Wifi is not working i Cant switch the Wifi on. I have a Note n7000 android 4.2.2 cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly.
Can't press the small wifi button on dock it will not recognize on the other hand i can press the Bluetooth without any problems and when i go to the settings the small _OFF_ button will not recognize me pressing it.

I seem to have a weird problem on my HTC Sensation. I have been noticing that when the phone switches from Wifi to 'H', the mobile data stops working. I can see the signal bars so no problems with making calls, text etc. I have tried putting phone into airplane more, resetting mobile data and a couple of apps that reset the mobile data stack. None of that has worked. The only way I have made it work is by restarting the phone - quite frustrating. The mobile data then starts working. It has only happened when 'H' is displayed as the mobile data.

I was wondering if there is a way I can have it automatically switch to the one with a better connection through an app or script of some sort or a way that I can at least make a shortcut on my launcher to do this?

I found that when my WiFi is on, when screen is off due to screen timeout, when I try to open screen again by pressing menu button or power button, nothing happened, I need to switch the mobile on again by pressing power button long press (not normal press to open as usual if you switched off manually)
someone told me because mobile is duos, may be you have only two gateway, when WiFi is one with access of data plan of two Sim cards, may be doing conflict, actually last week I switch data plan access between two Sims last week and I think this problem came with this action, I delete APN access points from one of two Sims but it didn't solve this problem.
I am searching for a app that will automatically switch my WiFi signal from one signal that is weak or getting weak to another signal that is stronger. Example I am at work and I will be connected to a hot spot on one side of the building, I go over to the other side of the building and the signal strength is weak and there is a new hot spot next to me that is extremely strong but the phone stays connected to the weak signal until I go and switch it manually to the new hot spot.

In Jan. I switched from Sprint to a different carrier and got a new phone with the new carrier which left me with my HTC Evo 4G and I've been trying to use the Wifi so I can use it at work or at home when I don't feel like using my laptop and whenever I try to turn my WiFi on it just turns on then off and tells me "Unable to scan for networks".
I've noticed that it says that my IP address is unknown and Bluetooth isn't working either. I did a factory reset on my phone and all that did was delete my Doctor Who background.
Sidenote: my husband was on my family plan and he had the same phone with the same service and his WiFi is working fine.
After rooting with DooMLoRD v4 tool my china A6380 Android 2.3, which has mt6516 416MHz and Android 2.2.1 instead, wifi stopped working.
Tried unroot and factory reset but no luck, still "Unable to scan for networks".

I have a problem with connecting to WiFi on android. I got 2 phones, one with Android 4.2.2 and the other with an older version, but none can't connect. I also tried with an iphone and had no problem.
Also, I tried connecting to other WiFi networks with the same phones, and they connected. So I think there might be a problem with my home network.
since i have got my my metro phone i have had issues connecting to my homes wifi and i havent been able to get it to work it came with an app metropcs easy wifi wich seemed to be the problem so i froze it and i still have problems connecting and staying connected to my wifi

I have compiled required kernel modules (cfg80211 and ath6kl_sdio), but I have encountered some problems during this proccess. I don't understand why on my android device (in /system/lib/modules/ath6kl) there are two modules: ath6kl_sdio.ko and cfg80211.ko (first one depends on the second one). But when I look at my sources, I see the following module dependencies for ath6kl: ath6kl_sdio -> ath6kl_core -> cfg80211. So there are 3 modules instead of 2. Anyway, after some modification (I merged ath6kl_core and ath6kl_sdio into one module) I managed to compile ath6kl.
I have replaced compiled modules in /system/lib/modules/ath6kl on my android device, then rebooted and I got the following error:

I am very desperate cause I want to modify this driver (to be able to calculate some network statistics) but I cannot load modules at all so I am stuck.
My HTC EVO 4G LTE is having a major problem. When connected to my home modem it will not connect to the internet at all. When I disconnect wifi in the settings the phone will crawl along at Sprint 3G speeds. Laptops, tvs, chromecast and Roku are all working properly from the same modem. I've reset the modem, restarted the phone numerous times, just updated the phone (was happening before and after the update) and still no luck. I've scoured the internet looking for answers but nothing so far.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having this problem?I'm not talking about portrait vs landscape for the home screen.When I'm using the web browser on Droid, it seems stuck in landscape mode and try as I may to move the phone around, I cannot get it to switch to portrait mode when using the web browser.With some other apps, such as email, it seems to switch between landscape and portrait when I rotate the Droid.And with yet some others, like Calendar, it seems to switch sometimes and other times NOT respond.But the browser is the one I'm finding most annoying.why won't it switch from landscape to portrait?Anyone else experiencing this glitch? I'm doing a research on Cellular-WiFi switch and finding any mechanism to handle cellular hand off.As far as i've found,an http request is routed through WiFi network if connected even gprs/cellular connection is present.
My queries are:
1)Does this switch happens automatically ? If yes,which part of framework or code does that?
2)Does the http request drop in such situation due to cellular hand off ? Is there any way to handle such hand off ?
3)Does gprs cellular connection reconnects automatically when WiFi gets disconnected ?
4)Which type of alerts or notifications normally user gets in such situations ?

I've installed almost every ROM available here on XDA for A500s but I couldn't use my Wifi. It keeps on searching for Wifi network and/or hangs. Play store, google+, gmail, maps, google now, nothing is working the only thing that i can do is navigate in the internet. The WiFi symbol in the status bar disappears and 3g starts working. When i disable and reenable wifi everything works fine again for 3 minutes. I already tried a static IP. Other devices (laptop) have no problems with the same network.
