General :: Motorola Razr Xt912 - Front Mic Is Not Working?

I recently purchased a new android phone off ebay (it's Motorola Razr xt912).It turned out the front mic doesn't work at all. It doesn't matter wether I use stock android or my CM installation. It didn't stop working, it never worked since I got the phone.
First I noticed people couldn't hear me when I was making calls, so then I tested the mic with a recording application which allows to choose the source mic. While I was able to record sound using the rear mic without any problem (in the app and also using the camera app), I never could get any sound at all from the front mic, regardless of application or OS used. Therefore I think it can be concluded that it's a hardware issue.
I don't really know what to do about this, I could contact the seller on ebay, but unfortunatelly in the meantime I managed to scratch the back of the phone a bit (there is a small but clearly visible scratch on the back) so I'm not sure they'd be willing to replace my phone.It occured to me that maybe I could somehow coerce the phone application to use the rear mic, is this possible?

Ok so i have a Razr Xt912, i have it rooted and running safestrap. Ive been looking around since ive seen awhile back on the portal it can be used with GSM carriers. But the more i look into it the more convoluted it gets. So is it really possible to get it to work on GSM like AT&T and T-Mobile?

I have about 7 Razr XT912's that will not make a call. I proceed to call "611" and then press the "call" button and the phone just sits at the dial screen and does not call. The phones are all receiving perfect signal and sim cards are in the phones. After letting the phone sit for about 10-15 minutes on the call screen I noticed one of the phones would randomly make the call. This does not happen to all of them.
I also noticed that the phones would not hard reset from the setting menu. It would act like it was loading for a hard reset then would just disappear. I would have to manually go to the recovery menu using the power/volume buttons. Hard resetting does not fix the issue. They are all at version 4.0.4 and are all doing the same thing. One of my extra XT912 is at 2.3.6 and has no problems. Could it be the 4.0.4 software??

For some reason, my razr will not play on the auxiliary cord anymore. It was working, then just stopped one day. It might have been when i started using my 32gb sd card in it.

Whenever I take a picture with my front camera using instgram it goes the the screen to choose my filter but the picture doesn't show and then after a minute it goes back the previous screen I was. Rear camera works fine. Did a clear data and even uninstalled and reinstalled it. Not rooted.

I have a problem with front camera doesn't work for me. When i choose to front camera so The screen is black and show me massage: the gallery doesnt work and then show message not connecting ro camera. It doesn't work on all rom.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work. When I turn front camera so the camera is crashed but when I do restart. It working for a moment...after Doesnt work. R800i

My brother bring me a Motorola Razr D1 (XT914) and in someway the "SIM CARD SLOT" is "BLOCKED", i has been using many android devices and is the first time that i see that!...
My brother say this happend when he imput the SIM CODE wrong many times and eventualy the SIM card auto block for security reasons..The strange thing is the phone seems to be "BLOCKED" too because i put another SIM from the same carrier and the problem persist.

I'm got a problem with my Motorola Razr Maxx, it is running only on SAFE MODE. I found a problem with my Volume Down button, so I can't select other option on boot!
Result, my phone is on Safe Mode forever, I can't install apps and some apps are hidden. I can live without Volume Down button, but this phone on Safe mode isn't useful.
There is some thing that I can do? Every solution that I found should press PWR Button, Volume Up and Volume Down...

My friend has a Motorola DROID RAZR and his whole ICS platform looks different and when I say that, I mean his folders look smaller, his whole theme looks different and everything compared to my Samsung Galaxy s2. Is there anyway to make my ics look like his?

I have a user that syncs her corporate email and calendar to her Motorola Droid Razr, Android 4.0.X. The initial entry of an event in her calendar is set for the correct time and time zone. When she edits her event the time zone changes which causes the event to be displayed at a different time.
Another user also has the issue on a Droid Incredible, but is not as concerned about it. I have the HTC EVO LTE and have not been able to replicate the issue.
I read this site and thought it could work. We have reset her account, changed her time zone, resynced.

When I first got my tablet it synced all my apps that I have on my phone onto my tablet. All me emails sync up but how do I get it to sync all the new apps again? It's annoying to have to put calendar appointments in both my phone and tablet. Same as every app I download on my phone. I seem to be doing double duty constantly. It did it once but never again.

So has anybody done this yet, I could imagine 2 small mirrors attached on to the back of the camera would do the trick to angle the lens to face the front. It would have to be clipon to work over our cases. Any pics of this actually being done, if not lets get some pictures of future attempts at this. That would be finding fantastic.

Does anybody knows how to add "1" in front of a number? I'm in Canada right now and they don't let me call directly "303-333-3333" for example. I can't add the 1 in front of it by editing a number that called me. All my entries don't have a "1" and most of them are long distance.

i have about 100 contacts on my Tmobile Razr and id like to know what the easiest way to go about that is.I simply dont have the patience to manually do it. i tried usb connecting my RAZR to my computer...didnt recognize it tried bluetooth syncing and transfering....said unsupported media type or something like that or it just couldnt "connect" when i turned bluetooth on.

got a new Maxx HD today. but haven't logged into my google account yet. Wanted to get ppl's opinion on using google to backup app data and auto restore it from my X2. I am thinking of disabling this as I want the "cleanest" install possible.
also, is there a way to prevent the phone from auto installing the apps that were on my X2. my bro went from a nexus to the razr maxx today as well and all his apps suto downloaded and installed. if there is no way to prevent this, then i guess i will uninstall the apps i dont want going to the new phone from my x2 first.

1 email account is POP3 from my local ISP (they do not support IMAP) which is my primary email.1 gmail account.I have my primary email forwarded to my gmail account, I setup through my local ISP so that I don't get the FWD in front of every message, (I use the stock gmail app) so that I do not have to fetch my email and so I don't have to check 2 different email apps.
Anyway regarding the calendar, when I want to forward an event I have to use the stock email app, the gmail app is not an option. So is there anyway to setup the stock email as exchange so that it will push my ISP mail. I'm on a Rezound if that makes a difference.

so my buddy wants me to root his razr. I have 3 roots under my belt. Whoohoo. we root his razr which all goes well. but upon reboot he has no data suddenly!!more reboots not working. what the heck. i know the verizon 4g network just went down tonight but he gets nothing even switching manually to 3g.

From all the pre release stuff I saw it looked like the Droid X was going to include a front facing camera. At the announcement today the pictures of the X looked like there was no camera and I haven't seen it mentioned. Is there not going to be a front camera on this phone. Doesn't matter to me, but I'm trying to talk my wife into getting one of these and she really wants a front camera for video calls.
