I am seeing 3.31Gb of space for pictures and videos under System Settings- Storage - Device Memory, but I thought I had changed the default location for pictures and videos. Where is it getting this number?

Basically I downloaded the app ES File Explorer and I cut everything on the internal storage and pasted it in to my SD card. Everything worked perfectly except now I can't view any of my photos in the gallery, it seems as if they all just disappeared! I noticed something during the switch over from the internal to the SD card that a message about DCIM came up. Now apparently that has to do with photos and I just skipped it. I went into my SD card folder after and it only shows the pictures that have been screenshot and those that have been posted on Instagram. None of my pictures that have actually been taken with my camera are in my sd card folder neither in my internal storage.
Does this mean they have been deleted because I pressed skip during the transfer?
The phone I am using is the Motorola Razr I XT890.
Background: I have a ZTE Awe with Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
I just recently mounted a 32GB SD card in the efforts to expand my storage capabilities and realized (after a little research) that this is mostly beneficial for storing media. After learning that, I figured I would start moving any permissible apps and pictures to the SD card to avoid all the 'insufficient storage' and 'low memory' warnings.
In addition, I changed my 'Save Location' (under Storage Settings) from 'Phone' to 'SD Card.'
ISSUE: The issue that I have noticed is that after moving all my pictures to my SD card, the Internal Storage 'Pictures, videos' segment says that it contained about 34MB. I thought this was odd as I moved all my pictures to the SD card and deleted the albums stored on the phone. So, as a test, I took another picture. Sure enough, now it contains about 35MB and remains the same even after I deleted that new photo.
So the question is, why does the internal storage being consumed by pictures that were transferred or deleted? Based on my experiment, it will continue to consume space even though I am deleting the images.
Additional Question: I have read on some other forums that the camera app has a setting to determine the default storage location of where new pictures are stored. However, when I go to 'Storage Location' under the camera options, it just takes me to the 'Storage Settings' menu from the main 'Settings' menu and I can't do anything different other than see that my 'Save Location' is already 'SD Card' as opposed to 'Phone'.
How can I ensure that all future pictures, videos and media are by default saved to the SD card?
Is there any way you can hack into Android storage to retrieve pictures? My tablets touch screen went out, and the device is secured by a pattern lock security screen. I connect it to USB, with no success in accessing internal storage through window explorer, and no luck with adb either.

I have an LG G2 (D801) running Cloudystock ROM and yesterday my Amazon app stopped showing pictures. Then I noticed the Amazon App Store app wasn't showing any pictures or screenshots either. I tried clearing cache and data and uninstalling both apps, no difference. I also noticed this morning that even going to Amazon.com on Chrome on my phone won't load images there either. I attached a few screenshots to show what's going on. I should also note that before yesterday, both apps worked just fine on this same setup.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S II Plus and I recently updated the Dropbox app. After updating, the Gallery app is showing all the pictures I have in my Dropbox, this did not happen before the update. I had a clean Gallery with only the pictures in my phone. I checked the accounts in the settings, but I don't see anything in the Dropbox account settings.

I've just installed ATOMODS on my Samsung Galaxy ace plus and when i go into my settings app, everything is just sensitivity sliders!
I think it might be the 'Customized ICS Styled Settings' mod, how can I get rid of it (would re-flashing ATOMODS work, just deselecting that option?)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Incredible. It has 8GB of internal storage and I've installed an 8GB microSD card. When I plug the thing in via USB, I have two drives that appear on Windows. One shows total capacity of 6.59GB and the other is 7.39GB. I guess my question is: I think I understand that the 7.39GB one is the microSD card. It's getting full. It appears that everything gets stored there. My question is, why do I have a 6.59GB drive available that never seems to get used? Is the purpose to manually put MP3s and such on this instead of the microSD card? With 2.2 (SkyRaider ROM), can I move apps to this internal storage?

I wasn't sure what to tell him. I looked, and I noticed his pictures have a "share" option that you can send them to Picasso. Is that good? The videos however did not have this option. Should he simply connect to his PC with a USB cord and copy the files directly?

Unfortunately all the album art also shows up under "pictures". Is there anyway to tell the G1 to stop looking for pictures in my music folder?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy physical camera button won't take a picture. It does the ding noise for being focused or whatever and the square turns green, but it won't take the picture anymore. If I want to take one I have to use the auto focus on screen tap. The same goes for the camcorder function. I have no clue what's causing this as it always worked fine before. I have the leaked 2.3.15 Froyo with rub-ix focused Rom + nexTheme. To my knowledge the camera button always worked fine until I noticed today that it wasn't. (Now watch, this is probably some stupid obvious thing I've overlooked.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. Just wondered if anyone had any idea at all what could be causing this and how to fix it, or at least find out why it's happening.As I said, its literally just in the Messages app that it's happening - everywhere else contact pics show up just fine.
