HTC Incredible :: Downloading Movies Using SkyRaider RC3 - Default Kernal?
Sep 10, 2010Every time it begins the download, It will go to the download screen and then the word "error" appears no matter what kind a file it is. I'm using Skyraider RC3 for Sense using it's default Kernal.

Aug 10, 2010When I make phone calls, the default screen is the large Droid with the Mute, Speaker and other buttons. I always end up having to press the Keypad button to get the phone keypad to display (checking voicemail or skipping voicemail greetings)Is there anyway to have the keypad be the default screen during phone calls? It seems like the keypad is used much more than Speaker or Mute.

Jan 21, 2012I have Go Launcher installed and would like to change the default icon for an app in the tray. When I press on the icon now it gives me the choice to replace it with a custom icon and that is what I would like to do. I actually would like to use the icon for the default calendar (on my Bionic) for the icon for this app but I can not seem to locate the calendar icon.
how I can locate this icon for use or if not possible then suggest other method to show a calendar as the icon.
Samsung Moment :: Default Facebook Shortcut Icon
May 3, 2010I've found some other threads discussing the fact that the default shortcut for Facebook is actually just a shortcut to a browser bookmark for Facebook. If you delete this shortcut, you can re-create it, but it has a boring red flag icon. With a custom bookmark app, you could restore this original icon... but only if you know where to find it. Where is that icon stored? It has to be somewhere on the root of the phone. Using root explorer, I can't find it. I'm guessing it's stored inside of an archive somewhere. Any ways to search more thoroughly?
Related: can I somehow use my PC (Windows explorer) to browse the root of the phone?
Or, can I find it somewhere in the original .tar file containing the flash update for the phone?
(running rooted 2.1 DD10, FWIW).
Samsung Captivate :: Lock Icon On Camera Screen?
Aug 26, 2010My wife and I have had our captivates for just over a month and have loved the device despite the few minor issues that we've experienced with them. I check the boards daily to see all the latest, but didn't see anything on one issue that i am experiencing.
When using the camera to take pictures of my infant son, if i try to take a picture, then another and sometimes a third (infants are hard to keep still for a picture) without closing the camera application, a few times i haven't been able to press the take picture button and have noticed a "lock" icon on the camera screen, then can not exit the camera app at all and need to power off the phone, then bring it back up. Does anyone know what causes this and if it's something that i am doing unknowingly when bobbling the phone trying to positing him for the picture?

Seems that I had the phone on in my pocket and the camera Icon got oddly stuck partially visible off the bottom of the screen from an inadvertent pocket long press. Then the camera icon went away altogether.
Now when I try to add an icon in the spot where it was (lower right stock position) a black circle appears and swallows up whatever I put there. It's like a folder, but it is invisible until I try to place the camera icon or any other icon there. Acts like a black hole. I can add the camera Icon back to any home screen, just not to that far right spot on the favorites tray.

I tried going to the "manage applications" and clear defaults on the camera, but the camera is not an application that shows up. I understand that there probably won't be a fix for the Froyo camera issue until there's a new kernel so I'm fine with using Camera Magic as a stand by. My only issue is I'm a big Gowalla user and I've just recently been able to upload photos using my Eris, there's been a known problem with it for a few months now. What I want to know is how do I make Camera Magic my default camera for all camera related actions? I see in the settings where I can set it as default and it is checked but when I pick Take Photo in Gowalla I only get the options of Camera (the stock not working camera) and Camera 360 (also not working). Anyone have any ideas?

I take a pic, and it goes into more than one folder. Is it ok to remove any of those folders? On SD card, there is also a .thumbnails, 100andro, and a camera folder.

I've used the code at itp.nyu.edu/~sve204/mobilemedia_spring10/androidCamera101.pdf to write an app to store an image captured through the camera onto SD card (there are various examples of this around). It works ok except that the image returned by the camera is not what's on the preview surface. Instead of getting the checkerboard image I expect, I get different versions of the android icon depending on which version of target I choose. If I render the image to an ImageView this is confirmed as it's the same as on the SD card.
