View 8 Replies View RelatedMine is a froyo 2.2.1 device (ViewSonice VB730), I tried z4root, instant root, DPRoot, and many many many rooting apk but it is not working, some of them are FC or some of them are stucking in "attempting to apply root" I tried to use SuperOneClick but since I can't find a suitable driver for it, so when I use "adb devices", the list is empty.
I also checked out about some article about how to manually root a devices with PC, seems I have to copy the necessary file first to /data then run the exploit. Since I dont have the driver, I tried to do it with Terminal Emulator and tried to grand access right of /data but failed.
cd /data/
$ ls
ls: can't open '.' : Permission denied
$ chmod 777/data
chmod: /data. Operation not permitted
What should I do

View 9 Replies View RelatedI should have rooted a couple months ago as I now cannot get my Charge to recognize a USB connection with any computer. Computer recognizes something is trying to connect but computer gives me a USB Device Not Recognized message. It charges the phone when connected to the computer but doesn't ask me how I want to use the phone (as a mass storage device or media player) any more. To make a long story short, I have tried everything - different USB cables, different USB ports, different computers, USB debug on and off, Ask on Connection and Mass Storage settings on and off. Have even gone thru several master resets of the phone and still will not recognize a computer connection.
Would love to root and hold on to this thing for at least a little longer, so my last thought is to ask if it's possible to root this device without a computer connection. From what I've read through on some forum threads it's possible with some phones, just want to know if using some of the methodology its possible.
I recently got a hisense sero 7 lite and I don't have access to a computer. I really want to root it so that I can have all of the cool root stuff, but I cant seem to find a way to do so. Ive already tried framaroot, z4root, and poot, but none of them will work.

I installed HTC sync manager on my computer, but when i try to connect with the phone it says some bull**** on the phone like "make sure you have installed the application on the computer and that it is open" I have installed it and it is open!!! View 3 Replies View Relatedi got an S3.. and my computer has xp pro. i had to restore my computer recently from a saved image of my system. before i restored my computer, i was able to connect my S3 to it via USB with no problem. but after i restored it, i'm unable to.
i downloaded and installed the MTP driver, which got my computer to recognize my phone before i restore it. but now its not working and i dont see it listed in Device Manager. whats weird is that when i connect my S3 to my computer, the phone doesnt give any notifications that the phone is connected to USB like it used to before. and it also doesnt give me the 2 options of connecting by either MTP or Camera. all it does is charge my phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an android phone (Moto Droid Mini XT1030, though i wouldn't think it should matter) and i want the pictures i take with it to automatically be sent to a folder on my PC everytime i am connected to a wifi network. Currently they automatically go to Google+ which is of debatable value. Sometimes Google products are fantastic and other times they seem to be missing such blatantly obvious features that it makes me crazy... but i digress.
I don't want to install any 3rd party apps if at all possible, especially on the PC. I already have G Drive installed on the PC and a drive folder would be sufficient (as opposed to a conventional folder on the PC) if that's easier to accomplish.
Wanted to know if there was a way to download my purchased apps to my computer and then send them to my phone over the USB connector.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to go with my S3 and now that I have more than one device floating around my house, I'm wondering if there is a better way to share files and data among them than to hook each to my computer separately and then transferring stuff around by USB. I'm looking into Kies, but in the past, I've never been able to get it to work correctly, so I'm not sure if this will work any better on this attempt. Am I on the right path, or is there something different / better than Kies that I could use to have all three devices available on the network for sharing?
I guess I should probably ask if what I want is even possible... I'd really like an always on type of networking where as long as the device is online, I can push data back and forth (ie if my tablet is at home sleeping, and there is a file I want to get from it, I can access it from my phone and vis versa). In addition to that, I'd like a similar connection to exist between my two mobile devices and my computer so I can transfer files back and forth with the computer without having to take up desk space by connecting the device with USB.
I used to be able to just plug the phone into the computer via USB and a drive letter would appear and I would be able to easily move files off the phone and to my computer.
Now when I plug the phone in Media Share pops up with numerous menus and sub menus. Best I've been able to figure out to do is copy one individual file at a time to some mystery folder somewhere on my network. Or using DLNA it opens up Windows Media Player on my computer which shows previews of the photos but no way to transfer the actual files.
I'm having an issue that I can't figure out...
I'm using HTC Email on my EVO and my Trash folder is showing completely empty on the phone, no matter what download options I set (xx messages, xx days, ALL). I know the Trash folder is not truly empty because my regular PC mail program shows over 9000 messages.
- my email is setup as an IMAP account through 1and1.com
- the Trash folder is the only one that is not showing any emails when it should be
- I have checked to make sure there's not an alternate Trash Emails, Garbage, Recycle Bin, etc folder that is being used for deleted emails on my email account
- this same behavior is being exhibited when I setup my email account on an HTC Hero

Any 'Tasker' like program I can use on my windows PC? I'd like to be able to have my computer recognize when my S3 connects to my router, and automatically do things, like start up Spotify. Seems like this would be pretty simple, but my searches have turned up nothing...

I just bought and IGO micro juice 2.1 amp. when connected make the phone think that is connected to a computer.I notice when that happen the phone charge super slow even with this charger rated at 2.1. if I run to apps at the same time its start discharging. MY 3 year old Igo charge alot faster even running a few apps at the same time.Is there any way that change that I feel that i waste my money with this charger if i canot make it charge like is a 2.1 amp.

I would like to copy my contacts (and some vids/pics) to my computer for editing purposes, reset the phone, and load the contacts back on.
I am running a CM11 Nightly on my jfltevzw. I am trying to update to a new nightly by dragging and dropping it onto my phone, the way I always do. However for some reason when I try to do it now, I get an error message saying "Cannot copy item: This device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected." even though it shows up on my explorer. It was working fine like a day ago. I have rebooted my computer and everything, but it just won't work.
