Is there a way to know what ip address an web based app is using to connecting to the internet?My purpose is to block access to the internet to app via router at a particular time ..i mean to say i wish to block an android app called vk via my router so i need to know the ip address..or is there any workarounds for it ?

Using a Linksys wireless router with a WEP encryption at home. Every time I try to connect my phone says "Obtaining IP Address" and then after a short time it fails.
-Yes, my phone recognizes the router.
-Yes, I have the correct key.
-Yes, I have reset my router and modem, no change.
-Yes, I have restarted my phone.
-Yes, my phone connects just fine to unsecured wireless routers.
-No, I cannot find another thread that has solved this issue.
My Hero was connecting to my home WiFi perfectly (for about 5 weeks) - yesterday it stopped connecting, now just says CONNECTION UNSUCCESSFUL?OBTAINING IP ADDRESS.
I have not changed any of my router settings/phone settings, so this is strange. I have tried deleting link and re inputting key (this worked once, but now no longer works)
My router is on the recommended WPA-2 setting, and is regarded as a friendly router for the Hero (Netgear 834dg)
I like to add addresses to my phone book in Android. As a lot of my contacts live in buildings i also like to add the floor and apartment number to the address: Looking like that:
Street and Number, Floor and Department number
Town, zip code
State
Country
Example;
Av. Whatever 12345, Floor 5-A
Buenos Aires 1007
Argentina
When clicking on the address the GPS of my wish opens , finds the country, city but not the street because of the additional Floor and department information. Without this additional information everything well with Google Maps or Sygic.
So, how should i add this additional Floor and department information to my address without the GPS has problems to find the main location.Also from ICS on there is only one filed to add the whole address not as with Gingerbread where you had a field for street, city, etc.
Just getting used to my HTC Desire, after reading your forum I was comforted regarding battery life and it seems much better now than the first few days.
I see another post on this but no answer, the address book only gives one line of the address is then any way round this? Even my first pda a Psion 3 had the option of which fields to display etc. there seems very little option to format what is seen, not that I am unhappy about the rest but to have to edit to see all the address is barmy.
Another thing way back then that still is not found is search all fields of the contacts, i.e. to find a number of someone that rang on another phone.
The Gmail address book on the Web contains a field for birthdays, so why not the Android address book? While I'm sure the app could undergo a lot of changes (and everyone would have different ideas) something as basic as a birthday seems obvious.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint Galaxy S3 and I've been trying for weeks to connect it to a PS3 controller. I got a usb to mini usb converter, downloaded the Sixaxis Controller app and rooted my phone, but after connecting to the controller and turning it on it just flashes while the app says "listening for controllers..." so I assumed I must have got a faulty converter ordered a new one, same results. Then I ordered gameklip after reading that it could connect with your controller just by plugging in a mini to micro cable and after it arrived I'm getting the same problem. The phone just doesn't seem to recognize that there's anything plugged into it. I've tried two different PS3 controllers. I've tried resetting them using a paperclip and the button on the back. I've tried resetting the phone multiple times. I've honestly tried everything I can think of. It just doesn't seem to work.
Everybody I can find on the internet seems to have no problem with either a wired or wireless method, but I can't seem to figure it out. I don't know if there's just something simple I'm missing or if there's some compatibility problem I don't know about, but I've spent over $50 trying to get this thing to work so I'd like to see that pay off.

Been pushed over to the new outlook app from hotmail yesterday. I the issue im having is that it wont connect and download/recieve/notify me of any emails if im on mobile internet. If i connect to my Wi-fi at home, within seconds they all come flooding in.
It does nothing if i try and refresh it either. I have 3 "hotmail" accounts on the app, all of which worked fine when still using hotmail app..

i got an S3.. and my computer has xp pro. i had to restore my computer recently from a saved image of my system. before i restored my computer, i was able to connect my S3 to it via USB with no problem. but after i restored it, i'm unable to.
i downloaded and installed the MTP driver, which got my computer to recognize my phone before i restore it. but now its not working and i dont see it listed in Device Manager. whats weird is that when i connect my S3 to my computer, the phone doesnt give any notifications that the phone is connected to USB like it used to before. and it also doesnt give me the 2 options of connecting by either MTP or Camera. all it does is charge my phone.
I just got my new Nexus yesterday and I have wi- fi that is working. when it says Select wi-fi I click on the connection that I use for my lap top and it won't connect. I have a ipod, phone and laptop that connects.

