I have a new card that I want to switch my old card to the new one in the market. Any idea how to do it.
alright, I have already rooted my HTC Desire and now i want to switch from an 8-gb sd card to a 16-gb one. I tried whatever way i could think of, but it just won't work. Does anyone know how to go about doing that? One way i think it would work is to unroot my phone and then re-root it with the new sd card, but i just don't know what version of rom to download in order to unroot the phone.I'd rather do it without going through unrooting process, but if that's then only way i could get my new sd card to work, it's ok.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am doing my first steps on Android today... I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace and I loaded it up with so many apps that I have a notification that tell me there is low space in application storage. I tried to switch apps to the SD card by the "manage application" menu. All apps on the phone show me a disabled button "Move to SD Card".
How can I enable that button ?
Will the droid be able to handle the 64gb sd card? I found one I have laying around and thought I might put it in there. Now, before I do I was wondering.. I'm rooted, will changing sd cards do anything to that? Also, aside from maybe the root files there really isnt much else on my sd card so I'm not really worried about losing anyhting.. I'd just rather hve 64 gb then the 16 in there now!

What do I need to do to switch over?Is clockwork recovery on my sd card? I am concerned if I switch to a freshly partitioned card i'll lose the ability to flash.I don't care about personal data lost because I don't have any. This phone is barely a few days old. I don't mind starting fresh as I'm still experimenting with roms and such.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just upgrading from a blackberry pearl to the HTC Eris. The Eris came equipped with an 8GB SD card. When i had my blackberry I was using a 2GB SD card. So i took out the 8GB out of the Eris and put in the 2GB to save pics (That kinna stuff.) I didn't take it out and switch for my 8GB. I still have in the 2GB and I want to switch to the 8GB . My Question is, if I switch what will happen to my apps, my contacts, etc. Will i still be able to transfer them to my 8GB?

View 4 Replies View Relatedhey folks. I started out with a nice nippy class6 8GB card thinking speed was better than space and using Spotify for tunes I'd not have many mp3 locally. Now I need more space and want to switch to a 16GB card.My question: can I just copy everything off of my 8GB onto my new 16GB when it arrives? be great not having to download 5GB of Spotify cache all over again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Android D2-912 pad which I use mostly for reading. All my books are stored in the internal storage of the tablet ( 1.2 GB) which is almost full. For this reason , I needed additional space and bought a 16 GB class 10 Lexar Micro Card .The card works pretty well from my PC. The problem is that when the external SD card is in the slot of the D2, neither the internal storage content of the D2 pad nor the SD card show in My Computer, only the empty D2 icon, ,so that I cannot transfer the files. Onjly if I remove the SD card from the slot, then the full internal storage contents of the D2 pops up again, which doesn't work because for the file transfer I need both. .The mounted SD card and its contents, though, show nicely in the Settings/Storage tab of my D2, but even so I cannot do any file transfer .This inability to see the SD card also affects my attempts to expand the RAM with the Roehsoft Swap Ram expander, It works well, except that it does not see the SD card and takes the space for the virtual expansion from the internal storage, which is practically full, so that the expansion is minimal. .

I currently use a Nokia E71 and quite like a lot of the features I have setup on it, although in the next few months my contract is up and am interested in replacing this device with a htc desire or similar, since I think Nokia haven't delivered enough with the E72. Although, before I do I'd like to understand a bit more about what the Android platform (2.1)

View 3 Replies View RelatedOk So I am running 2.2 (RUU) and I was wondering
1. Should I switch S to ON - is there some issue (besides that VZW may notice on a return) to NOT keep S-off? Does it create a security hole?
2. If I am S-on can I still do Nandroid backups and restores/flash new ROMS (I think no)
I have been using the HTC Hero for sprint for about three weeks. Overall it has worked fine for me. Only problems I've had is is difficulty with using the keypad at times (wrong key getting pressed)and occasional phone lagging. all the great reviews I've been reading I have been considering upgrading to the EVO. My son got the EVO two weeks ago and has been having a nightmare with the battery draining very quickly and the phone shutting itself off at times. He just exchanged his EVO for a new one yesterday. I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up for headaches making the move to an EVO. This is further complicated that because I am at the end of my 30 day trial period I would not have time to switch back if the EVO didn't turn out to be a good thing. All feedback greatly appreciated.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed the newest MoDaCo Custom Rom 3.1 on my Hero. Yesterday, I started wifi tether to get online. It worked very well for about five hours, but then. Hero crashed. it was switched off and since then I cannot do anything with the Hero not even switch it on I tried to take off the battery, SIM card and SD card, but the problem is still present. Could somebody tell me what to do to get my Hero alive again?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI think I know the answer to this, but, I am returning my Incredible for a EVO..When I do this, and download AppBrain, and have it sync my apps, will everything I had downloaded/purchased for the Incredible show up and be available for me to download/install on my EVO?
I assume 2.1 is 2.1, and I should be able to get all the "offiicial" stuff; things like Swype, and others may take awhile to show up for the EVO.
I have a HTC HD2 which is running fine, but looking at Android, I reckon my phone could be even better.
Why do I use Windows Mobile ? Simple, I'm dependent on Outlook on my laptop. This is my work tool, and I cannot go without my email, tasks, calendar and contacts. No compromise. And I use pop3 with my own domain.
Now, the only thing that prevents me to switch over to Android is ActiveSync, or an equivalent, that would sync emails AND calendar AND contacts AND tasks.
As far as I know, that's not possible. I found various apps to sync calendar/contacts but NOT emails. Or vice versa.
Am I correct in this statement ?
And no, I do NOT want to sync over the cloud using Gmail (let alone an Exchange server which I can't afford). I want to keep it as it is : pop3 to and from Outlook, then sync via USB/Bluetooth.
If there's an app out there, bring it on !!!
today I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNo can someone tell me how to partition my sd card so that I can run apps right from the card rather then the phone memory?
View 2 Replies View Relatedone is clearly the folder for my actual sdcard (sdcard2) and the other (sdcard) seems to be where all my apps and downloads go. this creates an unreliability being that the phones sdcard folder isnt connected to my removable card and thus making backups useless.
