My stock alarm clock hasn't been working the past couple of days. Haven't had any problems with it before this. Or on any other device I owned. So I never tried any other alarm apps.

Is there a way to get a direct link/shortcut to the stock alarm clock without having to click through all of the HTC Sense UI stuff (i.e. click the main clock -> click the alarm button on the bottom -> click/unclick specific alarm)? Preferably I would like a shortcut that took me directly to the alarm screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've read through the other suggested alarm threads but didn't find a solution.In my case the screen turns on but the alarm screen does not display nor does any alarm sound or vibration happen. I do not have a task manager installed and i verified via the QuickSettings app that the alarm volume is turned up. It has been many days since I had power cycled my phone.I tried setting a new alarm a few minutes from the current time and it did not activate at all same thing: no alarm screen, no sound or vibration.I power cycled my phone and setup a new alarm. This time it worked perfectly.Is Android killing the phone app at some point to free up memory? Do I need to activate the clock app before I go to bed to make sure its running? But what if it gets killed overnight--odds aren't likely as I won't be using it.

I have had my phone replaced once and the replacement phone has worked very sporadically when I set the alarm to go off for me to wake up at 6:30 AM. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong? Has anybody else had a similar problem and how did you resolve it?

Its unreliable and its the only thing i absolutely hate about this phone. Is anyone else having this problem? seems like something petty to visit the VZ tech for, but i've been late to work too many times since getting my phone.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI use my phone for a work alarm and have it set to repeat during the week, I had to work at a different office yesterday so set a new alarm, this failed to go off, I thought it was just that I set it wrong but this morning my regular alarm failed to go off too.I've checked the volume controls and everything is set to high volume, I can't see anything that would stop it from going off?

Looks like the 1st time when I activate my alarm, it worked. But it didn't for the subsequent days.Anybody has any idea what went wrong here? Is there any other alarm clock freeware that could helps?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWell, go the update in the middle of the night and now have a slight problem. I use the phone as an alarm and this morning it would not shut off. I have the side buttons set to disarm the alarm and nothing. I had to turn the phone completely off and then re-boot to get the damn alarm to shut up. Now I can't get "what do tigers dream of when they take a little tiger snooze" outta my head (ringtone from Hangover).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have gotten a new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (android 4.4.3), but i HATE the system clock widget/app with the analog hands,and minimalist design,so i installed an apk extractor on my Samsung Galaxy S3 (android 4.0.4) to try and get the system clock app from there as i absolutly love it with its big digital numbers,and exact manual input of desired countdown timer,and apk extracted fine,but when i try and install it on my xperia i get an "app not installed" error after installation actually has happened.
Is this not possible what i am trying to do? Is the clock proprietary to each company the phone is from?
As far as I'm aware the standard alarm clock will not alarm when the phone is switched off. Does anybody know an alarm clock that will alarm when the phone is switched off ...? (preferably free)

View 18 Replies View RelatedI use Gentle Alarm as my clock, and I want a way to have just Gentle Alarm without any other apps running, and without even being able to run anything else. Basically, I want to convert my smartphone into a dumb alarm clock at night, and make it so that I have to reboot it to start messing with email, twitter, etc.
The reason I don't use a regular "dumb" alarm clock (which is ideal for me, really) is that I need something that vibrates and doesn't ring.
I am overriding the functionalities of current android alarm clock. As of now, if we have set two alarm of ,say, 10:10 and 10:15, now if the first alarm pops up at 10:10, and we click on snooze button(snooze time: 10 mins), then it says that the snooze will not be set since there is already an alarm in between(the 10:15th one). Here i want to both the alarm(i.e, snoozed one and 10:15th one) to be set. Any ideas???

how the alarm clock works. If u create an alarm, the informations must be saved somewhere and if u activate an alarm there must be an service in the background which look if the time is right and then send an intent to an activity ? This service have to run every time the phone is on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI went to sleep listening to a 6 hour playlist of thunderstorm sounds in spotify through stereo speakers. My alarm was set to go off 2 hours after the playlist ended. My alarm vibrated, and luckily woke me up, but it played no sound through my stereo speakers or through the phone's built in speaker. Is there any solution to this issue? Ideally, I'd like to listen to the sound of thunderstorms for 6 hours, and then have my alarm play the song that normally wakes me up through my stereo speakers.
I have a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX although I doubt that's relevant. I'm sure its something to do with the software.
My blackberry did, but my S4 doesn't turn on if it's off to sound the alarm. Is there an internal setting I can put on to fix this, or do I have to download a quick fix app for it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using my Bionic as my alarm clock since I got it. I have a dock at home, and the display stays on all night when docked. I also periodically dock my phone while at work, which also keeps the display on.
I realize that the phones are meant to be used and they wouldn't build these features into these phones if they were bad for them... right?
My question is this: How many people dock their phones and use them as alarm clocks, and have you ever encountered any problems with prolonged use and the brightness or sharpness of the screens?
I am concerned that I am wearing out my display by keeping it on all night while I am asleep.
im running fabs latest rom and on the phone i have both clock and alarm clock the old app and i think there conflicting cause i have my alarms set in clock but no alarm clock displayed near the time or in the lock screen like it should

I've just noticed that the alarm clock app that came preinstalled has the following permissions:

-Network communications- view network communications, wifi connections.
-Development toos- test access to protected storage.
-Hardware controls-
-Run at start up.
- Modify system settings.
I'm probably missing something...
I am looking for a widget (it could be a Clock and/or Weather or Calendar widget) which also display the time/day of the next scheduled alarm. I tried many of the most popular Widgets apps on the market but I couldn't find any.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy notification and alarm sound has stopped working however when I go to play music off my phone it still works.
I have gone into the Volume section under Sound and tried to mess with the volume levels. When I turn the alarm level up to the highest it can go, instead of playing my alarm sound it plays a very faint beeping noise. When I turn up my notification level it makes a similar beeping noise.
Sometimes the clock will go weird, and the time won't change unless I touch the phone. This morning I woke up at half 8, I went to look at the time on my phone and it said 04:36, then after a couple of seconds updated to the actual time of half 8. As a result of this, my alarm set to half 6 didn't go off. I don't have any task killer apps, my phone was not turned off, or on silent.
