View 1 RepliesNot exactly sure how to clear up more space except uninstalling apps? I don't really have that many apps.

I really need to free up some space for future downloads. Before I just go ahead and clear data for random apps there are a few I'm quite sceptical about doing this to in-case it deletes certain things that can take a while to get back to the way it was before, if at all.
*HTC SENSE 2.42MB I don't use sense I use LauncherPro and don't plan on going back to sense in the near future.
*Facebook 2.52MB
*Facebook for HTC Sense 9.08MB <- I don't use this, I only use the above Dloadable app from the market.
*Google Maps 1.48MB
*Contract storage 9.52MB really? HOW? if i was to remove all my contacts and save them to my sim instead would this sort out the issue? I've noticed over time that certain contacts I have like 10 duplicates for, I think this is because I had difficulty getting facebook profile pics as contact pics. Is there away for me to go through every contact and delete these unneeded, useless contacts?
Are the main ones id like to find out about.
The following few apps I'm guessing if I clear this data it will remove certain settings from my phone but I would still like some info on this if possible.
*Settings 14.74MB
*Astro File Manager 96.00KB Manage space? what will that do?
*FolderOrganizer 1.11MB im guessing that will remove folders & icons if i was to clear this data?
Can I uninstall the stock fm radio on my phone using titanium back up pro without any problems? I also would like to know if I can do the same for Samsung apps, although probably not.
I just want to know if the phone will screw up. I already got rid of the MTV app and nothing bad happened from what I can tell.
What exactly does HTC Sense Clear Data actually clear? That may be a solution to reverting back to 5 homescreen pages instead of 7 without having to do a factory reset. Just curious as to what I am going to mess up? Will i just have to personalize the homescreen again, put widgets up, reconnect to fb, twitter, myfaves, etc. It's not going remove any 3rd party apps, just make me create new widgets, etc..?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola XT626 (IronRock) its a dual sim (Iden/gsm-3g) with android 2.3.6.At first time, both SIMs, nextel and the other carrier, if putted from the beginning there is no problem. But when trying to change the SIM, to use an other phone number or upgrading the SIM model. It forces to erase private data.Message says: "A new SIM card is being used. All private data must be cleared before you can continue"If no option its selected it erases it, hate to do a backup to just change the SIM or imposible to change the SIM on the fly.Its Rooted, so looking forward to edit any file and line in the db files to fix this problem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got the new HTC Incredible. Awesome phone and this forum has already been a huge help, so I figured I'd join and ask my first question. The phone of course came with some apps already installed. I went to uninstall them, but it doesn't show up. Is there a way to do it with out getting all into moving files and all that stuff? I basically want to get rid of Friend Stream and the Desk Clock (since the other app, Clock, has the desk clock and is the same thing, just a different default setting when you open it).I'd like to maybe ditch the GMail app too, because the Mail app is set up to my gmail and does everything I want it to do.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Desire no for almost 2 months, and like most I have tried installing and uninstalling many apps, to see what I like.Due to doing a factory reset on my phone yesterday I have layered back all the apps I was using and have noticed that I have used considerably less memory than before, making me very suspicious of the uninstall method used within the market place.Does it leave behind pieces of the app, and if so what's the cleanest method of uninstalling apps.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed some apps hosted on mediafire (Gallery3D, Voice Search, etc). I was following links from a well known page recommending tips and improvements to an HTC Desire. How do you uninstall stuff like that? Normally you have to go via the market, but in this case I can't.Having read the thread on unsafe apps, I'm worried I've got these things from an untrusted source.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed an app that's 222kb and it took up 3megs. Uninstalled it and i got 1 back. What the hell is the deal with that? No wonder the internal memory with android 2.1 clogs up quickly.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI use CyanogenMod 9 nightlies for Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100. I wonder if there is flashable zip or something, that adds "Clear All" button in Recent Apps multitasking screen, much like in Galaxy S III, that swipes out all apps from Recent Apps and closes them. Is there something like this, installable or flashable?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am use CSipSimple for my VoIP calling and unfortunately, every time I do a Memory Clear (under the RAM tab), it kills nearly all of my programs including CSipSimple. I know that 2 apps that this action definitely doesn't close is my AVAST! mobile security and my Ultimate Rotation Control. I'd like to be able to make CSipSimple be immune to such "clears" as those two apps but I do not know how to go about it.
