General :: App To Select Images From Google And Set Them Up In Album?

I recently uploaded my entire photo collection (19.500 photos) to Picasa / Google Photos in an effort to make my life a bit easier. Last year I did the same with my docs, music and videos. The idea is to remove the need for a M$ PC in my home, instead accessing all my content from the cloud via my Android units. So far it has worked wonderfully, and I'm really happy I did it. Earlier I used to make a photo collection or two each year of selected photos using a PC-based PhotoBook creator (CeWe: Digital photos, CEWE PHOTO BOOKS, photo gifts - Welcome to the CEWE photoworld! // CEWE - simply beautiful photos), and getting a nice, paper album sent home to me. The question then is, is there a way (app or (android browser friendly) solution) that would allow me to select images from my Google-Picasa-Photo-Cloud-Storage, set them up in scrapbook/album fashion with annotations etc. and finally ordering a printed album like I did before?

I was just wondering if Android had built in code so that I could select multiple images in a gallery-view and then have those images exported as filenames in a string array(ex /sdcard/~f1.jpg, /sdcard/~f2.jpg,...).

I'm finding that the Albums and People apps don't make every Facebook contact's images available to view, displaying the message "The user has no albums to display". I can see their photos when I'm using FB in a web browser, though.

Google music is for some reason downloading album art to my xperia play's internal storage instead of sd card. As you can guess, it's eating up ~100mb of my 400mb internal storage and the music files are still downloading to the sd card. Is there a way to make Google Play Music download album art to the sd card?

I have the new single charts on my tab. It's an album. On my PC every track has a different cover. But in Play music on my Nexus 7 the cover of the first track is shown at all tracks.

i don't know if this is normal of not - when i use google play (downloaded from play store) and the album cover pic doesn't change. if it switch between artists (different "folder") it will change, but if i have 1 artist with like multiple albums it won't change album picture. and yes i'm sure the song has an album art attached refer to sig for my phone specs

On jelly bean when using Google now to search something, then tabbing over to "Images" after you find the image you want how do you save it? Normal Google search you just long press and save as, but nothing I'm doing is working.

Don't you find having to load that first page to use Google Play and install something really annoying?
Isn't there a way round this? It's very annoying when you've only got GPRS and you have to wait for that page to load to install a 20kb apk.
It would be great to be able to turn images on and off, or have another interface to Play installed sidebyside with images turned off. Or, firewall just that first page... use hosts file? iptables?
edit: Forgot to add that there is a kludge in a sense - use your browser with images turned off, login and click install, then wait for it to sync. But I'd rather not wait and it would be good to have an alternative interface...

why to add album artwork into the album file to have it show up on the Droid? I have added albums that all have the artwork in the ID3 tag but a few just wont show on the device so I'm wondering if there's another way to add it into the folder on the SD card that will have it show up in the media player?

New to Android and starting to work on file mgmt. I set up some subfolders on my SD card for pictures. I have been moving pictures from one folder to another, but I can only move one at a time. Is there a way to select multiple picture files and move them to another folder (like "Select All" with Windows)? This is the sequence I've been following: Use the Edit Icon in the Astro taskbar, select Move, then going to the directory folder I want to move them, and hit Paste. Moving one file at a time is taking for ever.

I have seen some pics from google images that i would like to use as wallpaper. Is it possible to save them and use them as wallpaper, as when i try to save them via the stock browser or Opera Mini say i cannot find a way of saving them.
Also if i find that the image does not fit the screen, is there a way of getting round this?

At one time I figured out how to do this, and successfully downloaded some lovely images from the browser on my X that I use as wallpaper. But I am having a senior moment and can't for the life of me make it work again!

I used to have an HTC Hero and have switched to Desire a few weeks ago.
On my Hero i had different sounds set up for my text messages and my e-mails. For some reason i just can't figure out how to do it on Desire and i really hope that you can have seperate sounds. Any help would be really appreciated. <THE MAIN ISSUE>
The second thing is that to save pictures off the internet i know that you longpress and get the options. However with google images not for some reason you can't do that
The alternatives i've found are to either do the usual longpress options on either the small thumbnail in google search, but that gives a rubbish little pic =/
OR
open the image and then follow link to original page it is from, then save from there.
But both of these are a bit of a faff. So although its not a big issue i'd like to know if there is a way to save from the individual pictures if you know what i mean.
Just another thing i've thought of... because i have an orange branded Desire my music player has a rubbish link to orange music world or something by the play, and skip track buttons...
any way to get rid?

