New member as I got my Desire today to replace my Iphone and so far I am loving the phone. What I would like to know is: is it only possible to download and install apps for the Desire via the PC first and then HTC sync them?Or is there a way to download & install directly to the Desire?

Well o this is my 3rd android device that I had used and for some reason I see something weird when I download and app and install from the market, the phone slow downs in the progress, my Samsung moment never slow done at all always kept the same speed downloading up to 4 apps and this one does it only with 1 and up, is there something wrong with my phone or is just like that cause of sense UI.

I updated firmware to 1.5 about a month ago and I have installed apps since then with success, I just can't do it now. Argh! It's really annoying.Are there settings I can check, or change the way it downloads? I'm trying to download over secure wifi and it doesn't seem to matter if the battery's fully charged or not.

I bought xperia x10 last week and since then i've been trying to download some apps and/or games but i never sucseeded. i connected with usb on the pc, i downloaded the sony ericson pc companion i tried to install appbrain on the phone i selected sync on te settings.... But i never managed to sync the phone with the pc so i can install directly from the internet or to download some apps.

I got mine on Monday and am very happy with it apart from that when I am at work and using the WiFi here, I cant download any apps. They just sit there and says starting download. I then turn off the WiFi and put on Data Connection and they still dont download. But when I go home and am connected to my WiFi, it all seems to work.

I tried to update my angry birds and adobe air. My htc desire was fine during the download, but then when it started installing, my phone would say update successfulness. The same thing happened when i tried to install some new apps.
I have managed to root my HTC desire, and install the apps2sd using my gold card, however, i cant figure out how to install apps to my sd card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way for restoring apps after a ROM install. Currently I am using Defrost but it updates that often I try to keep up. I have got into the practice of making a backup using ROM manager then doing a full cache and data wipe before installing the new ROM.
I have been letting the phone do its own thing and eventually the apps seem to restore themselves eventually, but is there a quicker way to restore them after a full wipe.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI went to purchase the acircuit live wallpaper app. The transaction failed to go through because my bank blocked it, as it was less than 1. It is now sitting in my list of downloaded apps in the Market app (not the installed list) and it says purchased. There is an install option, which if pressed tries to download it again, but fails because it has been blocked. I don't want the app now and just wish to clear this from my download list. I have installed an unistaller app, but this just shows a list of the installed apps. Can anyone help me with a solution to get rid of this from my app downloads list in the Market app.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUp until today i have had no problems with my Desire, then i tried to sync my phone with HTC Sync and the phone couldn't see the software. done the usual and checked and double checked i had the right settings, also un installed it and re installed from the SD card and it see's it but won't allow apps to be installed from my pc 80004005 is the error i get when clicking on the application installer in HTC Sync. I have tried the updated HTC sync from HTC website and that won't even install to my PC, i get an error when clicking the .exe All this was working fine yesterday and now somethings wrong Any ideas guys?

I've been searching around the internet (and here) and everything suggests they should be in the "Download" section of the market, but they're not. I've used the same account, complete with the email receipts you get for each purchase, but nothing is showing up.

I went to marketplace, and SOME of my previously paid for apps showed up as 'purchased' which I then reinstalled fine, but a lot of the rest are not even appearing when I search for them, although their free demo versions do appear. My google checkout lists all the apps I paid for no problems when I look at purchase history on a computer, but still, I cannot even search for these paid apps, let alone attempt to install them!

They would download fine but then I'd get a message saying "Installation unsuccessful" but not give me any further information as to why that is. When using .apk files, I get "Application not installed" but no further information as well.
I have enough space on both the phone and the SD card and I am running a rooted 2.2 original ROM.

I am new to the forum. I have searched for a similar topic so apologies if this has already been tackled elsewhere. I have just purchased an unlocked HTC Desire which I should take delivery of next week. I didn't want to get tied to an 18 or 24 month contract so opted for the unlocked phone. I am interested in the �10.00 a month rolling sim card only contract with T-Mobile with Internet booster as I want the phone primarily for Internet use as I hardly make calls/texts. However, the guy said 1 gb a month wasn't enough for Android phones and that things running in the background and downloading apps is too much of a drain and uses up your quota very quickly.
Is this correct? If so, is it possible to download apps to pcs and then to the phone to save the monthly usage? I have seen posts about wifi - is is possible to download apps using Wifi to save on monthly usage?
I seem cant update my apps cos it just said "starting download" all time but it never finish what it suppose to do and does anyone know how to fix this probelm?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLong time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

Whenever I head to the market to install an app, I will click the "install button" and then click "okay" and it states that my app will be downloaded. However, the progress bar will remain at "initiating download" or something of sort and can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to download and install. Is anyone else receiving this lag with the market, or does anyone know a fix?