I have been struggling to make phone calls/send texts/go online without turning on WiFi. My phone rarely connects to the 4G network that I know is strong , because my dad's identical Galaxy S3 is quick to connect to it. My phone rarely connects to Edge either now. When I go into the "Search Mobile Networks" tab my phone just keeps searching and searching... and searching. I thought I had the solution a moment ago when I turned on and off Airplane Mode. My phone connected to 4G for a moment and I was able to send one text, but then it dropped back into nothingness. In addition, it takes nearly 30 seconds to switch into airplane mode after I select it.It's not the sim card because I tried it on a different phone and it works fine. My dad's a cynic when it comes to rooting and he's saying it might be because I rooted my phone, but this issue started two to three weeks after I rooted... is rooting a potential cause?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with connecting my Samsung galaxy S3 (android 4.3) to any of my PCs. Before everything worked fine but then I upgraded to android 4.3 and connections started crashing. It still worked but connections were unstable. So I installed Samsung Kies 3 and from then on I haven't been able to connect my device to any PC. I tried everything I found on web. I have developer mode and usb debugging on. I know my cable is OK because other devices work just fine. Someone suggested going to usb settings but apparently there is no such think in android 4.3 settings, so I downloaded some apps to change my usb settings but they all require a rooted phone. I tried rooting my phone but even for that I need to connect it to a PC. I really need to connect my phone to PC to test apps(android emulator lags waaay too much).

The tablet just doesn't see the device. (I already had this problem before I installed CM). Is there something I could change in order to make it visible to the tablet. Most people issues around this is that they don't pair when the device is visible. (I assume that it is not related to the CM)

However, this seems to work only with address, name of places.For example, I tried "navigate to 1234 main street" or "navigate to san jose airport" or "navigate to Starbucks on oakland road". The commands were recognized in all cases. For the last one, it prompted me with a list of choices for the end points, and once selected, proceeded correctly with the navigation.
However, if I say "navigate to John Doe home", although it also recognized the command correctly (i.e. it came up with the prompt "navigate to john doe home" and asked me to choose "go" or "cancel"), it would not come up with the correct address from the contact list as the end point to navigate to, but instead it would come up with a list of end points not related to John Doe at all, even if I have John Doe in my contact list (with the home address).
I googled around and it appeared that other users have also experienced similar problems, with some dating back 2-3 years ago. I just discovered this since I just switched from iPhone to a Samsung Skyrocket (with Gingerbread v2.3.6). Seems to be a simple problem to resolve. I can't believe that this problem is not (AFAIK) getting the attention of Google as I think this would be encountered by a lot of people.
Also I am wondering if there is a way to get around this beside giving the full address in the voice search command.
Any free app that encodes a photo label of the address (not lat, long), time and date?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a Freelancer PX2 and am reluctant to tweak it until I am happy it is working properly and have accepted delivery.But it comes up with a different MAC address every time it is turned on. The first 3 bytes are always 00:08:22: but the remainder appears to be random. I know MAC addresses can be spoofed, but I have never seen one that changes on an unmodded device.
PX2, whether this happens on their tablet, or whether the MAC address is fixed (as I believe it should be)?
I do have a Ace 2 (I8160) but I can't get the mobile on the Wifi and he keeps saying: trying to get the IP-adress

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a VZW Galaxy Nexus. On 4.1.2 I can tether my Xbox wirelessly with success. On 4.2.1/4.2.2 I can't anymore. All ROMs and kernels fail. No configuration I try anymore allows successful tethering. Xbox reports the error that it can't get an IP address.
Can you wirelessly tether to your Xbox using Android 4.2.X, and if so, what phone are you using and what ROM and kernel.
I'm trying to determine if this is just a Galaxy Nexus issue, and if there is anything that will work with success. (I'm not the only person with this issue, but everyone I know with the problem has a Galaxy Nexus).
