im trying to root my Gs3 i747!! My usb mini port got bad so i got it replaced and now it wont connect to computer! not even in download mode it doesnt even show the icon on notifications. I tried framaroot, Ezinox abuse, root Z4, thru terminal with motochopper method and nothing!! my gs3 is 6 months old but i lost warranty, My only chance to build a method for the i747 gs3

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have new firmware on PC for my Samsung phone, intended for flashing with Odin (i have PHONE, CSC and PIT files). My question here is, is it possible to root this firmware before flashing it. The case is, my phone is now rooted and I don't want to loose root access, but I would like to flash this new firmware, cause with this one i have occasional problems (force close of apps, freezes, loosing wifi connection, etc). I've searched every where but haven't found anything. Only Mobile Odin have such options, but my phone is not supported yet.

I tried to download a gaaps file and I think it was the wrong one because I ended up completely deleting my OS. The battery fell out and now I'm unable to get into recovery mode. I can get into odin mode, though.My computer doesn't recognize the device when I plug it in, either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMine is a froyo 2.2.1 device (ViewSonice VB730), I tried z4root, instant root, DPRoot, and many many many rooting apk but it is not working, some of them are FC or some of them are stucking in "attempting to apply root" I tried to use SuperOneClick but since I can't find a suitable driver for it, so when I use "adb devices", the list is empty.
I also checked out about some article about how to manually root a devices with PC, seems I have to copy the necessary file first to /data then run the exploit. Since I dont have the driver, I tried to do it with Terminal Emulator and tried to grand access right of /data but failed.

$ chmod 777/data
chmod: /data. Operation not permitted

View 7 Replies View RelatedI should have rooted a couple months ago as I now cannot get my Charge to recognize a USB connection with any computer. Computer recognizes something is trying to connect but computer gives me a USB Device Not Recognized message. It charges the phone when connected to the computer but doesn't ask me how I want to use the phone (as a mass storage device or media player) any more. To make a long story short, I have tried everything - different USB cables, different USB ports, different computers, USB debug on and off, Ask on Connection and Mass Storage settings on and off. Have even gone thru several master resets of the phone and still will not recognize a computer connection.
Would love to root and hold on to this thing for at least a little longer, so my last thought is to ask if it's possible to root this device without a computer connection. From what I've read through on some forum threads it's possible with some phones, just want to know if using some of the methodology its possible.
I have Novo 7 Elf ICS 4.0.3, adb is root, but when i try to SU in shell or use Root Check app on the device i got "permission denied", and all root application don't work (root explorer, etc ...).
Superuser is installed and running, but it seems that su doesn't launch Superuser at all. it just wait for 15 s and then "permission denied"

However for some reason when I try to do it now, I get an error message saying "Cannot copy item: This device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected." even though it shows up on my explorer. It was working fine like a day ago. I have rebooted my computer and everything, but it just won't work.

I've tried temp unroot with ota rootkeeper and tried to uninstall super user and reboot phone(it's galaxy note 2 lte, on stock roms, just root with framaroot, when temp unroot, in phone stats my device is "normal" and i can receive ota), but nothing the game tell me the same message. i've got same prob with other games of game evil, but when temp unroot they work.There is a way to play games and app that not allow root device on root device? with a temp unroot or something like this?

I've found a way to do a full backup on android via adb on an unrooted device, but is a bit tedious (currently in progress) and while doing it i've noticed that adb has root access:
Now this made me wonder if i can just install titanium backup from adb with root permissions as a system app (or something, not really sure if it's correct, but i hope you understand what i want) so i can backup my apps easier from there.
Also, as a side note, using root checker i see that busybox and su are installed but no SuperUser is found, what does this really mean?
