I am doing my first steps on Android today... I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace and I loaded it up with so many apps that I have a notification that tell me there is low space in application storage. I tried to switch apps to the SD card by the "manage application" menu. All apps on the phone show me a disabled button "Move to SD Card".
How can I enable that button ?

View 3 Replies View Relatedalright, I have already rooted my HTC Desire and now i want to switch from an 8-gb sd card to a 16-gb one. I tried whatever way i could think of, but it just won't work. Does anyone know how to go about doing that?One way i think it would work is to unroot my phone and then re-root it with the new sd card, but i just don't know what version of rom to download in order to unroot the phone.I'd rather do it without going through unrooting process, but if that's then only way i could get my new sd card to work, it's ok.

I'm rooted, will changing sd cards do anything to that?Also, aside from maybe the root files there really isnt much else on my sd card so I'm not really worried about losing anyhting.. What do I need to do to switch over?Is clockwork recovery on my sd card? View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just upgrading from a blackberry pearl to the HTC Eris. The Eris came equipped with an 8GB SD card. When i had my blackberry I was using a 2GB SD card. So i took out the 8GB out of the Eris and put in the 2GB to save pics (That kinna stuff.) I didn't take it out and switch for my 8GB. I still have in the 2GB and I want to switch to the 8GB . My Question is, if I switch what will happen to my apps, my contacts, etc. Will i still be able to transfer them to my 8GB?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Android D2-912 pad which I use mostly for reading. All my books are stored in the internal storage of the tablet ( 1.2 GB) which is almost full. For this reason , I needed additional space and bought a 16 GB class 10 Lexar Micro Card .The card works pretty well from my PC. The problem is that when the external SD card is in the slot of the D2, neither the internal storage content of the D2 pad nor the SD card show in My Computer, only the empty D2 icon, ,so that I cannot transfer the files. Onjly if I remove the SD card from the slot, then the full internal storage contents of the D2 pops up again, which doesn't work because for the file transfer I need both. .The mounted SD card and its contents, though, show nicely in the Settings/Storage tab of my D2, but even so I cannot do any file transfer .This inability to see the SD card also affects my attempts to expand the RAM with the Roehsoft Swap Ram expander, It works well, except that it does not see the SD card and takes the space for the virtual expansion from the internal storage, which is practically full, so that the expansion is minimal. .

Why do I use Windows Mobile ? Simple, I'm dependent on Outlook on my laptop. This is my work tool, and I cannot go without my email, tasks, calendar and contacts. No compromise. And I use pop3 with my own domain.
Now, the only thing that prevents me to switch over to Android is ActiveSync, or an equivalent, that would sync emails AND calendar AND contacts AND tasks.
As far as I know, that's not possible. I found various apps to sync calendar/contacts but NOT emails. Or vice versa.
Am I correct in this statement ?
And no, I do NOT want to sync over the cloud using Gmail (let alone an Exchange server which I can't afford). I want to keep it as it is : pop3 to and from Outlook, then sync via USB/Bluetooth.
If there's an app out there, bring it on !!!

I just bought an OTG cable with micro usb male. I tried looking for one with a galaxy tab male connector so that I could use it on my tab 2, but unfortunately I couldn't find one. So I decided to buy the otg cable AND a data cable of the tab. So I'm wondering what would happen if i cut them both open then connect them to each other. Would it work? They both ARE for data transfer anyways.

I have Star S7589 and have installed the following rom (www.needrom.com/mobile/star-s7589-galaxy3/). However while the rom is awesome it seems that the menu is missing a key feature the ability to swtich the 3g sim vs 2g sim. Which is a key feature for any of these dual sim china mobiles.
I have tried everything in my power, changing the settings apk. Uncompiling and modifying the settings xml (I'm no dev/expert and working with limited knowledge) but to no avail.

I have a Plantronics headset, and a Sony car stereo (w/ BT). When I'm in the car, I prefer to use Bluetooth over the stereo, so I'm looking for a quicker way to swap between the two devices without having to go into settings.
Auto-switching would be preferable, but a widget that can just bring up all device so I can select which one I'd rather use, would work, too.
Until recently, I had a BB Storm2. When I would stream Pandora (via the aux port and headphone jack) while driving and received a call, Pandora would pause and the call would be routed to my Jawbone BT.
Now I have an S3 (and loving it!) with ICS. Although Pandora will pause, the audio seems to remain routed through the aux headset and not to the BT headset.
I can hear the call ring notification via the BT headset, but once the call is answered, there is no apparent BT functionality.
I've tried to search through the settings for phone, BlueTooth and Pandora and have found nothing that seems to work.
In January, I acquired a Nexus 7, and in July, I met my boyfriend. Yesterday, I suggested that we put a user account for him on the tablet, so that he could have quicker access to his own email, writing and so forth. This we accordingly did, and he has been having great fun installing apps for chess and ukelele playing, as well as working on his writing. However, this means that the lock screen is back. The lock screen irritates the b*ggery out of me, and I disabled it as fast as I could when I originally bought the tablet. The way you are meant to switch accounts, however, involves bringing up the lock screen every time, and it also means the lock screen appears whenever the tablet is wakened from sleep. I tried disabling the lock screen, but then we couldn't switch user accounts.
So far, the best solution I've found is to have a desktop widget for the No Lock app, so that I can have the lock screen disabled during the day, when I'm the only one using the tablet, and then put it back on when my boyfriend is around and we're both using the tablet. This will probably be fairly manageable, and I realise that I'm whingeing about a few seconds of screen-swiping here and there, but what would be really lovely would be if we could just have a widget we could press on our home screens that allowed us to switch user accounts, without all this faffing around with lock screens. I've been hunting through Google Play apps, and so far all I've encountered is one which sounds thoroughly dodgy and may not even do what I want.

I seem to have a weird problem on my HTC Sensation. I have been noticing that when the phone switches from Wifi to 'H', the mobile data stops working. I can see the signal bars so no problems with making calls, text etc. I have tried putting phone into airplane more, resetting mobile data and a couple of apps that reset the mobile data stack. None of that has worked. The only way I have made it work is by restarting the phone - quite frustrating. The mobile data then starts working. It has only happened when 'H' is displayed as the mobile data.