At the moment, I always have to reopen it after I clear and sometimes it takes a bit for it to reconnect.
So there are a bunch of apps that I have no desire to see on a regular basis. This is my first android phone (coming from a BB) and I could usually remove apps from the listing of core apps in the desktop software, but haven't learned how to do this with the Android OS. The specific apps I'm talking about are the ones that came on the phone like Twitter, Flickr, and Peep.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I check my apps to update them, all of them say "installed" (aka up to date). For some programs, though, they notify me upon opening them that there is a new version available. How do I update my apps without uninstalling and reinstalling?
View 9 Replies View RelatedPerhaps there is a thread already about this but I discovered today that if you long press on an app and then drag it down to the trash can and then hold it on the trash can for a few seconds a text pops up telling you to let go to uninstall.I have uninstaller, but this is a really handy quick way to uninstall a single app. Hope it helps. This applies only to Launcher Pro, apparently it does not work with stock as stated by the below posters. Sorry about the confusion.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android and just got a Hero a couple weeks ago so I'm searching all the forums (and other Android sites) for useful tips. So far, I'm impressed with the Android OS, the Hero and even like HTC's Sense UI. There are some apps included with the phone that I don't want/need (ex: Sprint TV, Nascar, HTC Widgets, etc.) I'd like to uninstall them but based on what I've read in some posts some apps can't or shouldn't be uninstalled is that correct? If so, which apps? Do I need an uninstaller or does "managing applications" work just as well?I've seen many posts advising the best way to get clean-up your phone (get rid of the bundled bloat, etc.) is to "root" your phone but doesn't that process erase/over-write the HTC-customized version with the "plain vanilla" Android OS? If I root my Hero, won't I lose access to the Sense UI components that I wanted to keep?

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust switched from a blackberry for the past 3 years to the eris. Loving the phone loving android its amazing compared to my storm1. Just a couple basic questions to ask real quick.
1. App memory. On my blackberry I got into the habit of constantly checking my app memory. I have about 12 apps installed and jump around 30-55 available memory. Should I be worried about my app memory and keep freeing it up?
2. How many apps do you all have installed I see tons of apps I want but I tend to uninstall them because of app memory.
Just wondered, it seems that sometimes when you download an app to try and then you remove it, does this completely remove all the files from the internal memory?, im sure i have done this before and it seems i loose a small piece of memory after uninstalling Just wondered if there was a certain uninstaller that completley removes all files & folders?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi uninstalled an app from ther htc desire and noticed they dont get the full memory back. some apps i get it all back but i noticed with swype unistalling i didnt get full memory back and copilot possibly a few others so it must be leaving leftovers of the app in my memory taking up valuable space.is ther a way to find and delete left over files from installs on the htc?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI did a quick forum/google search and could not find much info, but I was wondering if constantly installing and uninstalling apps had any negative effect on the phone (such as leaving random registry things, data, etc. behind).Perhaps a Linux guy can shed more light on this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI synced up with my computer after uninstalling unused apps and clearing the browser cache and a few others, just general clean up to keep the phone running smooth. After roaming around my sd card, I came across this. A total of 84 cache files totaling 3.24mb. What is this from and is it ok to delete them? I'm assuming it is since it is just cache, which you can delete any of theme xcept for google nav (force close issues).
View 2 Replies View RelatedSeems fairly straight forward Settings > Apps > Uninstall. But is there any reason, or a good idea to boot into recovery mode and wipe cache?
