General :: GS3 - Playback Controls On Lock Screen Of Android Device?
Jun 20, 2012Currently I can have playback controls on the lock screen of my idevices, as you can see in the screenshot below. Pandora is one example on when I would use this. How can do this same thing on my android device? I currently have a Galaxy Tab 2 7" & I'll be getting the GS3 soon.

Jul 10, 2010Before I destroyed my EVO, I had an app that would allow me to set several volume controls (separate ones for incoming calls, notifications, media, etc), brightness, even the 4G, wifi, and more. It mostly used multiple sliders that went from left (quiet) to right (louder). I did a search here, but none of the returns rang a bell (pun intended). Can you suggest a few of them that meet this description? Maybe one of them is the one I was using. For those of you who are curious, I accidentally drove over my first EVO. Not pretty. I'm trying to set up the replacement just like I had the first one. This time, I'll do backups...

Aug 13, 2013Every time I flash a new ROM on my phone, whether it was my old Galaxy S2 or my current Galaxy S4, Google Play recognizes that it is the same device as before and installs all the apps I previously installed on the phone.
My android stick computer (Minix Neo X5) does not behave this way. Every time I flash a new ROM, regardless of whether it is an official ROM from the developer (Minix) or a custom ROM with CWM, Google Play does not recognize that it is the same device as before and I have to go through the arduous process of installing all previous apps.
Is there a file or folder that I could backup on my stick computer and restore after flashing that will let Google Play recognize it properly? build.prop?
HTC EVO 4G :: Squeaky Volume Controls
Jun 12, 2010They feel just a bit loose and not tight like the power button. On my phone they even squeak when the phone vibrates due to the haptic feedback. There is a little play in them and thats causing the squeaking. I guess BB wont exchange it right? My brothers volume button is nice and firm.

Nov 18, 2010An app or mod that will use the microphone to sense the amount of noise around you and adjust the notifications accordingly - that is to say when its quiet, next to my bed and I am sleeping I want it to be all quiet sounds - but when I am working and there is fan noises and other stuff that is louder then normal I want the notifications to be loud - but if I walk into the break room which is quiet I want it to be quiet again - or if I am listening to music in a room or car turn up the notifications so I can here them and back down when not. You know take a sound reading and turn up or down the volume of the notification that is happening at that given time.
Only problem being when its in your pocket it will always seem to be quieter then normal so they will be quiet also, so there would need to be something to listen to the sound and determine if its being muffled by a pocket or whatever and turn it up then - if playing a sound and analysing that sound it should be able to determine what environment the phone is in, like a pocket or bag that will make it quieter. I am not even sure if i am describing this properly but I know someone can probably figure it out, but it might have to be something the manufacturer does, like that phone that has 2 microphones to auto cancel out background noises like a bluetooth headset.

Jan 11, 2010I think this may be an odd question for some, but I'm hoping to find some sensible way to get finer volume control on my Hero. When I've got the earbuds in and media volume set to minimum it's really still a bit on the loud side when I'm at home, rather than in the noisy outdoors. Has anyone seen something that can do this? I expect it's easy as pie with a rooted device, but I haven't bothered with that just yet.

My old phones would 'remember' the volume level for the different devices used. Its very annoying to have one single volume setting. For example, I usually have the speaker phone volume all the way up, then when I answer a call, the earpiece volume is deafening. Same when I plug in my wired headset at home.

I know the problem with Sapphire has typically been that the volume rocker controls sometimes continually skip through songs when the button is pressed, but mine seems to only start the current song over. Anyone else have this problem? The lock screen controls work fine, but I'd like to get the volume rocker working correctly so I can keep my eyes on the road when driving.

Aug 16, 2013When i've tried to play pvp tournament on eternity warriors 2 a message tell me that i can't play cause my device is "jailbroken"(i think means rooted). I've tried temp unroot with ota rootkeeper and tried to uninstall super user and reboot phone(it's galaxy note 2 lte, on stock roms, just root with framaroot, when temp unroot, in phone stats my device is "normal" and i can receive ota), but nothing the game tell me the same message. i've got same prob with other games of game evil, but when temp unroot they work.There is a way to play games and app that not allow root device on root device? with a temp unroot or something like this?

Feb 2, 2014I have an UTOK 700Q tablet running android 4.2.2 and the manufacturer has made an update to the firmware that requires a full wipe but i want to backup some apps before that.
I've found a way to do a full backup on android via adb on an unrooted device, but is a bit tedious (currently in progress) and while doing it i've noticed that adb has root access:
Now this made me wonder if i can just install titanium backup from adb with root permissions as a system app (or something, not really sure if it's correct, but i hope you understand what i want) so i can backup my apps easier from there.
Also, as a side note, using root checker i see that busybox and su are installed but no SuperUser is found, what does this really mean?
