Amazon Beta, where she only paid 39.99.I wasn't able to, wasn't eligible for upgrade and got mine at the store.Anyhow, her phone a couple days in would freeze, the screen would go black, and then it reboots.Now it happens a couple times a day at least.Obviously seems like it's defective, but I'm wondering if anybody else is dealing with the same problem?If so, have you taken into Verizon. what have they told you or done for you?Wondering if she should send this back to Amazon Wireless, or head into a Verizon.And I'm wondering what kind of return/exchange/refurbishing headache were in for.

Jul 15, 2010Well I managed to get my hands on an X from my local VZW store this morning. First impression of the screen is that it is very washed out when compared to my old Droid. Side by side, the original Droid shows colors very vividly while the Droid X almost looks like it just made it past black and white. Just wanted to get some opinions on the screen from others. I also managed to play with a Samsung Vibrant at a T-mobile store and it was very beautiful, almost makes me want to return the X and wait for the fascinate to come out on VZW.

Dec 28, 2009Are any of you having trouble with this? The sensor doesn't seem to be working the way it should. I have a problem accessing the keyboard during calls to automated services and sometimes the screen won't stay lit long enough for me to end my calls.
Aside from that, my Droid keeps freezing up today. I haven't had any trouble with that before. I've got a week to go before I pass my 30 day trial. I'm not sure what to do. This phone has to be mailed in as I got it online. If there's a way to fix these problems, I'd rather not send it in and wait 3 weeks to receive a new one.
Motorola Droid 2 :: Installed Stealth Guard And Screen Went Black
Sep 20, 2010I got the Stealth Guard for my son's D2 and I followed the instructions wetting my fingers and the adhesive sode of the plastic. After installing, the screen died and is on but no lights work on the phone to backlight it at all. I powered it off and told him to give it the night... but do you think I ruined the phone now? I'm really upset that I may have ruined my boys new phone. Please tell me that this is something that self fixes!

Apr 5, 2010I am hard to impress and this device really impresses me. No bugs or issues yet that I haven't been able to fix. Camera works great. Screen is beautiful. Everything is solid. Call quality is great. Signal is rock solid (better, in fact, than my old LG, which was itself good). GPS is crazy accurate (can tell which couch I'm sitting on within the same room).
Motorola, Google, and Verizon is a team that's hard to match if the owner is ready to invest the time in setting up the device properly.

I don't like using the dedicated camera button because my case is sort of thick and the button is so small, its hard to get it to snap the shot, I'd rather tap the screen like other android phones.
