Sorry to already be asking stupid new guy questions, but I just made the switch to Android and my new Droid 2 apparently isn't reading my SD card. Any ideas as to why this may be and what I can do to fix it? Keep in mind I'm not overly tech savvy (but not incompetent).

I'm rooted, will changing sd cards do anything to that?Also, aside from maybe the root files there really isnt much else on my sd card so I'm not really worried about losing anyhting.. I'd just rather hve 64 gb then the 16 in there now!

It's very limited over there (short supply probably means less devs.) and the ROMs are far less polished with even less theming options. I'm lucky I can still troll around here because my girl has the D1 and it gives me an excuse to keep her phone updated until more things come around for the Dinc.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm loving my new Note 2, and hating my formerly loved Macbook Pro. The latest in a series of fails is this: I have a 64gb sandisk sdhc card that was working in the Note just perfectly, but the macbook could not read it via its card reader (or any other way, really). Like a fool, I tried reformatting it in the mac's disk utility. That failed halfway through, and the card will no longer mount in my Note 2. Thus, I can't format it there, at least in any way I know of.
How I might be able to reformat the card, it would be lovely. I heard about a windows app called bootlce, but I don't have bootcamp set up right now (and my only windows copy is xp, not sure if that would see the card either).
I Bought a Samsung Galaxy the other day, and ive allready upgraded it to 1.6, from the release i found on the forums... My Memory card slot hasnt been reading sense i bought it, and i thought and upgrade would fix it... Anyone know why the external card wont detect?

I want to access camera pictures and camera pictures only. I could not find a specification of how the default camera application stores pictures...
1) Is /sdcard/DCIM a standard of any kind? On the Android devices I've used, it looks like the default camera app always writes to this location. Are there devices where pictures are written to a different location? 2) Is it specified that camera JPEGs will always be accessible on the file system? (And not in some private database for example?)
I'm hoping that if the above two are true, then I can simplify my code by simply reading the jpeg's in /sdcard/dcim. Or do I have to use MediaStore.Images.Media.query() for reliable access to camera images?

so i had been having problems with the whole random rebooting issue that some people on the droid x have been having, so i called tech support and i had tried everything that they had suggested except the factory data reset. i was hesitant to do that because it just seems like doing something like that would never let me get my phone to working the way that it used to work. you know the way i had everything set up. well after the phone kept rebooting on its own i decided i would give it a shot. sure enough the phone just doesnt seem to be running the same as it did before. the phone seems to lag more, i am having to touch icons several times at times to make them work. task killer isnt running the way that it should. it just seems like the factory data reset made everything on the phone work just a little bit worse. has anyone else had this experience?

When I deleted my external SD card partition, it wouldn't let me re-partition it. Now my computer won't even recognize my phone. When I go into settings->SD card and phone storage, both the internal and external SD card show "Unavailable" under the space heading. The unmount and format options are greyed out as well. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted HTC Hero (Sprint), Fresh, Gumbo Kernel that runs wonderfully. Lateley however, my phone is not reading my sd card. Im unaware of the class, but it is an 8gb scan disk minisd. It has worked for over a year. I try to copy my information onto my desktop to reformat the sd, but it stops in the middle of the transfer. I have tried to find info on this issue, and I apologize if a thread has already been started.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the Droid since the day it was released and have had absolutely no problems with the battery up till now. I can still make it through a full day without having to charge it. But now it seems like something funny is going on. About a week or two back i had charged my phone over night(like i always do) a few hours later it alerted me that the battery was low and that i should plug it in(hadnt used my phone at all yet that day). I thought that was a little strange so i rebooted it, once it restarted i checked my battery and it was at 90%, i figured the phone just read the battery wrong for some reason and moved on. But today my phone randomly shut off and i had to do a battery pull to get it to come back on, i have read that the battery pull issue has happened to a few people so far so i didnt think much of it, but this combined with the false low battery reading makes me wonder if there is something wrong with my phone. Has anyone else had a false battery reading and if so did you need to replace you Droid?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI searched the Incredible forums and sub forums and could not find an answer to this question, though I am sure it has been asked: If I want to go from my stock 2 GB card to a new card, and I want to preserve data AND have all apps still be able to read whatever data they were reading off the card, do I just transfer the files from one card to the other? I bet the only thing I need to make sure of is that new card is formatted with the same file system as the original card, right? I know copying data from one card to the other will preserve data, but I want to make sure I have no problems with apps, either, after inserting the newer card.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi was avaible to swap pictures, music and everything between the 2...but now i took out my memory card from my old hd2 and put it in(hence its 16gb, and i didnt even use my hd2 for a day it was given to me so it has nothing crazy on it) and now when i plug in my vibrant, it dosent read the card for some reason, removable drive pops up, but it wont access it, i also saw this happen with someone elses vibrant, any advice?...and oh yea, i do press mount on the usb thing on the vibrant screen.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I just upgrading from a blackberry pearl to the HTC Eris. The Eris came equipped with an 8GB SD card. When i had my blackberry I was using a 2GB SD card. So i took out the 8GB out of the Eris and put in the 2GB to save pics (That kinna stuff.) I didn't take it out and switch for my 8GB. I still have in the 2GB and I want to switch to the 8GB . My Question is, if I switch what will happen to my apps, my contacts, etc. Will i still be able to transfer them to my 8GB?

Does anyone know how to go about doing that?One way i think it would work is to unroot my phone and then re-root it with the new sd card, but i just don't know what version of rom to download in order to unroot the phone.I'd rather do it without going through unrooting process, but if that's then only way i could get my new sd card to work, it's ok.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace and I loaded it up with so many apps that I have a notification that tell me there is low space in application storage. I tried to switch apps to the SD card by the "manage application" menu. All apps on the phone show me a disabled button "Move to SD Card".
How can I enable that button ?

What do I need to do to switch over?Is clockwork recovery on my sd card? I am concerned if I switch to a freshly partitioned card i'll lose the ability to flash.I don't care about personal data lost because I don't have any. This phone is barely a few days old. I don't mind starting fresh as I'm still experimenting with roms and such.
