Am using Xperia Neo V (2.3.4),stock Rom. Why these stock apps use data?
1. system.shell
2. system.root
3. keypad (i dont use google voice stuff by the way)
In a single month they use lotsa data running into MBs instead of mere KBs

I'm looking for an backup application which will allow me to backup my apps and system data on roms based on stock ICS and restore to JB and vice versa.
Titanium backup does the job but after restoring on a new rom I get a lot of fc's and none of the apps works. I cannot restore call log and text messages, accounts, etc.
There's a lot of backup apps, I know. But I would like to be sure that they work as they should. Any app which will do the job?
I rooted my phone for the first time yesterday. I have not yet flashed any ROM's, all I have done so far is remove some of the stock apps. I have lost my data connection a couple times today, usually a reboot will solve it, however it hasn't on one or two occasions. It seems to have started happening after changing my boot animation to something closer to the 1.5 boot animation. Is it possible that this new boot animation is causing my data connection problems.

I don't have the pro version, do I just go to the Backup/Restore menu and click the app and uninstall? Is that it? Also, some of the apps don't seem to show up in Titanium backup. Specifically, I wanted to uninstall Messenger, but I can't find it in the list. Another thing is I want to uninstall the Google Search so that the search capacitive button won't have that app pop up or any of the search app for that matter. Is it safe to uninstall Google Search?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted (using Kingo root) Memo Pad 8 (ME180A) and deleted many bloatwares. The problem is that I also deleted Gallery app which is connected to Camera. So I factory reset via both Settings->Backup and reset and Power+Volume up button. But the deleted apps weren't restored, still missing.
Unrooting and doing factory reset can fix this problem? Or should I download stock firmware or stock Gallery app? I couldn't find stock apps and firmware.

Step 1 : Locate the stock app that you want to delete
you can locate the app by search for the app using Root Explorer
For Example ( calculator2.apk )
Step 2 :
Open the Terminal emulator and type

# mount -o rw.remount /system [ ENTER ]
rm -r /system/app/FILE-NAME.apk ( For Example : calculator2.apk ) [ ENTER ]

How to make apps from market visible on the stock rom?
E.g: I flash-ed Cyanogenmod 7 nightly and it was show me a lot of apps which was no was in stock rom ( dead space apperance in cyanogenmod but in stock rom no)
I own a Droid Razr M (8 GB) and I am running a stock build(9.8.1Q-78-1), and yesterday I reset my phone to factory defaults because I filled up it's disk space, then, I re-rooted it, it worked fine, but now, today I am missing EVERY SINGLE stock app, I tried resetting it to factory defaults again, and it still was missing them all, I then used a device explorer, and my "system/app" folder is like completely empty, (DROID RAZR M Running JB 4.1.2 as stated in the title)
If it makes a difference, it is a Verizon, it was 100% stock still, I had not installed anything yet after I rooted it, and the root was 100% successful because I did it the same way I did before.
All I need is, Camera, Galary, and Calendar now.

I will upgrade my stock ICS 4.0.3 to JB when that is released to my Samsung S2. But the problem is that I have removed a lot of bloatware on my phone like Game Hub, Music Hub but also the stock-clock (and more) with Titanium Backup. But will that cause a conflict with Jelly Bean when JB is being installed? The system is missing files and apps, and then JB is installed on top of that. Sounds like a setup for problems to me. I am on android gingerbread 2.3.6 in samsung galaxy y duos (rooted).
When I setup my A100 (running the ICS OTA update), I didn't have an SD card installed. It created it's own "fake" sdcard which applications use.
Now that I've added a real external sdcard, I can't get the applications to use that for their data instead of the "fake" location.
I've copied everything from the "fake" location to the new sdcard.
I suspect the problem is that the new, real sd card is called "external_sd" and the old, "fake" location is called "sdcard".
Do I need to reinstall those applications?
I am NOT trying to move applications to the external SD card; I just wants apps that normally store data there to do so instead of in the "fake" location.
Also, I am not rooted.
I've noticed that even when I have 3g or 4g, certain apps never connect to the Internet. The apps I've noticed that have this problem are sound Hound, Google now search, spotify and words with friends. These apps will fail to connect to the Internet and say I have no signal, yet I can open Google Chrome and open a Web page no problem (even pages I don't visit that aren't stored in cache) or use the Chive app.