I'm trying to implement a Select All menu item for a ListView in a ListViewActivity. The relevant parts of my ListViewActivity: public class MyListViewActivity extends ListActivity browsed around stackoverflow.com and the google; the above is something that should work. But it isn't. setSelection(i) appears to be the method I want to call on ListView but it's not working as advertised. What am I doing wrong? Is this even possible on Android in code?

I have a certain group of mp3 files on my device for which I wish to change the album art image. I used a program called "mp3tag" to edit and save each file (from my computer) with the new cover image embeded in the tag info.
However, when I play these tracks the original album art still displays on both my music players (stock player and Just Playlists). If I go back and mount the device as an external drive and view these files again with mp3tag, it still shows the corrected/updated image.
why the correct imbeded cover art will not display when I play the files on my phone?

When I launch Navigation, I'm given four methods of choosing a location: "Speak Destination", "Type Destination", "Go home", and "Map". Clicking on "Map" brings me to a map view (cool)... which doesn't actually let me select a destination (WTF). Is this bug present only in Jelly Bean? I can't believe it wouldn't have been caught earlier otherwise.
Oh, launching Maps and long-pressing on a point allows me to select it and set it as a destination for Navigation. Ironic that this functionality is missing from Navigation itself.
Is there a fix for this, or is Maps the only way to select a destination by clicking on a map?

I'm basically using the same method of loading bitmaps in OpenGL that the SpriteMethodTest example uses and have been unable to get rid of an annoying outline that appears around all of my images.
For example, If I were to load an image of a white circle on a white background, I would expect to see nothing. Instead, I would see my circle because its edge would be gray. In SpriteMethodTest, I replaced the background image with white and was able to see that the edges of the android images flying around also don't seem to be rendered correctly.
Does anyone know how to load images in OpenGL without having a thin outline appear around the images?

I recently moved a hundred or so photos off my phone but the thumbnails still show in the directory view of photo album. I can remove them one at a time, but it's tedious. I can't find a way to refresh it, and can't find the directory where the thumbnails are stored to wipe them out en masse .

Just purchased album washer from winamp (which grabs album art from grace note), I was wondering where the artwork goes and how can I remove it when desired?
I deleted the winamp database but the artwork is still there.
I have also used the stock HTC app to get album art (from gracenote again) and can't get rid of that artwork
why after getting the artwork it shows on other music apps but not others?
Do different apps look in different data bases?

I'm working to convert some background images to nine patch so they scale better on different phones.
The problem is that if I have the following resource structure: drawable-hdpi/background.png drawable-hdpi/button.png drawable-mdpi/background.png drawable-mdpi/button.png drawable-ldpi/background.png drawable-ldpi/button.png and then I drop a new drawable-hdpi/background.9.png file into the mix, it breaks button.png during the pre-compile. The error is "No resource found that matches the given name (at 'background' with value '@drawable/button').Simply removing that one nine patch file fixes the build. Should I be able to have some nine patch images and some normal ones, or to have nine patch only in hdpi but not mdpi or ldpi? This is Eclipse 3.5.1 with the latest ADT.

I've recently bought a Nexus 7, and am loving my first taste of android having been heavily into iOS devices previously. I want to change the thumbnail picture displayed in the gallery app (I'd call that the 'key photo' from using apple products in the past). It seems to default to the first images in a particular album, I've tried various taps and swipes and looking in the app and album settings but can't find anything.

I just switched from iPhone to Android and I uploaded all my iTunes files to Google play. However, there were several books that got transferred and now when I try to shuffle my music all I get is mostly book tracks . I don't want to just delete them, cause they took a while to upload. Is there a way to get them out of my music and into my books?
