so my buddy wants me to root his razr. I have 3 roots under my belt. Whoohoo. we root his razr which all goes well. but upon reboot he has no data suddenly!!more reboots not working. what the heck. i know the verizon 4g network just went down tonight but he gets nothing even switching manually to 3g.

On my Droid Razr I am using the "Power Control" Toggle Widget for my homepage...This widget can toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Background Data, and Brightness. I use this widget to conveniently switch off these features to conserve battery life. Every switch seems to work fine except for the Background Data...I am able to turn on Background Data but when trying to turn off Background Data with the widget, although it does appear to be turned off because the icon is no longer illuminated...when I manually go into Data settings, the Background Data is still checked on.... What is the reason why it is not turning off with the widget

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy droid razr was installing an automatic update, made an error and then failed ultimately. It happened over night, so I wasn't even paying attention to it. This morning it was stuck with no service, no data, nothing. I tried turning it off and then back on, putting airplane mode on and then off. No luck. I then did a factory reset. Now it just says "please wait, this may take a few minutes." It does not change. I waited as long as the batter would stay charged. Still nothing.
I also tried re activating it on the verizon wireless website. No luck.
I tried to root my One X by doing the on first for not losing my data and installing BusyBox and SuperSU. But my problem is, when I ejected my USB from the phone all these weird data appeared on the top-right side of my screen.. and it keeps changing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted yesterday to a stock rooted 2.2. I couldn't set up my e-mail or facebook until I turned on the 4G connection. I figured it was just overloaded due to all the syncing going on at once.Today I flashed to Fresh 3.1.0.2 and downloaded all my apps at home with the 4G connection. After I left the house I realized that when I don't have the 4G connection, I have no data.I cannot connect to AppBrain, GMail, Google Maps, Google Navigation, Internet, Dolphin Browser. I do have connection to Facebook though which I think is weird.Any suggestions? The site seems to be running slow. I searched for a while and came across this issue with some different phones but no Evo stuff. I'm new to all of this.

After you root its stated you can flash custom roms. Can someone go more in depth on this? Will Sense not work anymore once the phone is rooted? Any other points of interest that is worth noting?

The problem is that I am virtually always near a wifi connection so I don't need data. Is there or will there ever be and app or a way to root the X10 so that my carrier thinks I am using some other phone and I don't have to be charged for data?If I was unclear, please ask questions.

also, is there a way to prevent the phone from auto installing the apps that were on my X2. my bro went from a nexus to the razr maxx today as well and all his apps suto downloaded and installed. if there is no way to prevent this, then i guess i will uninstall the apps i dont want going to the new phone from my x2 first.

Both my wife and I have android tablets running ICS but different brands..Neither tablet can get to the internet with the Razr M hotspot. They connect to the phone and the phone reports them as connected. But I can't browse the internet. These are not mainstream tablets but they're good ones. They worked with my Droid X and the short time I had a Windows phone 8 they worked fine as well. I've not had any trouble until now. How can 2 droids not talk? I can solve the issue by using windows hosted network and connectifyme. Both tablets will connect to connectify me and get on the net through the phone that way. I'd just like to solve this issue rather than do a work around. Carrying a laptop just to route ICS is not very practical. I've tried everything including third party apps to no avail. Foxfi sucks so bad I had to do a factory reset to get rid of the lock screen password it creates now AND pdanet is now bundled with Foxfi so I can't even try USB tethering. I did try some USB tethering apps I found on Google Play but none of them worked. Both tablets are rooted. So is there a way to replace the network software? Is there a way to upgrade to Jelly Bean?

I have a Droid X and they are not. I can stream, play music, etc. and listen in my BlueAnt Q2. However, all notifications play only through the phone. This is a documented issue in the Droid X, but I can't find anything about the Razr.
So I decided to buy a new sd card for my razr and I am having a problem transferring music to my phone.. Every time I try to move all 1400 songs it wants to pull every sound on the computer (about 2300 total)... How do i fix this? I could drag and drop the each song, Is there a better way? I hate having extra sounds in my power amp app...

I'm buying a used Droid Razr 4g and currently have a Droid Pro. Can I take the sim card out of my pro and put it in the Razr and will it work? I'm trying to avoid going to Verizon.
I'm due for an upgrade in 6 weeks, but aren't going to use it, because first of all I cracked the screen on my Pro last week, and secondly, I have the unlimited data plan and don't want to lose that.
I moved my 2G SD chip from my old Incredible to my new Moto Razr and it doesn't recognize it....and wants me to format it.
Do I have to lose all the data (from various apps, etc)?...or is there some way?
Both of my android devicea, a razr and a galaxy tab 7.0 plus,are havingtrouble connectingto our wifi. the tab is on honeycomb, the razr on ics. assigning a static ip addressworks for about five minutes, then although the phone says connected, no connection works. during those 5 mins, i can browse the internet but cannot connect via dlna to other devices. when using dhcp dynamic ip address, it just cycles through obtaining ip to disconnected . i ued to use dlna daily, but no luck now, and the static ip is the only solution i can fimd online. This phone has used dhcp before, and theres no reason that it shouldnt be able to now. Both devices run standard roms.

So I hooked it up and installed the software and stuff. Do I have to use that and WMP to transfer music to my phone? For some reason WMP won't detect my phone, even though the software comes up when I plug it in. WMP only gives me the option to copy to CD, it doesn't recognize the phone as a device.

My brother say this happend when he imput the SIM CODE wrong many times and eventualy the SIM card auto block for security reasons..The strange thing is the phone seems to be "BLOCKED" too because i put another SIM from the same carrier and the problem persist.
I'm got a problem with my Motorola Razr Maxx, it is running only on SAFE MODE. I found a problem with my Volume Down button, so I can't select other option on boot!
Result, my phone is on Safe Mode forever, I can't install apps and some apps are hidden. I can live without Volume Down button, but this phone on Safe mode isn't useful.
