HTC Desire :: HD Video Update ?
May 18, 2010I'm a long term Nokia user and have recently joined android and gotta say I love it so far just got a question about the video capture, I remember seeing reviews where it was mentioned that an update was likely that would enable hd video capture is there any truth in this or is it purely an educated guess due to the snapdragon processor supporting hd? Also could anyone help me get the best from the settings we currently have I recently made a video in a nightclub and it almost looks as if it's in slow motion! This is the only area I feel my old Nokia is currently still no top.

Aug 9, 2010I update my Desire to 2.2 last week and was excited to try out 720p video recording. I slid out the panel on the screen and chose video, it switches to video but then the camera app just quits and I can't use the video camera. This happens every time I switch to video and I've tried turning my phone off and on again many times and it hasn't fixed the issue. I've searched on line and no one seems to be having this issue. Any ideas?

Jun 2, 2010I'm new to the Android OS having been a Symbian (2nd phone is a Nokia N97) and Windows Mobile user previously. My question regards a copy of Family Guy (Something, Something, Something, Dark Side) which I purchased yesterday. The standard DVD also comes with a digital copy on the DVD which, when inserted into the drive brings up a choice of transferring the file to my computer to be copied over to my Desire as either a iTunes file or a Windows Media Video (WMV).Ideally I want to avoid the iTunes route as currently I have no use for that program on my system so I would like to be able to use the WMV version. When I copied the file to my Desire, it didn't play and the phone didn't seem to recognise it. Can anyone please give me advice on how to play a WMV on my Desire?

Sep 22, 2010Can anyone help? everytime I play a Youtube video on my Desire it plays for a couple of seconds and then Stops with the error message 'Sorry this video cannot be played, there was a problem while playing' I have tried allsorts to try and rectify it without success.

Jun 29, 2010Anyone else having a problem getting video chat to work from Fring/Skype? I applied this OTA update this afternoon, and now all i can get in Fring is audio. My FF cam shows myself, and Skype on the PC shows it's own webcam, but neither me nor the receiving PC can see each other's cams. I've done a reboot on both PC and EVO and still no video-to-video. I'm not saying it is the OTA that caused this, just wondering if someone else can test their Fring/Skype after the OTA has been installed to verify?

HTC EVO 4G :: How Froyo Update Camera / Video Quality?
Jun 11, 2010I remarked to my wife that the video shot with my new EVO looked like home movies from when we were kids. I then saw that the EVO shoots at 24 fps which explains the home movie video look. Will/can the Froyo update improve the video and or camera quality? It's not a deal breaker but when you have kids it's nice to have a video camera with you at all times. I've got 3 more weeks left on my 30 day trial period. I know the i Phone 4 will shoot at 30 fps and the test images I've seen are considerably better than my EVO.

Nov 30, 2010I upgraded my SE X8 from A 1.6 to 2.1 and now i cant play video files! when i had version 1.6 the video was awesome HD and stuff,but now i can see the icon ,name,time but when i click on the video file it says that it can't open it,even the 2 videos that were on the phone don't work any more it says the same thing as opening any other video file.I've tried reinstalling the 2.1,and even repairing it but that didn't solve the problem.

Samsung Moment :: No AVI Video Support After 2.1 Update?
May 14, 2010I downloaded the 2.1 update from sprint and I can longer watch AVI videos. Please tell me my phone is bugged! I've re-transferred videos I previously watched on CL14 but they all say "sorry this video can't be played."
I've tried several different media players. I really hope this is just a random bug on my specifiv phone because I watch a lot of tv on it and I really don't have extra time to convert file types everyday.

Jun 4, 2010UPDATE- 6-4-10 12:15PM Central. The dev just released another update, a fix for the DI. This removes the thumbnails and solves the problem. It now works as it did before. I applaud the dev's quick turnaround. He got out an update within about 3 hours after my initial email.
Just a heads up, if you have the Act1 Video Player, DO NOT UPDATE. (UPDATE 6-4-10)
It adds thumbnails to the videos which destroys the app.
Here's the summary I sent to the developer:The app opens as fast as it always has.
I have 3 folders with videos on them, 1 internal, 2 SD. They have 3-4 videos each. Pressing anyone, there is a 3-10 second lag until the files and thumbnails show up, longer if one folder is already expanded. The thumbnails are incorrect for some files, correct for others. With folders expanded, the app becomes unresponsive after a while. Opening a file takes about 10-15 seconds, if even successful. Playback seems fine, although scrubbing takes a little while to get going at first.

Aug 31, 2010When trying to do 720p recording the camera freezes, turns black and requires a battery removal. I got about 3 seconds of 720p recording but even when I go in to view the video it freezes or lags severely to the point I need to remove the battery.

Jul 25, 2010NFL Mobile application forced an update today and I followed the instructions to uninstall the old application when the new one was installed. when I run the app I am getting an error notification that: "You appear to be roaming. to avoid excess roaming charges video has been disabled". I have found the Play Store no longer supports Adobe Flash Player so I've tried to manually install the latest android v4.0 software from the archives files but even after installation it still does not let me view. I can view all the videos on my PC without a problem.
