General :: Google Keyboard 2.0 Keeps Autocorrecting To Words In All CAPS
Nov 5, 2013So I downloaded the Google Keyboard 2.0 from AndroidPolice [URL] ..... and noticed a problem:
When I'm typing, and I mistype, instead of correcting to the most likely word like it did in the old blue version, now it autocorrects to whatever I mistyped but in all CAPS. So, if I'm typing "that" and instead I type "thay" it will autocorrect to "THAY." This is extremely obnoxious.

Aug 30, 2010At first my Hero was lagging a bit on turning caps off when texting so my first two letters would always be caps. but now i have to manually turn it off every time or the whole message will be in caps. it NEVER turns off automatically.I'm using the phone keypad setting BTW. when i turn it sideways the keypad doesn't have capitalization problems but sometimes it doesn't show what I'm typing and i have to get outta the keyboard to see it. besides those two problems my phone is fine. i can accept the not being able to see the message as I'm typing as lagging but the auto-caps has to be a setting right?

Jan 7, 2014I downloaded Ditto Note 3 for my note 2, and i flashed it. It didn't work so whatever. After reading on the thread a little longer, it said i needed to flash a kernel. So after flashing ditto note 3 and the kernel i rebooted my phone to see that it was stuck on the Note 2 logo. I thought it was all fine until i booted into recovery mode to find that cwm would make my phone restart. I have backups of cm11 and stock touchwiz, can i flash them with odin? Can I go into my storage and take them out?

Jun 4, 2009I'm writing a Greek IME, which also needs to translate hardware keypresses. I'm doing this by intercepting onKeyDown() in InputMethodService.
Is there some way to find out what the caps state is (as indicated by the plain/triangle/caret cursor in the UI for lowercase/single-caps/ all-caps, respectively), so I can accordingly output upper or lower case characters? I checked the PinyinIME code in GIT and it tries to track the hardware keyboard shift state by monitoring KEYCODE_SHIFT_LEFT and KEYCODE_SHIFT_RIGHT keypresses -- and it can get out of sync with the true state indicated by the cursor, which can be confusing.
So, the question is: 1. Do I also have to track hardware shift key-down events and duplicate the caps state logic, or is there a way to query the input connection what that state is? 2. If there is no way to query the caps state, then is there a way to reset it to lowercase (since I need to know what the initial caps state is when the IME starts).

May 19, 2014I flashed my Verizon Note 2 (SCH-I605) to the SOKP Rom from a Jedi X Rom (v13 I believe). After the flash, I noticed my network was not working. Eventually I found out that the device was registering as a GT-7105. Not sure what went wrong, as the rom was flashed with no errors. I also ensured that my recovery was on the appropriate version (TWRP 2.6.3.3 in this case) and I also did a factory reset. To try and rectify the issue I wiped the phone and tried various other roms. In every one of those cases I found that the phone was constantly roaming. I had checked my network mode and tried switching between Global and LTE/CDMA which did nothing. Being completely out of options, I just installed to a stock rom through Odin (VRAMC3 4.1.2) and let it update via Wifi to 4.3 and still nothing. (I am well aware of the Knox security feature and will address this in a moment)
Here are the different ways I tried to diagnose the issue after this that led nowhere:
1. Made contact with a Tier-2 specialist from Verizon that tried various diagnostic methods and found that my phone was simply not registering on the Verizon network, or ANY other network for that matter.
2. I went to a Verizon store and got my SIM card replaced.
3. I even went to a repair shop to see if the phone possibly had a faulty connection.
I have already verified that the IMEI is correct based on the sticker behind the battery. The PRL is on 15310. The very last thing I tried was entering "getprop" inside a terminal. I'm taking a guess here, but I noticed my ril.serialnumber was all 0s. If I need to root my phone again to try something, I am more than willing to. My phone is out of warranty and not insured, I'm not really concerned about the Knox warranty trigger unless it will render my phone completely unusable.
General :: SD Card Freezes Phone / Stuck When Trying To Back It Up
May 14, 2013Just this night I've been using my sdcard in a normal way, browsing internet, downloading files when suddenly my phone couldn't boot after flashing bootanimation (zip made by trusted developer so that's not the problem). Now when I connect my SD Card to the phone it will either say "preparing sdcard" forever or just simply freeze phone after few seconds. I tryed to connect it via working adapter with my PC to back it up... After copying few files sdcards unmounts from the reader... I've tryed on XP and it shows some command errors while trying to copy files in a regular way. I was ONCE able to flash few zips via recovery in order to make my phone boot up again it worked. Now I'm scanning my SD Card using Norton Internet security 2013 - Paid version - not cracked, and the sdcard seems to stay mounted to the PC. Unfortunately after trying to copy files from SD Card to PC it just freezes explorer.exe and unmounts itself...

PS. 2 I was using swap partition, maybe my sdcard went dead from constant reads and writes?
PS. 3 Using linux I managed to copy 81 MB... then any copying froze but ubuntu didn't...

Aug 9, 2012I was listening to music as I always do. I didn't realize it but the phone (Rezound) drained a bit faster than expected and died completely. So I went to to charge it, and left it overnight, off naturally, now when I power it on, its stuck on a boot loop.
It goes throught the startup animation, and once it gets to Sense, in the few seconds before the radios kick in and it finds the cell service, it reboots and starts all over again. Only way to get it to stop is pulling the battery out.
I started to do the hard reset, but when I got to the window for it, all I saw was Factory Reset (I guess they are the same) so I selected the option for reboot.
The light to charge does show its charging, and at one point, when I had it plugged in this morning, and managed to swipe the ring to get to my swipe lock screen, it was saying I was at 99%. then it goes all slow and then rebooted.
I used the factory wall charger, and its drained I think once or twice before, and I have done the FoxKat method of calibrating before this. Not sure if its a battery thing, since it will power up, or not.
I'm stock, non rooted, on GB.
I don't really want to do a factory reset as I'd like to have my messages saved. I did save them last week when I saw ICS was available, but i have some new since. I'm pretty sure my pictures and videos will be saved during the reset. I don't think that folder gets wiped. However I was going to try going to a VZW store to see about a new battery. The phone is new since June.

Apr 13, 2013I was following the directions of this thread trying to install notifications toggles to my phone. Used root explorer. However, l changed the permissions on the wrong file or folder, it seems, as the phone just displays the logo and reboots, caught in a loop.
What files and folders has to have which permissions? How can I change them if I can't boot my phone? I don't have any mod other than Root, as this was the first I was trying to use, as I have to have better access to the toggles.

May 10, 2010For the past week or so I've been having issues with the bottom left corner of my touch screen (in portrait). If I am typing a text I cant select the letter Z or the shift/caps key. I also have a hard time selecting shortcuts in that corner. I am running the 1st 2.1 leak if that makes any difference. Is anyone experiencing touchscreen issues that may have any solutions or should I get a replacement? Does anyone think the OTA might fix this? BTW, I've calibrated my phone several times to no avail. It also happens in landscape but it shifts to the bottom right corner of course!

I've done the process of a recovery and then allow the red triangle to come up, from there i know i should hold power + Up, and that should take me to a black screen with blue letters, and i should select something about "partition" but this black and blue screen, i remember seeing it as a thumbnail in a folder i deleted. I thought it was an ad photo saved onto my phone as spam (as the folder was named adSOMETHING) and so i deleted it and now, i feel i have have screwed myself over.
