Apr 22, 2010I upgraded to the 2.1 v2 leak and now in my gmail when I hit "show pictures" i get that blue box with ? in it.

HTC Droid Eris :: Emails Showing Up As Grey Pictures
Feb 23, 2010When i send an email with a pic that i have taken with the phone, the attachment they receive shows up as a gray box. Yall got any ideas on what causing this?

May 12, 2010I don't know if it's because of OTA, but when i loaded up an email in my gmail (via the app) the photos loaded just fine. They never did before, and i had stopped trying because of that. Then i did today out of curiosity and it worked. Was this something that happened with v3 and i just missed it?

May 25, 2010Anyone else have this problem? I take a photo and its not there and takes opening and closing the gallery a few times. Sometimes I have to take another photo and then they both show up. Is this a bug with 2.1 or is there a fix for this?

Dec 14, 2009Whenever I go into Gmail (I do not have push notification on, just check it every once in a while) it will say at the top "Inbox (2)", but then says "No Conversations" in the middle of the screen where it is supposed to list all the emails in my Inbox. I know that there are two in there because they are there whenever I check Gmail on my computer.I looked for an option in the Gmail settings in case it only shows unread mail, but can't find anything.If I navigate to a different label, it will show all the emails in them, just not the Inbox.It started out OK, but I just noticed it a day or so ago doing this.My father was messing around with my phone the other day, and I'm wondering if he did something?

Nov 14, 2009How do you get pictures imbedded in e-mails to show up? They are giving me the ? rather than the pic. It seems I can seem them went sent from other gmail users, but not regular e-mail senders.From what I read, this is the same with other Android phones, why wouldn't 2.0 fix this?

Jan 12, 2010My Droid was acting up a bit today. It was really laggy today so I did a battery pull, after which it was fine. Then tonight on the way home I got an email, read it, and the notification went away, but in my Gmail it still showed "Inbox (1)" but the email showed as read. I synced it twice, but it stayed the same way. When I got home tonight, I logged on to my email and it showed the email as unread. I just downloaded Twidroid Pro and Google Goggles, so I'm wondering which of these is the culprit.

Jun 10, 2010I was trying to call my brothers cell. I have called him before on my droid and texted him. However, I just noticed He is not in my contacts!
I goto my gmail account, I have 193 names there, including his, but on my phone I only have 183!
However, when I dialed his number, his name popped up!
Where are these contacts, and why aren't they syncing? If I do a search for his name on my phone, it does not show up either. This is a critical issue!
I went to my gmail account and 'touched' his name, changed his address from road to rd. Forced a sync, but still it doesn't show on my phone. I have my phone set to show 'all other contacts' , which is the group on my gmail account.

Jul 17, 2010Is there a way to get facebook profile pictures into your gmail contacts? The main reason why I want them is for texting in the google voice app looks very plain without personal images.
I tried just putting in my own images into my gmail contacts to see if they would show up in the google voice app and they still dont show up. My ideal situation would be to use the facebook pictures, but if I need to I will go the second route of putting individual images into my gmail contacts and sync them that way, but I can't get either to work

Nov 29, 2009Believe me when I say that I never thought in a million years it would be possible to have a smartphone with a worse mail app than the iphone. Then the Droid came. I mean come on! We can't save pictures, can't batch delete, hell we can't even click most links! Maybe I'm venting a little, but It's kind of embarassing when your a company's web apps work better than their natively installed apps that come pre-installed on a phone whose OS you developed!

Oct 6, 2010I am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.

Nov 11, 2008I just copied all my music folders onto a SD card and those folders contained album art which does show up when i play music on my G1.
Unfortunately all the album art also shows up under "pictures". Is there anyway to tell the G1 to stop looking for pictures in my music folder?
General :: Pictures Not Showing In Gallery?
Apr 24, 2013Basically I downloaded the app ES File Explorer and I cut everything on the internal storage and pasted it in to my SD card. Everything worked perfectly except now I can't view any of my photos in the gallery, it seems as if they all just disappeared! I noticed something during the switch over from the internal to the SD card that a message about DCIM came up. Now apparently that has to do with photos and I just skipped it. I went into my SD card folder after and it only shows the pictures that have been screenshot and those that have been posted on Instagram. None of my pictures that have actually been taken with my camera are in my sd card folder neither in my internal storage.
Does this mean they have been deleted because I pressed skip during the transfer?
The phone I am using is the Motorola Razr I XT890.

Apr 23, 2010Hope someone can help me out with this one.I can't seem to get Handcent to display contact pictures. it did show the ones with Facebook contacts, but I rebooted my Hero, and selected 'fix uid mismatches' which I read would fix this, and now it doesn't show any pictures.

Jul 29, 2010Since I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. Just wondered if anyone had any idea at all what could be causing this and how to fix it, or at least find out why it's happening.As I said, its literally just in the Messages app that it's happening - everywhere else contact pics show up just fine.

Jan 15, 2014I haven't seen anything about the privacy implication for me as the recipient of the picture.I do not have a Google+ account. I have sync turned off for contacts because I think that Google has proven themselves too untrustworthy to have that information.
The only way I can see that the pictures get into my contacts is that on each incoming call the phone app takes the phone number in the incoming caller ID and queries Google to see if a picture is available. In the process, this gives Google a complete list of everyone calling me, an unacceptable privacy violation as far as I'm concerned.
Is there a way to disable it so that my incoming calls are not leaked to Google?

May 26, 2014I have an LG G2 (D801) running Cloudystock ROM and yesterday my Amazon app stopped showing pictures. Then I noticed the Amazon App Store app wasn't showing any pictures or screenshots either. I tried clearing cache and data and uninstalling both apps, no difference. I also noticed this morning that even going to Amazon.com on Chrome on my phone won't load images there either. I attached a few screenshots to show what's going on. I should also note that before yesterday, both apps worked just fine on this same setup.

May 17, 2010Everything went fine, downloaded and installed in about a half hour. I was pleasantly surprised all of my contacts showed up, all my apps were still there just like I had it when I had 1.5. Oh, and texts and recent calls still being there was another plus.One thing doesn't seem to be working though.My albums are gone! Well, not really. They're still on the SD card with their respective pictures in them, in the albumthumbs folder. I can't see them on the phone, though. My question is this: Does anyone else have this problem? And has anyone fixed it? I tried unmounting the card and remounting, and they still didn't show up. Is there another directory they have to be in with 2.1?
